Should I update to Windows 8.1?

I've been using Windows 8 on a laptop for the last year and a half, and have thusfar refused to update. After reading about what it changes, I've come here to ask; Should I update?

From what I've heard, no.
Though if you prefer older layouts, it might be better, I've found I actually like windows 8's now that I've used it for a while.

If you're already on windows 8 I don't see any reason not to go to 8.1, was there a particular reason you haven't upgraded already?

Kind of afraid of what it would change.
I'm just now used to 8.

I've heard that 8.1 is much like 8, but better for people who use laptops or 2-in-1s as opposed to 8's tablet-centric design.
