Got a fifth level S2P Erudite, giving his psicrystal telepathic speech, and he says that I allows him to qualify for the mindsight feat, but I'm not sure. What does the Playground think?

No, Mindsight specifically requires the "Telepathy special quality" which is a defined ability in D&D (MM pg. 316.) Different abilities that function similarly to telepathy don't count.

The Psiscrystal would be able to take it, though, if I'm not mistaken. :smallwink:

It's one word difference between the two and the description is exactly the same. As a DM I'd allow the Psicrystal to take it but not the Psion. Granted, the difference is semantics at that point since they can communicate wordlessly with each other anyway. There's ways to get telepathy too.
