My group wants to travel in style, and they think a darkwood carriage is in order, but we can't calculate the cost without a weight. I couldn't find this information in Ultimate Equipment.

When in doubt, look to real life.

An actual horse-drawn carriage weighs 1000-1200lbs. Darkwood weighs half that.

Hence, the item in question should be between 500 and 600 pounds depending on how its built.

In 3.5 PHB a carriage is listed as weighing 600 lbs. Not Pathfinder but it gives you something at least.

The 3.0 Arms and Equipment Guide says 400 lbs for a carriage that holds more people.

Thank you kindly for the responses. I'd probably go with the 3.5 figure, but I think I shall look around for some real-world figures as suggested. I've not been around many carriages so I don't know if those figures are reasonable, but Pathfinder lists a Yak as weighing 1,000 lbs. and I'm suddenly curious if a yak really would outweigh a carriage.

Wikipedia states that a yak can weigh up to 2,000lbs....

A cart is 200lbs and doesn't have a listed person capacity - but its reasonable it could hold around 2 people
A Wagon is 400lbs and also doesn't have a listed person capacity - but its reasonable it could hold around 4 people
A carriage is 600lbs and holds 6 people (4 passengers and 2 drivers)
