Alchemist Query (PF)

I've recently started playing with a local Pathfinder Society group, and I'm building a character that I hope to use whenever I can. I wanted to build an Alchemist, but I'm slightly confused about some of the bomb enhancements.

If I take the [Explosive Bombs] discovery, it doubles the splash damage range and sets the main target on fire. If I take the [Smoke Bombs] discovery, does that mean that my bombs have double splash range, set the target on fire, AND let out a smokescreen? Or would I need to make separate bombs that do each of those things? Paizo website is mum on the subject, so far as I can tell...

Only one of those at a time, I'm afraid. In the "Discovery" bit you have this:

Discoveries that modify bombs that are marked with an asterisk (*) do not stack. Only one such discovery can be applied to an individual bomb.

and both Explosive and Smoke are marked with an asterisk.
