Long Spear and Weapon Finesse [3.5]

Hey all,

I have an NPC for an upcoming game that is a Brood Monkey (small monstrous humanoid). They get the ability to Flurry with simple weapons.

I want him to use a long spear (for reach), but I would like for him to be able to use Weapon Finesse with it - and ideally, still be able to use Power attack as well.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Companion Guard style works for Elves.

What about Aptitude weapon special ability? A level or two in Kensai could help here.

You could use a feycraft shortspear, but then you wouldn't have reach and wouldn't be able to use Power Attack. Since you're the DM, you could just make let the monkey use Companion Guard Style.

Companion Guard Style (Dr315) lets you pick between longspear or longsword to apply dex to attack.
It also requires BAB +4. By that time anyone with 2 ranks in knowledge(local:celene) can take it. If you insist on the regional requirement, that is. It's not exactly gamebreaking to turn it into a general feat and remove the BAB restriction.
