Pets for the Pod-People

I'm working up a tribal culture based on the Volodni, the plant-people from Unapproachable East, and I'm looking for plant creatures they could use in place of animal companions, as well as general vegetation-themed allies and mobile greenery for their settlements. What are some interesting, useful plant creatures to have on hand?

It's not terribly extensive, but the Treesinger Elf Archetype located in the Pathfinder SRD has stats for some plant companions. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/races/core-races/elf/treesinger-druid-elf

Violet Fungus would probably work as a 1st-level plant companion.

Dragon Magazine #357 had rules for plant companions, but I'm not sure how they measure up to Pathfinder's version.

On the plant-people allies side, Myconids are my go-to. Needlefolk also work.
