View Full Version : Updating Psionic Attack/Defense Modes?

I wanted to port forward the Psionic mind battles from 3.0 to 3.5 for a psionics-based dungeon punk game, but now that Psionics have been re-written for single-attribute focus (a positive change, mind you) the system doesn't really function as written. So what would I do to update it and make it make sense, both mechanically and thematically, now that Psionics are only based around mental stats and each Psionic class only uses one attribute instead of all of them?

You could do what the EPH did, and just fold them into a part of normal combat (the various attacks and defenses are still there, just in the power section now).

If you still want Psychic combat to be its own weird thing, check out Bruce Cordell's Hyperconscious. I've heard it's less terrible than the original.
