Does anybody know about any websites that are about political games? I mean like NationStates (www.nationstates.net), where you can run your own country? I really like those kinds of games, but haven't really found a satisfactory one. I played NationStates for awhile, but got bored because all I was able to do was make arbitrary choices every day and only the nations that had been around for an absurdly long time could influence things like the UN.

I played NationStates for a while. Most of the enjoyment came from using it as a basis for role-playing on a separate message board.

There are a few NS-type games about, try SimCountry (?) or Cybernations, but nothing that I'd really recommend.

www.planetarion.com (http://www.planetarion.com) (or something like that, you may have to play with the linky to get there)

I played it about 7 - 8 years ago when it was still completely free and it was ok but I have no idea what it's like now.

You could try Particracy (http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/index.php), a game where you take up the political party of a country and try to get the people to vote for you. From the site:

Particracy is a political simulation game where the player takes on the role of a political party in a fictional nation. Players propose and vote on legislation, form cabinets, determine economic policy and join international treaties as they compete for votes with other political parties in their nation. The opinions of voters in each nation is measured on a wide variety of opinions, meaning every region and every nation is unique, and constantly changing. Will your nation be a free market paradise or a socialist utopia? Only the voters will decide.
