The land of Everkreig and its surrounding islands (collectively known as The Redlands, Blood and Fire or Illiyas Duir) makes up most of the land of the planet of Aeroph. The entire world has a surface area of around 51,006,560 km square, or 81,610,496 square miles, with The Redlands and surrounding oceans taking up about one fifth of this, and roughly one quater of THAT land being water. Everkreig is the main continent, a roughly octagon-shaped landmass taking up fully three quaters of the total landmass. North of Everkreig are the twin islands of Luna Fey, called Wax and Wane. It is here the elves live, eking out a tired and mysterious existence after their fall. At the South-Eastern tip of everkreig are the sea-mounatins of Pallor, where the dwarves originate from. Insurgents to Everkreig, they wage war on the Everkreigian Orc tribes from their mainland stronghold of Zosorth. A group of islands far off the southern coast of Everkreig marks the edge of explored civilisations. This cluster conatins two distinct states, the land of Ghardi, the dragonlands, and Avios, the islands which the Aviates originate from.

Everkreig's population itself is somewhat mixed. The northern coast is a dead-magic zone, marking the Elven fall. Practically uninhabitated, it holds terrible secrets and deserted cities. The midlands and southern western provinces hold the human kingdoms. The Gold Regency, encompassing much of the north and east of the humanlands, is a powerful empire that holds many half-elves and half-orcs, as well as some dwarves as well. With a powerful standing army and a distinctly feudal society, they currently hold military and diplomatic dominance over the entire of Everkreig and much of the wider Redlands. Between the Gold Regency and the orc kingdoms of the south lies the small kingdom of Phal, a deeply religous country with a small human and elf population. Distinctly disciplined and efficent, their lack of army is made up for by regiments of martial artists, crusaders and powerful arcane forces. At the moment allied with the Gold Regency trhough the marriage of a prince and high-priestess, their theoistic soceity depends upon the populous' belief in the Gods. West of Phal and south of the Gold Regency lies....

So the northern part of the main continent is fleshed out, and the south east holds the orcs, but i was wondering if anybody had any ideas for south/south-eastern provinces, in so far as creating some intrigue?

I'll point out before they do, that your size is off.
There are 1.6 km in a mile. So 82,000 miles is much bigger than 52,000km.

Indeed. Looks like you converted the wrong way.

West and south seems to be past where you put the orcs mentioned earlier. I'd suggest barbarian types. Stopped from forming advanced civilisation by constant battering by the orcs on their eastern flank. They're of a different religion to the Phalians, who therefore refuse to offer them aid, and too anarchic to be absorbed by the feudal society to their north.

You could have them just coming into a period of strength as the Dwarf/Orc war removes one of their traditional foes, letting them concentrate on building military force and solid resource management.
