Greetings playgrounders, and welcome to
The Ultimate Order of the Stick Book Tournament!
Here, you can vote for your favorite of the first eight books in a double-elimination tournament. Each week I will post a new matchup. Vote in this thread, not by PM. You get one vote per person. If your post contains more than the name or abbreviation of the book's title, I ask that you bold your vote. Votes may take the form either of the book's title, the abbreviation, or (with the exception of Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales) the number.

The Contestants
Dungeon Crawling Fools
No Cure for Paladin Blues
War and XP
Don't Split the Party
Blood Runs in the Family
On the Origins of the PCs
The Start of Darkness
Snips, Snails and Dragon Tails

Although BRitF has not been released, I think that we have seen enough of it from the online strips to include it in the running.

Current Bracket Standings: clicky! (http://challonge.com/OOTS_Books)

The current match will end Saturday, April 12. Vote away!

And voting is closed!

The winner, to no one's surprise, is War and XP.

War and XPs gets my vote; the impact of bonus strip 313a (Odd Paladin Out) manages the difficult task of outdoing the geekery of 23b (Schrödinger's Ninja).

War and XPs, because it's awesome and DCF is just good (in my opinion).

War and XPs is my personal favorite and objectively the best.

Oh, War and XPs, no question. DCF is fun, but it can't measure itself with the later ones.

EDIT: That fourth match though... that's just evil.

War and XPs gets my vote as well. I sense that this match up has a clear winner, based on the votes we have so far.

War and XPs is the more refined product. It's also one of my favorite OOTS book.

War and XPs. OOTS didn't really get good until somewhere in the second book.

I'm in for WaXPs - especially the Cliffport arc and everything related with (Heroism for Dummies) are just awesome.

Though one question: Why are we allowed to vote with number for all books other than SSaDT? Because it features a "spine number" like the other books, too. Only that it isn't a number, but a letter (D). And I don't see any reason why voting should be allowed for "4" or "-1" but not for "D".

And another question: How you decided on seeds?

Call me a minority person, but I'm giving my vote to Dungeon Crawling Fools for 1 reason: Banjo.

I take it from this that you don't wish to dissuade folks who don't own all the books from voting?

War and XPs. Looks like a forgone conclusion though.

I hadn't thought of using (D) for SSADT, I guess I'll just add that in.
The seeds were decided (pseudo-)randomly.
