I was on the fora, looking at various things, and I wondered what you guys' favorite 3.0/3.5/Pathfinder homebrews are? Monsters, feats, classes, ACFs, what have you, as long as it's homebrew and it's your favorite.

(I put this thread here because even though it pertains to Homebrew, I felt it should go here because it pertains to playing homebrew, and not the act of brewing.

I have been interested in various things, and low to moderate amounts of experience with them.

- Drolyt's VoP fix: an interesting and well though out alternative to the exalted VoP presented in BoED. The link is in my extended sig. Also has a nice extended VoP for epic levels a couple pages into the thread. Worth a gander, and also proposes an interesting idea for giving VoP benefits to all Tier 4 and lower characters without requiring them to get rid of their gear.

- T.G. Oskar's Monk Fix: Long and well thought out, definitely adds lots of functionality and options to a new monk concept that remains close to the original concept, but without all of the terrible dysfunction of the original.

- Xaotiq1's Monk Fix: Ever wanted to play a Tier 3 monk? This comes awfully close, and if you can get a DM to help you iron out some of the details related to the katas, you will probably enjoy the experience.

Stuff I hear about but have only casual experience with:
- A couple truenamer fixes...can't recall the names, but heard good things about both from multiple sources.

- Grammaerie, at least I think that is how it's spelled. Sounds really cool, but I've heard that it can be really unbalancing if used by an enterprising character. Some people rave about how cool it is. Kind of magical technology inventor. Some nice fluff from what little of it I read.

In terms of "major" homebrew I'd have to go with almost everything by ErrantX (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=4112249&postcount=26).

But what I use most is a "lighter" form of homebrew: A remake of the Dread Necromancer spell list (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?162358-quot-Fixed-quot-Dread-Necromancer-Spell-List)

My problem with the Gramarist is For what is basically a 40 page rulebook, GitP/BBC is really hard to read, because it presents an indomitable fortress of text.

From what i understand its basically an Artificer that is fun to play because it has its own toys.

In my opinion, most stuff by T.G. Oskar are a safe bet! Specifically, I quite like his Healer (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?133118-Retooling-the-Healer-(Heal-it!-Heal-it!-No-one-wants-to-be-defeated!)) and Samurai (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?143018-The-Retooled-Samurai-My-heart-it-burns-Such-force-of-will-Such-fighting-spirit!) fixes. I also like homebrewed Martial Disciplines, and this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?255468-Homebrew-Martial-Discipline-Compendium) is a great resource. I specially like TheDementedOne's work, and specially Scarlet Bravura (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?101008-Just-Who-The-Hell-Do-You-Think-We-Are!-Discipline&p=5569037#post5569037). There are a LOT of good stuff there from other brewers too, so I recommend checking it out! And since we're on the subject of ToB-inspired stuff, Tempest Stormwind's sublime way variant of the Marshal (http://wiki.faxcelestis.net/index.php?title=Marshal_(Sublime_Way_variant)) is also great!

Now, I just wish I could find a local group where I could choose homebrew stuff to play. :smallfrown:

I love most of Oslecamo's Monster Classes (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?board=34.0), and tempestman's Martial Adept Samurai (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?206517-3-5-Martial-Adept-Samurai-(PEACH)) is my preferred fix.

I just wish that I actually played every now and then, so I'd actually have a chance to play some of these.

I will always be a fan of Kellus' Xenoalchemy (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?205119-Must-Affix-Everything-to-Everything!-(Grafts-That-Don-t-Make-Me-Cry-Myself-To-Sleep)). I love the idea behind grafting, and am always sad that its normal implementation is so lackluster. This at least gives me the chance to make a pack of graft-dogs as my schtick without needing to break the bank.

In my (admittedly highly biased) opinion, my favourite brew is in my sig.

Indeed. I would run more games, but it is so, so much easier to talk about playing than to actually play (especially on the DM side of things). As it stands, I may still look into an irl gaming group in my area, as some small amount of free time might be on the horizon, and there really is nothing in life that brings me as much fun as DMing/GMing/STing.

My favorite so far has got to be the Iron Man (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?258113-PF-The-Invincible-Iron-Man-Base-Class) base class. I even ended up homebrewing a class using it and one of my own homebrews.

I backported Iron Man for a 3.5 campaign for one of my players and I've got to say it's really fun. A solid and interesting T3/T2 ish class.

Although my favorite is actually probably the http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Gray_Elf_Paragon_(3.5e_Racial_Paragon_Class)]Gray Elf Paragon (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Gray_Elf_Paragon_(3.5e_Racial_Paragon_Class)). Yeah, I know, D&D wiki. But it's a simple class that fills a hole that existed before. It's powerful but not too powerful. It's not a super exciting class but it's well done.

There is also this 3.5 version (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?176276-3-5-Magitech-Templar-Iron-Man) if you want.

I'm rather partial to T G Oskar's fixes for the Healer and Marshal classes as well as "The Way Words Work" by Kellus, which actually presents a sensical approach to Truenaming.

Seconded. I'm also a fan of Kyeudo's Book of Words, a truenamer fix that feels exactly like the original while also being totally functional.
