PTU Flames of the Inquisition (IC)

Ten years ago Kalos was destroyed. To this day nobody knows what caused the completely elimination of all life on an entire continent. Each country blames another and relations are tense. Ghosts have arisen, Witches are out in force, and the world is on the brink of a new turning point. The Inquisition plans to stop the world from tilting into a spiral of destruction, and while nobody can blame them for their goals their methods have caused quite the stir. The Inquisition claims that supernatural witches are to blame and that they can create and control the deadly wraiths that have been unleashed on the world since Kalos was destroyed. They claim that the only way to stop it from repeating is to eliminate the abominations that can use magic and twist reality.

However, the Inquisition isn't the only group trying to take advantage of the chaos for their own gain. Kings and Queens plot and scheme, nobles meet behind closed doors, thieves plan elaborate heists, and pirates thrive on the chaos to plunder to their heart's content. It is in this chaotic world that a group of individuals each will carve their own path. Perhaps they can alter the course of history or perhaps they will fall in the attempt. One thing is for certain, these individuals, marked by fate, will not have a peaceful and calm life.

Wisp
The first of our destined individuals is a unique and strange girl from Sinnoh. Known as Ameliya Puchok by some and "Wisp" as others, this girl's supernatural connection is made only worse by her connection to ghosts and other creatures of darkness. Her strange powers had caused her life to not be one of peace and her childhood was instead one of suffering. However, once she was no longer at her home she found that Sinnoh was not as superstitious as most places. The girl was lucky not to have been born in Unovia for she'd have been the perfect target for a witch hunt. Instead, Wisp has found that she can make an interesting life in Sinnoh investigating strange occurrences. It is during one such investigation that we shall find her, for today she has just come across an interesting notification with an address on the outskirts of the small town of Alamos.

"Help Wanted: I believe the dear Shinx I bought the other day is haunted. She has been making strange scary growling sounds. See Agatha Betrice for details."

Nicholas
While legends might paint the Inquisitors as either the ultimate good or the ultimate evil in the world, the truth is that the majority of Inquisitors are simple humans just like any one. Some might be heroes, some might be villains, but most are just a typical person doing what they think is right. Nicholas Hayes is an A-class Inquisitor, licensed to hunt on his own and to find witches and bring them to justice. While he might not have a large list of missions to his name, he is known because of who is mentor was. Trained by Master Adrian Van Helsing, many rumors abound that Nicholas is bound for greatness. After all, if the student of Adrian Van Helsing learned anything from his mentor he'd become the most famous Inquisitor in the land one day.

However only time will tell if he is going to meet the expectations thrown upon him. For today he has a rather dangerous mission: Investigate Sinnoh. For whatever reason, Nicholas was selected to head to Sinnoh and see what he could find out and do what he could. In a land known for the ability to keep out the Inquisition and the deadly fate of those that were caught, Nicholas faces quite the predicament. We find him as he begins his preparations to board an airship from Hoenn and sneak aboard Sinnoh.

Cid Belmont and Erin Calen
The classic question of nature vs nurture has always made people wonder about how a person was raised. Cid Belmont is a strange individual who seems to heavily lean towards nurture being dominant. Raised by bugs, this supernatural human has shown to have quite a few bug-like traits. He grew up in the harsh lands of Orre, but unlike most supernaturals in Orre it wasn't as a normal being. While Orre is commonly regarded as a safe haven for supernaturals, Cid Belmont spent his early life outside of civilization. Raised by pokemon the man is definitely the strangest of our destined individuals.

The native lands of Hoenn are home to large amounts of people connected to the elements. Some are close to pokemon of those elements, others are close to the elements themselves. And a rare few are tied to two elements. However, Erin Calen was gifted with the connection to three elements. The world is comprised of many elements and all the elements are connected. To see how some elements can connect, one needs look no further than Erin. Erin Calen is a miniature storm comprised of the wind, the thunder, and the rain. Her early life was a storm of unfortunate events as she was captured by pirates.

Now, determined to get her own ship and crew, Erin has met the first of her future crew and thus Cid Belmont has gained the chance to travel the world. The two have just arrived at a tavern to find a large assortment of bounties. These bounties are each sorted by a level of difficulty. At the lower end is a man named Calico Rauncer, a small end pirate who recently acquired a ship but angered the wrong pirate. In the middle is a thief named Robyn Evergreen, who only ever robbed pirates and was wanted by the local pirate lord whom she robbed. At the top of the list is a group of three unknown figures who live on a small island that they've claimed for their own. Despite attempts to rob them of their valuables, which they seem to have quite a bit of, two of the three figures have single-handedly fended off most the pirates that have attacked. Rumors even tell of an old Unovian airship that serves as their home on the small island.

Cid was, as always, quiet, covered head to toe in clothing, thin enough to not overheat, but heavy enough to not be bothered by the cold of the evenings, small tufts of dark brown hair peaking out of the tan cloth with his golden brown eyes shifting about the area. The gloves on his hand, sans the spiked metal plates that made them weapons, were hidden within the sleeves of his light brown shirt. He glances over at Dhaska and Erin, standing to his left.

Dhaska buzzed as he hovered between Cid and Erin, looking at the boards with his own blue eyes and head tilted slightly as he did, then turned its head at Cid, asking its own question of him, and Cid replied with a release of pheromones that translated easily with the beedrill. A reply back got a short grunt from Cid before he turned to Erin, "your thoughts?" he asked in a hoarse voice, rough from lack of use. He'd mention Dhaska's thoughts after he heard what his captain had to say.

"*sigh* I hope eets not anodder stomach ache" Wisp says to herself in her sinnoh-ian as she notes the address, and makes sure her broad hat and travelers mask were properly affixed to protect her fair skin from the weather.

It would be such a waste of our talents if you didn't feel the need to earn and save so much money we wouldn't have to harm our pride and reputation on such menial jobs Aww but pokemon with tummy aches are soooo cuuute the way they roll around and make funny noises I think we should go! Besides you want the money right? You're not going to have enough saved up to buy tohjan manga by the time we reach the next port town if you don't accept as many jobs as you can now. Wisp sighed yet again rather loudly this time as the two mental fragments of personality that represent the elements she is connected two make's their presence known yet again this morning, and bicker over the best course of action as if they were a pair of shoulder devils trying to influence her. She didn't want to put up with their arguing for long so she quickly sided with the second voice which represented the "ghost" side of her elemental connection and directed her ponyta mount Susan to take her to the listed address much to the more proud "dark" side's displeasure.

She wasn't far down the path when she felt two paws leaning against her shoulder and a foxy snout prod the side of her head. "Yeah dey're going at eet same as every morning. I just hope dis job ees de real deal den maybe dey vill bodd be satisfied for once... A genuine possession vould be eenteresting eef eet didn't turn out to be just a stomach ache for once vouldn't you say Slippers?" She says to the haunting Zorua companion hanging off her shoulder which just grunts as if saying he didn't care what the job was about as long as they actually turned a profit this time.

Erin was dressed far less modestly than Cid was as she stared at the various bounties on the board. Wearing a tank-top and fairly tattered pants, she looked much the part of a seasoned sailor. She carries her cutlass openly on her belt, and her half-black, half-blonde hair makes her stick out even in unusual company. Of course, her flat chest and numerous piercings made it extraordinarily difficult to even tell if she was in fact a girl. And in this line of business, being mistaken for a boy could only help.

She just grunted when Cid asked about her thoughts. Erin was still piecing things together when he spoke. After another minute of silence, she rips all three bounties down. "We'll do them all, simple enough." She rolls them into a tube and sticks them into the pocket of her pants.

Cid glances at Dhaska with an 'I told you so' look, then turns back to Erin, "pace yourself, lady," he still didn't use her name, simply calling her lady or miss. He really didn't want to get in too deep on this just yet, he was a decent fighter, and had plenty of skill as a hunter and survivalist, but he knew his limits, at best, he and Erin could take on the first two, the highest tier one was simply too much at their current skill level, "build to the harder ones," he indicates the order he'd like to do them; Calico, Robyn, Unknown Trio.

Dhaska looked over and pointed to the one about Robyn, he wanted to jump into the middle ground, to test their strength, then go to the lower one to earn some money to prepare for the big one, then he buzzed his wings loudly, "we need a ship, Calico has one, we turn him over, we get his ship," Cid states, "Robyn is a thief, stealthy, we're not prepared for that," he continues, "the trio are dangerous, beyond our current abilities. Hold on 'til we're prepared for them."

He waits for her reply to the idea.

Erin grunts and gives Cid a look that says 'I can't believe you actually said that.' "I didn't mean all at the same time." She pulls the bounty flyers from her pocket and holds the first one up. "Him? We're going to do him first, turn it in. Keep the ship for ourselves." She flips to the next flyer and holds it up. "Her? We're not turning her in, we're going to recruit her." Then the last flyer. "After that there'll be three of us and we'll have some experience. Then we can go get these ones." She rolls them back up and smacks Cid on the shoulder with them before sticking them back in her pocket. "You really think I would just jump into something without thinking about it?"

One would think that a young man of paradise pink hair and emerald eyes would stand out while waiting in line; yet surrounded by throngs of weary and excited travelers from all over, even a young man of mixed heritage like himself just became another face among the crowds. Dressed in well worn but tasteful clothing he mingled with the anxious and weary travelers around him; it had started slowly, a kind comment and helping hand to a nanny trying to keep her wards in line, but soon gave way to anecdotes, humorous stories and jokes to appease the children and in time each other as bored fellows joined the fray with sympathetic comment or a humorous quip. Soon the awkward silence gave way to pleasant company despite the line they stood in, which seemed inch ahead at a slugma's pace; many of them were still tired or nervous of what awaited them at the journeys end, but at least the wait had become tolerable.

Yet few were quite as anxious as the young merchant that had sparked the meeting, for unlike the many others with whom he spoke he stood on the precipice of fate; he would likely fall upon his journey's end, or be faced with a trial who's magnitude was in all sense overwhelming. If he succeeded in this task he'd be the first to truly witness Sinnoh, the floating land of dragons and witches, and the very thought filled with trepidation and excitement; only his decade long experience restraining the nervous energies within, though it was fortuitous his cover complimented him so well. For despite it all, he was still the son of merchants, and once more that heritage would serve him well; for few would would dwell much on the excitement of a young merchant out to strike his own in a foreign land.

Though even with his training and experience the proposition still made him nervous, for too succeed would mind stepping being to reach of all of his kin. It would just be him, and his partners to face whatever fell things lingered in the witch touched land; the fact he'd be naked of all vestige of his office, and would not be able to reliably call upon Reinard for aid weighed heavily on his mind. As much as as he appreciated the crew's offer for assistance he'd declined for the most part fore he lacked the means to carry cargo with him once he'd reached Sinnoh; he would only be able to bring what he could carry himself, and could not risk the crew through something being found amiss about their vessel.

With a heavy sight the young man shook the dreary thoughts from his mind, knowing it best not to ruminate so long on his on the ordeal itself he allowed the welcome flow of amiable conversation to wash around him; the whole thing had been for just as much his benefit as it had been for theirs after all. His pack bore both the few belongings that would make the journey with him, and the wares he would be trading and selling along his trek; ye bore no proof of his station, no physical tie to the inquisition beyond Reinard. Even then his trusted partner was hidden away from sight, and hopefully beyond the reach of the Dragon's Scales as well, but only time would tell.

For now all he could do was keep calm, and pray.

Cid raises an eyebrow, silently conveying his skepticism, "...I meant to look for other bounties as well, we are unprepared," preparation was one of the key components of victory, it was one of the first things Cid's adoptive father taught him about fighting, "they know the terrain, we do not, they have beaten several pirate crews between two of them, we have not. Quality, not quantity," Dhaska nodded in agreement. He'd already spoken more today than he had since recruitment.

Erin groans. "I don't even see anything else remotely decent on the board. You pick something if it matters so much to you." Her irritability was expressed as a slight breeze picked up around her, barely noticeable. "I need a drink. I'll be at the bar if you need me." She walks off to get a drink and mumble to herself about pesky first mates.

Cid watches, and sighs, he'd meant over the next few days, it was unlikely the last one would be done before the week was out, so spending a few days to gather money and a proper, quality crew was his goal, and should have been Erin's as well. He turned to Dhaska and made a comment in their own method of speaking, I guess she's more reckless than I am.

Wisp
As you arrive at the house you realize that its quite old and rundown and seems to not have many possessions. Snow is all over and its fairly deep as if it hasn't been shoveled in some time. There don't seem to be any lights on inside the house.

Nicholas
The captain informs the line that the crew is almost done loading the ship and boarding should begin in the next ten minutes.

Your friendly treatment of people causes quite the conversations as everyone talks and socializes. It definitely helps that you understand Sinnohan. You learn that one man is from Sinnoh and he was going out to find some non-native pokemon for contests and he couldn't wait to see his family. He tells you he came from Hoenn and saw the strange unpopulated land and the weird tribes. One of the women tells you about her journey to Unovia and how she went to see all the different technology. Her opinion was that the technology was fascinating, but the people seemed to be very paranoid. Another woman from Sinnoh was coming back from Tohjo with a shipment of Tohjon Manga for her small import shop and notes that even with her long time doing business with people there she can still feel the judging she receives as a foreigner. She comments on how beautiful the country is, but notes how closed it is to travelers.

During your conversation with the woman who'd gone to Tohjo, you notice out of the corner of your eye a young child runs up to the woman who had been to Unovia and holds up her hand, "Mommy, mommy look!" She says as a small ball of light appears between them. The mother quickly tries to step in the way to block it and stop the visual light, but not before you noticed. The light is snuffed out by the time the child is visible again and the mother walks off with her daughter toward the restroom.

Erin
As you walk up to the bar, the bartender looks up at you and finishes up the drink he was currently making before handing it off to a figure at the opposite end of the bar as you. The bartender is an extremely big man, easily over six-foot tall and seems to be extremely muscular. He looks to be dressed in typical clothing for the Sevii Isles and wears a simple sleeveless low-cut tunic, some black pants, and a sash on which a sharp cutlass rests.

However, the other figure at the end of the bar looks quite different. The man seems to look the part of a warrior and two swords on him make it quite clear he most likely is. The first sword, across his back, seems to be a simple Unovian longsword, narrow and fast, but nearly the length of the man himself. The second blade on his waist, however, seems to be quite strange. The weapon is mostly black with redish flame-colored markings on the blade and a strange gem that seemed to glow as if a fire was in the gemstone. While the man wasn't as tall as the bartender and his muscles not as large, he was definitely well-built and athletic. Though his clothing style appeared plain and matched the typical Sevii Isles garb, his manner of sitting and drinking seemed much more refined. His hair was a strange white-grey color despite only being middle-aged and you could tell that his eyes seemed to skim the room and watched everyone in it, though the simple gesture was casual enough to not be noticed by most.

Cid
As you sit at your table you feel this strange sense as if you are being watched, but as you glance around the bar you don't see anyone watching you.

Hmph I doesn't look like there is much to be made here. I told you this was a waste of our time says Dark Wisp as the state of the home began to be apparent. Hmmm she may be right even if they could pay they could suffer some hardship and blame us for it if we charge to much adds Ghost Wisp not seeing any shiny bobbles about to catch her eye Even if we don't make much money we might learn something that will help us in the future thinks Amelia as she tried to quell the other two personalities so that they can concentrate on the job Like not bothering with mundanes that believe every illness to be some sort of curse, or that if we are too charitable people will think they can demand to pay us lower wages? *sigh*Well too late now. They might have seen us already if we turn back they could tell others of our behavior and it could harm any reputation we may have, and then we wouldn't be getting any jobs at all.

Wisp Then dismounts off susan and recalls him before walking up to the door with slippers hanging off her shoulder. She'll reluctantly take off her mask before knocking since people react better to her face than a shady travellers mask despite its stark pale color and if there is an awning over the front door she'll take off her broad hat too in order to appear more polite.

Cid projects a quick message to Dhaska to keep close and an eye out, he sensed someone watching, then goes over to Erin, Someone's watching, be careful, he says quietly as he takes a seat beside his captain.

Surprise played upon Nicholas' face as he watched the pair hurry off, sorrow playing behind his worried eyes. Why does it have to be children? he comments to himself sadly. It was a fact he always deemed unfair, so many of them had little to do with the powers they gained; and fewer still of the blights they were cursed to spread.

Shaking off the morose thoughts, and pangs in his heart, young Nicholas goes back to mingling; though he keeps an eye out for the young mother and her daughter, hoping to check on the pair.

Erin sits at the bar occupying a stool at the far end as she studies the big man serving drinks behind it. He didn't seem the type to put up with shenanigans. And since she was determined not to cause much mayhem, it wouldn't be a problem avoiding dealing with him. That was unless he made himself a problem to her. Which seemed unlikely, as long as he got paid for the drinks. "Something to peel the paint from a ship." She says, making sure she has his attention. It was a little early for heavy drinking, but she wanted a little extra courage to go after at least one of the bounties today.

The man at the other end of the bar though, he was far more interesting. She'd never seen someone like him before. And she was used to seeing unusual sights in the Sevii Isles. It was part of life. Two swords, and one of them looked magical. How much did a magic sword cost? How rare were they? And what was he looking for? These were all thoughts that crossed her mind before Cid sat down next to her. "I know. It's the guy across from us." Erin says under her breath to her first mate.

"Watching you, maybe, watching us, unlikely," Cid replies through the cloth covering his mouth, then glances at what she's gonna be drinking and grimaces, being part bug made getting drunk a painful endeavor, "it pays to be cautious in these parts," he turned his gaze to Dhaska, sending a message, then gets up, "I'll be outside, if you need me, yell," he says, then heads out only to go down an alley and climb to the roof while Dhaska flew up there himself, then he sat on the edge over the doorway, waiting for whoever had been watching him to make an appearance.

Erin smirked to herself as her first mate went outside. Didn't think he was special enough to watch, huh? "Like I'd let you on my crew." She mutters to herself and gives the man across the bar another look. What was it about him that caught her interest so much.

Wisp

When you arrive at the front door it opens a slight crack and you can see a short older lady with grey hair through the small crack. "What do you want, whippersnapper?"


Nick
The mother and the daughter turn around the corner out of sight of the people standing in the line to board the ship. The woman who had been talking to you finishes up, "So, what about you? Why are you heading to Sinnoh?" She asked.

Cid
As you step outside, you see a young beautiful girl who appears in her late teens or early twenties. She has long flowing red hair and piercing red eyes that constantly scan the area. However, while the woman is strikingly beautiful, it isn't her beauty that drew her eyes, but the gigantic sword leaning against the wall beside her. The sword is the most decorative and beautiful blade you have ever seen and seems to clash with the plain clothes the woman herself is wearing. The sheer size of it is larger than the girl standing beside it and it looks way to heavy for anyone in sight to be able to pick up.

Erin
The bartender steps away to make the drink and while you wait your eyes lock with the eyes of the male across the table for a brief second before he stands up and heads toward the door. When he arrives close to the door, he glances at the bounty board where you had taken down some of the bounties and skims it before looking behind him once more, though whether he was looking at you or the bartender is unclear. Then, the man steps out the door.

As the man exits, the bartender slides your drink to you.

Great Giratina she's old if we waited long enough she'll probably keel over my herself and then we can make a real profit I think she looks kinda cute in a little old lady sort of way *sigh* can we please concentra- Great Giratina she's looking at me! ok keep calm she doesn't look to hostile yet... why do you two always swear so much?

"Good morning mad'am" she says with a bow both to appear polite and to give her a brief moment where her face isn't visible to clench her teeth and suppress the urge to hide her face before returning to her original orientation "My name ees Ameliya Puchok, or as some like to call me "De Visp" I'm here about an ad looking for someone to help resolve a haunting. Are you Agedda Betrice?"

Cid looked over at the women, blinked, then proceeded to head up onto the roof, now keeping an eye out for the person that had been looking at him and keeping the other on the woman, Dhaska landed next to Cid but looked back on the roof, keeping his own eyes out for someone following Cid up to the roof.

"Oh me? Business mostly, Sinnoh doesn't do much trade with Unovia; though I'm hoping to change that, or at least bring back a few souveneirs. Though to be honest, I'm going to try do some tourism while I'm there; been a long, long time since the last time I left Unovia, kinda excited to go to a place like Sinnoh. The differences must be like water and fire! No clue where I'm going to start my trip, but I'm hoping I'll be able to plan a decent route once I know more about the towns and their goods," he explains cheerfully, with a hint of anxiousness at the proposition.

"Have you heard of any place you'd recommend?" he asked politely, putting the thoughts of the girl and her mother to the back of his mind for the moment.

Erin watches the man carefully as he moves. This could only be trouble, she thought to herself before sighing. She takes the drink and downs it, grimacing at the taste, she definitely got what she asked for. "Wonder what I've stepped in now. Maybe it's the old captain come back for 'is revenge. Just my luck." She sighs as she starts towards the door. Maybe she was wrong and nothing would come of it. Maybe she was a 600 pound machamp with bright green skin. Neither seemed very likely. Cracking her knuckles and then her neck, Erin only hoped she was capable of handling it.

Wisp
"I am. What's a young whippersnapper like you know about haunting?" She asked looking Wisp up and down. "A silly costume doesn't make you an expert. Cosplaying is for silly children!"

Nick
"Well, Sinnoh is pretty rough out in the wilds due to constant snow storms and their occasional dragon attacks." She says, "And they tend to keep a close eye on people. They say the dragon's eyes can see anything, so don't do anything that is against the law." The woman comments, "I've mostly stuck to Shelter Town where the Airships dock. I can do all my trading there with natives and tourists without having to go out in a rougher part of the country." She chuckles, "I'll tell you though, they have some weird people there. I mean, you get used to the people in the full snowsuits, but the Dragon Riders and their armor...and this one girl who shows up all the time with a weird Yamask cosplay fetish? It's interesting who you see working in a manga shop."

Cid
When you start to climb the roof, the young woman looks at you and raises an eyebrow wondering what the hell you were doing. She doesn't look for long and continues just looking around the area, but you notice that every so often she glances in your direction as if keeping an eye on what you were doing on the roof.

When you reach the top of the roof, you don't see much out the ordinary. You can see the docks from where you are where various people are working at fishing, loading and unloading boats, and various other jobs in a port town. After a moment, the man that was inside the bar with the two swords walks out the bar and scans the area before giving a small nod to the young woman who nods back. After a moment, he moves over next to her and they start conversing, though they are so quiet you can't hear what they are saying.

Erin
Nothing occurs as you head towards the exit. When you get to the exit you don't see Cid at first and can only see a few people going about their lives. You also see the man from the bar next to a young woman and they appear to be talking quietly. After looking around, you see Cid up on the roof for some odd reason.

I say we demonstrate our true power to this old hag You're not suggesting we hurt her are you? Why not? she gives us no respect she wouldn't pay us if we hurt her we should just show our magic not use it on her *sigh* no we want to get her to trust us not give her a heart attack you two just let me handle this...

"I may look young, but I'm actually 21, and I've studied, eenvestigated, and resolved hauntings as a vitch seence I vas a little girl ma'am, and as result I have developed a talent for understanding and calming ghost pokemon. The costume ees simply for the sake of the potential clients I may meet that vouldn't even consider me eef I didn't look "occultic enough" to them. Eet ees refreshing to meet someone vise enough to look past and not be swayed by simple appearances vhen making eemportant decisions. Your shinx must be very fortunate to have someone like you caring for eet." She says doing her best to cast the lady in the best light and hopefully influence her into giving her a chance.

"Well if I've learned anything over the years it's that the world has all sorts of people in it, and none see more of them than our kind," he comments in amusement, "Though when all is said and done, I might stop by your shop and pick something up. It's been far too long since I last had the chance to enjoy one of those books," he adds with a nostalgic air.

"Any tips for dealing with the locals by the way? I'd hope to avoid alienating any customers or potential suppliers if I can,"

[Jacior]

Erin's face turns red as she looks up at Cid. "I don't know if you were raised by murkrows or if you're just insane. Get down from there!" She half yells, half tries to whisper at the bizarre bug boy. She takes a couple deep breaths to try and calm down, then crosses her arms. For someone who didn't want to be watched, he certainly went out of his way to be the center of attention!

He raises an eyebrow, then trades a look with Dhaska, it was the universal 'what'd I do?' look, to which the bug just shrugged, he looked down, "not murkrow, beedrill," he says calmly as he strings his way down and Dhaska keeps a watch, "staying high gives a better view when watching for danger, like a murkrow's nest on a ship."

Erin sighs a brings a hand up to her forehead. "There's a difference between keeping an eye out for danger and advertising yourself. Just... try to keep a lower profile." She shakes her head. "Let's just go get my new boat. Then you can keep all the watches that you like."

"...in Orre its common practice, is it not in the islands?" Cid asks simply as Dhaska makes a comment down, getting a look from Cid, "Dhaska wants to know if you're still interested in the man across the street talking to the lady with the big sword."

"No, it's not a common practice to climb on top of buildings. At least that I know of, maybe I've been missing out all these years." Erin just shakes her head again. "Of course I'm still interested in them. But they're not doing anything right now, and I don't think we can take them, do you?"

"Grr...damn kids and you're stupid butt kissing. How often you wipe the brown off your nose?" The lady asked as she stepped aside. Clearly, despite her words she was flattered, "Still, at least you show some respect unlike the damn holligans with the eggecutes." She grumbled as she lead you through the house. "I just got him yesterday and he's been making weird sounds since last night and all this morning."

"Ohhhh do swing by! I'll be running a buy two get one free deal these next few weeks!" The woman says with a grin, "As for the locals, well, they're pretty independent and don't like showing weakness. As long as you make sure not to claim they NEED something and just encourage how useful it could be that would help. They also are very isolationist and thus like to keep things to themselves and that includes secrets. They hate nosy people who but into private matters."

Wisp politely and submissively follows the old lady through her house. She is focused on her job, but she is also paying close attention to her feelings incase anything else is supernaturally amiss aside from a growling shinx.

Cid looked at her blankly, then at them, "not likely. Was not my intent," he comments looking back at Erin, "my intent, was to talk to them. If they know anything about the bounty," he says as if it were obvious, they weren't known yet, they wouldn't take them serious unless they had reason too, and watching could be for someone seeing potential, someone seeing a threat, or someone seeing someone they find attractive, Cid wasn't sure, and he wanted to find out.

"And if they're the ones from the wanted poster about the three from that one island?" Erin says, patting her pocket with the flyers in it. She's talking more quietly now. "If they are, then they'll know we're coming for them. They'll be ready then."

"I meant for the one with the boat," Cid clarifies.

Erin just sighs. "You can talk to them if you want, I'll wait here." She leans up against the wall, half steadying herself from the alcohol.

"Just might take you up on that offer; always nice to help good buissiness flow. That said, if folks over there don't like nosy people I'm probably going to have my work cut out for me once I start asking around for good suppliers," he idly commented his turned away briefly from the conversation to check how the line was going; making sure to keep an eye out for the young lass and her mother or anything else of interest as he casually returned his gaze, not letting his gaze linger anywhere too long. He'd learned to deal with his restrictions long ago, but that made the situation no less irksome.

Cid gives Erin a look, then shrugs while he waves Dhaska down and walks over to the two, "...do you have a moment?" he asks simply, his voice still hoarse, though he seemed to be trying to force it to sound less so, with no real change to it.

Your intuition doesn't seem to be revealing much. You look at the Shinx and it seems to be lying down looking fairly weak. As you look over it you hear a growling sound and the woman quickly points, "THAT! It's been making that sound since I got it yesterday!" She says. You realize that once again a paranoid idiot who thought common things were haunted had wasted your time again. For that growl was coming from the stomach of the Shinx.

"Well, I meant more along the lines of being nosey about their personal matters. Like, back home we'd ask how family was doing, what people did as a job, etc etc. They don't see any reason to talk about that type of thing. It's business and survival with them." She says.

As you glance around you see that the crew has finished up final preparations and is thus letting people on and checking their tickets. The captain makes a call out and you see the lady and her young daughter come back and slip into the back of the line, though the mother seems to be keeping a tight grip on her daughter and is looking around nervously.

When you start to approach, the girl's feet seem to shift a bit and she seems to be more tense as she looks you up and down. You can feel a powerful fighting presence coming from her and it seems that she is getting on guard as if not trusting you. The male figure takes a slight step forward, putting himself just slightly in front of the young girl, though if it is to protect her or you is hard to tell. "Depends." The man says, his eyes looking you up and down as if analyzing ever detail about you.

"I'm looking into a bounty regarding a pirate that has... upset, a number of locals. I'm looking for a lead into his location," Cid replies, keeping his gaze level, "All I ask is for a point in the right direction."

Wisp knew she would get no where asking upfront what or if the old lady had been feeding the feline. She would have to make her inquiries sound closer to what the old lady is expecting. "hmmm... Wisp then makes like seeing this gives her a eureka moment. "Vhat has he eaten recently? particularly before the noises started. A spirit may have gotten een by hitching a ride on eets food."

The two fingers don't seem to be very charmed by you. The girl glances at the older male who simply glances at her then back to you, "I'd check by the docks." He said simply. "I've never met him."

Jack of the Stupid Name
The tribal lands of Hoenn are a mysterious land that few have charted. Those who have traveled there have found tribes of people who all have some connection to the elements. But what happens when a child is born without any connection to an element? Not every child has supernatural powers, but almost every child has at least some connection to an element even if it is simply feeling drawn to one type of pokemon. But Jack of the Son family was not like every child. While he did develop supernatural powers one day, they didn't seem bound to any element and instead drew from the power of Aura. Eventually, Jack decided to travel the world, feeling like he didn't fit in. It is at the start of his journey that we join the terribly named child of destiny.

As Jack arrives in the small port town of Charleston, originally a military outpost used for evasion, now a simple trading town, you notice that lots of people seem to be watching you. These looks range from ones of curiosity, to suspicion, to racism, and to wonder. While members of the native tribes did occasionally show up, very few came this deep in to town and even less seemed to be carrying their belongings and looking for a ship. At the docks are multiple ships all traveling to different lands. You can find a ship to any country except Sinnoh, though if you headed to Unovia or Tohjo you'd be able to get a rid from there to Sinnoh.

Jack looks around and the first thing he sees is everyone looking right back at him. His first initial thought was that there was something behind him. So naturally he turned around and upon seeing nothing he realized that everyone was staring at him. This was a new experience for him; being the center of attention, and he didn't appreciate it at all.

Trusting his gut which told him to ignore the weird looks and to carry on with what he came here to do. As he neared the dock he heard a group of sailors speaking in Tohjo. He then adjusted his course and started to talk amongst the sailors in there own language. “Ahoy there. I was wondering if I could sail with you to Tohjo.” He asks the sailors. He then looks over at the cargo, the crew, and the boat itself to see if there's anything he could use to prove his worth so they would let him aboard. He knew if he had to pay for this trip he would be screwed.

Cid keeps his gaze level for a moment before nodding, Dhaska flies up without him saying anything as Cid walks over to Erin, "Suspicious of us, but honest. They haven't met him before. We'll have to start at the docks."

Erin nods. "As long as you didn't give anything away, we'll be fine. I think." She pushes off the wall and has to take a step forward to steady herself. "To the docks then."

"What? That's silly! I don't have to feed wild Shinx! Why do I gotta feed this one?" The old lady complains as the Shinx noms on the jerky.

Erin and Cid
You make your way to the docks. The docks seem fairly crowded with all sorts of people loading and unloading ships. There are various pirates walking around barking orders to their crew and one ship in particular seems to be getting loaded with all manners of weapons and cannons.

"How much you willing to pay?" One of the crewman asks raising an eyebrow, "Tickets aren't free."

"Guess they musn't be too fond of neighborly type then huh?" he says conversationally as a relieved smile makes it to his face, both from the pair's return and the now moving line. "Oh good! Seems like it won't be too long before we can rest inside," he reports in a chipper note.

Erin pulls out the fliers from her pocket and picks out the one with Rauncer on it. "Let's ask around. Maybe someone knows something." She says, slightly messing up her words halfway through. Drinking so early without breakfast was a stupid idea.

Cid glanced at Dhaska, a simple message given, and let him fly farther up to look around, trying to spot the main from the bounty while Cid looked over at Erin with a bland expression, "...it said he recently acquired the ship, it is likely loading weapons on board..." Cid replies, his voice hoarse, it seemed to trail up to and out of the comment, making it sound like a loud whisper more than speaking. He indicates the ship loading weapons nearby with a tilt of his head, with the number of people he'd pissed off, it was likely he was stocking for battle more than anything else. Of course it wouldn't hurt to ask, but still.

"If he was any sort of intelligent, he wouldn't be in port at all." Erin says, bringing the paper back around to look at it again. "He did steal from pirates though, so you have a point. Let's go look." She walks over to where the ship was loading a rather substantial amount of weapons and looks for someone in charge.

The Shinx mutters a reply to Zorua indicating that it was from a Shinx mill nearby run by a breeder.

The lady lady grumbles, "What a pain! Fine, fine, what kinda meat do I need to give it?" She asked.

"That really all depends on how much money you got, savage." A tall, strong crew member remarks. "A couple of leaves and a mushroom isn't going to cut it just because its all you have."

Cid/Erin
The Beedrill flies up and starts looking around, though it takes some time. (Roll Perception Edro)

As the two of you look around, you see two men standing on the deck of the ship with the weapons being loaded. Oddly enough, they both seem to be dressed well enough to be captains, though they seem to be arguing.

"Nope, they'd feel you're being nosey." The woman says. "And its about time." She says as the lines move and everybody boards the ship.

Jack realizes that he going to have to convince them he would be an asset to them. Which isn't going to be easy seeing as they are throwing insults at him left and right. Ignoring them jack continues to plead his case.Let me tell you why you should bring me aboard your fine vessel. What I lack in funds I make up for in brains. I come from the water tribe, I have been around the sea and water my entire life and, I know a little bit about sailing. I have fought in the war against Unovia, I was a combat medic I could work as your medic on the ship in exchange for passage. I can also assist you around the ship by doing physical labor. I can speak couple of different languages as well. Lastly if I'm as savage as you say how did I learn your language and be able to speak it properly? He replies telling them reason after reason of why he would be an asset not a liability aboard their ship.

Slippers asks the Shinx if anything spooky ever happened around there and conjures a few illusions of miniaturized toned down versions of stuff he and wisp have encountered in the past to illustrate what he means by spooky hopefully without accidentally scaring the shinx.

Erin decides that's as good a place as any to try to find where the man might be. She walks up to the arguing pair and waits until they notice her, when she lifts up the flier and says: "Either of you know where I can find this guy?"

Cid follows Erin, and would have facepalmed if he didn't have his cestus on at the moment and if it wouldn't have made it obvious that he thought she was being reckless again, that seemed to be a running theme since he joined the crew. He settles for a short grunt of annoyance from a short distance away then walks over, letting Dhaska know they might end up having a fight and to be ready.

Dhaska's Perception was 11, rolled in the OOC.

"But you don't have any money?" One of the men asks crossing his arms as if not impressed. "As for your last remark, are you calling us liars? Or saying we're too stupid to recognize a savage?"

The Shinx shakes its head no before finishing up he food and looking for more.

The old lady grumbles, but writes down what you're saying. "Bah, fine, fine. Stupid shop is way back in town too through the stupid snow."

Jac/Erin
The two captains ignore you for a bit, but when you seem to be waiting one of them stops and glares, "What do you want girl?" The one captain says annoyed, "You just plan to walk onto our ship and think you can talk directly with a captain?" When Erin lifts the flier and asks her question, the man looks more annoyed, "That's it? You come up here, interrupt a meeting between two pirate captains to ask us a question about a small fry like? We're working on much bigger fish than that. Get lost!"

"...we wouldn't be here if you answered the question when we asked or told us you didn't know," Cid replies levelly, then Dhaska flies down to stand nearby, he looks over and looks like he asks a silent question, only to get a shake of the beedrill's head, getting a sigh from Cid, "Dhaska didn't find anything. We should move on then," he says to Erin, but waits for her to lead the way, she was the captain after all.

"I have a ponyta so I can take you to the shop and back if you'd like" Suggests wisp before she looks down at her weathered shoes and remembers that her last pair of snow boots wore out some time ago and all she has at the moment were these running shoes she normally uses for indoor work. She sighs and scratches the back of her head reluctant to admit her lack of preparation for a situation like this "err... actually do you have a spare pair of snow boots I could borrow? I'm afraid I'm in between pairs at the moment and susan can only carry one person at a time. If you don't have any boots I can still take you there to at least save you from the walking part of the long walk."

What are you doing? we were almost done why are you dragging this out... Amelia wants a new pair of shoes silly we are a girl after all... I never said I wanted a pair of boots as payment though I wouldn't object I'm just trying to do something to actually earn some pay since I doubt she will be too keen on paying for occultic services when there wasn't anything occultic going on.

Jack is rather getting annoyed at this point, these people are ignorant, and yet they may as well be the only way off this painful island. I never said anything of the sort. What you want to think is entirely your choice. After all your mind is your own. I do have money, but it isn't much. In my tribe if someone has something that the other person has we work as payment, instead of paying for it in credits. This is why I offered to work on your ship as a physician or as a deck hand doing the work none of you want to do.
At this his frustration is starting to get the better of him. It's on the verge of coming out but not just yet.
How many “Savages” do you know speak your language? Also this “savage” is getting rather annoyed, and you know what we "Savages" do when we get angry. We can sink boats, We can call Fire from the sky, and we can read your minds... Now ask yourselves this question. Do you really want this to happen to you, or are you going to take me to Tohjo and I'll work on the ship as a deck hand until we get there, and give you all the money I have? As I think they say in your country the ball is in your court gentlemen.

Erin would literally be steaming, if she could. "I happen to be the captain of my own ship!" She says loudly, almost too much so. "And what could be so damned large enough that the pair of you can afford to rude to the captain of another ship without thinking about who you're talking to?!" She almost turns her nose up at them. "I swear, people these days don't bother to think!"

"I got an older pair, but if I give them to you I'm taking it out of your reward." The older lady said.

Jack
The sailors don't look very amused by your threats and anger crosses their faces. Two of the men to your side reach out to grab your arms and hold you while two other sailors send out their pokemon. One of the pokemon is a greyish bird that appears to have a hard coat while the other is a big strong looking grey-skinned human pokemon with a belt.

The bigger man who seemed to be in charge cracks his knuckles. "Oh, guess we better make sure you don't try and sink our ships and burn our village then..." He says.

One of the captains seems to look annoyed, "You two really don't know anything about respect?" He says starting to reach for his sword. However, the other pirate puts out a hand to stop him. "Not now, save your energy." He says before looking over at the two of you, "You must not be a very big captain if I don't recognize your face." The man says, "And your question of who we think we are further showcases that." He says. "I'm Roger Thanos and this is Gregory Rancher." He says pointing at the captain with the much shorter temper.

You both realize you've heard those names before as one of the eight Pirate Lords. Rancher was known for his short temper and violent behavior. His most well-known action was the destruction of an entire Unovian Convoy because he felt that they hadn't spoken respectfully enough when they'd paid the few to cross through his territory. The other figure, Roger Thanos, was known for being much more calm, however, that calm persona hid a dangerous pirate known as The Lord of Death due to the rumors that he was unkillable. He was most well-known for always fighting on the front-lines with his crew and rumors said that in combat his calm persona vanished as he appeared a deadly beserker. You'd never seen any of the Pirate Lords yourselves however since they typically stayed in their own areas and had their fleets do their work for them. The fact that not one, but two Pirate Lords were here and talking amongst themselves as both their ships were loaded together seemed odd. If they were telling the truth about who they were, something big was going down.

Cid raises an eyebrow, "I'm not aware of the way humans perceive respect," he says, "I'm more used to the way bug pokemon go about it," he states simply, Dhaska circles over to stand next to Cid, who looks at the beedrill with an odd look, then nods, "I agree. We'll leave, and ask elsewhere," he turns to the pair of captains and nods to them before heading towards another ship, if Erin tries arguing he'd send a strand of silk to pull her along, preferably before she made things worse.

"That sounds fair" says Wisp agreeing to the deal as Zorua pats the shinx on the head and tells him the old lady should do a better job about feeding him now.

Erin tried very hard to keep her face from turning white as she heard the names of the captains she'd interrupted in the middle of something important. This could end very, very badly. She backed up a step and tried to think of an appropriate response. "Your... lordships? My apologies for interrupting. I would never have expected two people of your... renown to be at a port like this." She looks around and just starts backing up. Better to just leave and try elsewhere.

Once aboard the vessel Nick puts his things in his room for safe keeping before opting to walkabout the ship; hoping to stretch a bit after having been forced to stay still for so long, as well as to keep an eye out for the young witch he'd spotted earlier. While he couldn't handle the situation as well as he'd like, occasionally checking on the Prism would still serve him well; if nothing else it would hopefully allow him to nip any problems that might arise in the bud.

After all, the last thing any of them needed was for the witch to draw a wraith to them while in flight.

"Don't trip over your tail..." Gregory Rancher mutters under his breath as Erin tucks her tail to leave.

"That was hardly necessary, save the temper for the battle..." Thanos comments before moving back to his conversation with Gregory.

With the two of you leaving, nobody seems to pay the two of you any more attention.

Nick
As you wander the ship, you eventually hear some sounds that sound like the mother. "Alright, we're out of Unova, but still, can you stop doing that till we in Sinnoh?" The sound seems to be coming from below you. You glance down and see some grates. It appears the mother and the witch are down in the cargo area, most likely in an attempt to stay out of sight. The area is typically empty and nobody usually goes down there during flight.

Wisp
With plans made and everything worked out, the group of you begin the trek back to the town. Your Ponyta and the old lady have to take it slow due to your following on foot and the old lady makes sure to gripe about the cold weather and having to go out the entire trip to town. You get this odd feeling as you are half-way there, but it passes quickly.

Inside Wisps head Amelia just lets the old ladies grumbling roll off her back. Since the old grouch ultimately saw reason at least to some extent she wasn't going to complain about the missing filter between the elderly woman's mouth and brain as long as she is compensated fairly for the services she provides. Dark on the other hand is highly irritated by the old ladies "endless drivel", but she ultimately vents this by attempting to strangle Ghost when she starts impersonating the old lady because she found the ramblings "adorable".

When the odd feeling occurs Wisp does what she usually does in such situations and looks around and then takes note of her observations in her large book making sure to note her location and the relative direction of any movement or disturbances she observed for later investigation.

Erin stops at that. There was no way he actually just said that. "I'm sorry, what did you just say to me?" She starts, placing her hand on the hilt of her saber. "I don't care who you are, you don't get away talking to me like that. Apologize now."

As you look around, you don't see anything other than a small run down abandoned looking shack way off in the distance. You see some slight movement in the window of the abandoned house, but from his distance its hard to tell if it was just some drapes blowing in the wind or something inside.

Assuming you continue escorting the lady, you eventually arrive back in town and find the Pokemart fairly easily.

Cid/Erin
Cid's attempts to lasso Erin fail completely and all he succeeds at doing is throwing a lasso beside her.

"Piss off." Gregory says not even bothering to look back at Erin or Cid as he continues the conversation. Other than his words the only indication he was even acknowledging you was to shoot an obscene gesture in Erin's direction.

Cid sighs, "Erin, calm down," he rasped out as he snapped his connection to the thread, "I don't want you destroying another town before we get anything done," it was a bit of an overstatement, but it was a decent way to describe how she reacted last time.

Since it was her current job she'll continue to escort the old lady but she fully intends to investigate later after she has been paid. "Do you know anyding about dat shack over dere?" She asks the old lady on the way to the mart before it goes out of sight.

Erin's already red face blossoms fully to crimson as he both manages to ignore her and tell her to piss off at the same time. Then she heard Cid tell her to calm down, but his voice was far away. Cid blinks, and clicks his teeth in annoyance, an odd habit he picked up from his 'mother' when he was a kid, "...stupid," was the only thing Cid says before he draws in some extra power to his defense, and stands beside her, ready to set up a defensive line of webbing to slow down pursuers, he should be able to make enough to make a line across the pier.

Meanwhile, he has Dhaska focus his energy to make him a little more dangerous in a subtle way.

As the beam of lightning fires it slams Gregory in the back, knocking him forward. The burnt back of his coat reveals a silver light plate of armor underneath him that has a pretty decent dent in it from the impact. It was clear the strike had hurt, though he turns a look of pure rage and murder in his eyes. "Oh, I'm going to enjoy hanging you by your intestines girly." The man said as his fist cleched tightly. As his right hand clenches a steel claw slides down from his gauntlet showing a deadly bladed weapon with a strange substance coating it.

Then he lunges at Erin, the claw lifting as he swung. He was faster than he looked, surprisingly so. Erin could barely register the movement before he was behind her. Had he missed? Suddenly, a sharp pain can be felt in her gut. She nearly collapses as she feels blood burst out of her gut. Looking down one can see a very nasty cut that had slashed right through the right side of her hip. It was deep, very deep, and very bad. Crit, 71 poison damage, pre-defenses

"Oh dear..." Thanos says with a sigh as he shakes his head while calmly drawing the sword from his belt. Although he draws his weapon, he doesn't actually move offensively yet. "I really wish you hadn't done that. He's going to be a nightmare to calm down and I sadly need him alive at the moment. I'd have preferred to avoid blood shed until later, but..." He glances at Cid, "Boy, are you falling with her? You're standing against two Pirate Lords and you must see this is throwing your life away. If you want an intelligent captain forget her and join my crew."

"Eh? That old dump? No idea, been abandoned for a long time. Bratty kids claim its haunted." She said, "But those brats just like scaring other brats who believe them."

Cid remains silent, glancing at Thanos, "...loyalty is hard to come by... but something I value... she is my captain," and with that, Cid raises a hand and sends silk flying, one strand to pull Erin towards him, and eight to entrap the other, "that said, I don't intend to fight unless it is necessary."

A moment later, thread fires from above to partially entangle Gregory, Dhaska had taken the chance to attack.

Erin reacted on pure instinct when the blade plunged into her side, letting out a burst of static electricity into Gregory's arm. She looks numbly down at the bloody remnants of her stomach. She couldn't figure out how she wasn't dead already. She moved a hand to touch it and stopped, the pain striking her fully. The only reason she was wasn't screaming in pain was that she couldn't draw the breath for it. She looked back up at Gregory and didn't think twice before running off the dock and diving into the water, burying herself in the sea. She would have screamed again, if the salt actually bothered her wound. She takes a deep breath, the water no different to her than the air, and pulls the water to her, to heal herself.

When the claw slashes Erin, Gregory lets out a grunt as the paralysis shoots through him. However, despite the paralysis, when the web from the Beedrill flies at Gregory, he simply swings his sword slashing the thread in half. When he turns and sees Erin start to run towards the water he laughs, "You coward! You see I was right about you!" He mocks as he starts to step towards the water, but grunts when he finds the paralysis kick in.

"Foolish." Thanos says with a sigh as he shakes his head. "Noble and respectable, but foolish. We're pirates, boy. We don't follow the weak or stupid just because they called dibs on someone first. But, you've made your choice and I unfortunately need Gregory. If you both escape he'll run off chasing you. Image and what not." Thanos comments as he watches Erin jump into the water. He glances at the water as if debating sending in a pokemon, but in the end just looks back to Cid. "Well then, guess we'll see if she has the same loyalty to you." He says before joining the fray. The man was quick on his feet and you were surprised to see him jump down from the boat and land so close to you. His swings were precise, but lacked the ferocity of Gregory's. You had heard that he had a bloodthirst like that of a berserker, but if that was truly the case he didn't seem to be showing it. His strike hits, but the cut is nowhere near as brutal or powerful as Gregory's strike on Erin had been. However, you noticed that after he hit you a small bracer on his left arm seemed to glow. 36 normal damage pre-defenses

As mentioned you arrive at the town and the pokemart with nothing else memorable happening.

The pain only fades a little, as the water begins to heal her. What really stung was the insult he called out as she ran for the water. With a burst of bubbles from her nose, she launches herself up and out of the water, catching herself with the wind. "Strategy is not cowardice!" She yells, raising a hand from which lances an unerring bolt of electricity.

Thanos calmly avoids the poison sting fairly easily and slips forward to stab at Cid once again. Once again, the strike lands and another small cut is placed on Cid, as with before, the bracer glows upon his blade hitting. 32 normal physical

Gregory is hit by the shockwave which once again puts another dent in his armor. He still seems to be going strong however and glances smugly at Erin. "Is that the best you've got? I've fought armies, girl."

Cid grunts, before he backs up and spreads his hands again, sending more webbing out to make it harder for his opponents to move about, as well as set up a flanking position (Sticky Web).

In the meantime, Dhaska flies around and sends his own webbing to try and slow down Gregory even further.

Erin uses the winds to fly out and around the docks, putting her farther over the water. Swinging her arm to make a ring, a sphere of water forms and blasts towards Gregory. "I've heard the stories, so far I'm not impressed!" She seriously hoped they had no way to attack her from the docks.

Thanos glances at the webbing all around. "Adorable." He comments as he moves around it quickly and slashes at Cid's side. As usual, his bracer glows. Once again, the attack hits Cid, but the cut isn't deep. 36 Normal Physical damage.

Meanwhile Gregory smirks at Erin's remark, barely reacting as the blast of water hit him. When the web hits him and starts to slow him, Gregory snorts and slashes a bit of it off him. Pushing through the paralysis, the man's strong will surprises you. His body seemed to be clenching up and slowing, but despite being paralyzed he jumps over the web in front of him and takes a few steps forward. He glances at you, then suddenly his left hand (the one without the claw) swings up and a small dart goes flying right at your throat. Surprise at the dirty trick catches Erin off guard and the blade hits its target, the center of Erin's throat. She can feel a deadly poison starting to fill her veins, but the thoughts of poison are her least concern as the maiden's body goes unconscious and collapses into the water. Luckily for Erin the poison is quickly washed away by the water, unluckily for Erin the blade in her throat was still pretty bad. 47 physical poison, badly poisoned (Though poison goes away on faint)

With the plan finished and the woman taken back home, she hands over the boots. "Now scram, whippersnapper."

Cid's breath hitches when Erin goes down, the hit not phasing him much despite the power behind it, and turns his gaze on Thanos. He couldn't play defense any longer, it was time to heed the better part of valor and run, "I'm afraid this won't end well for either of us," Cid states simply as Dhaska zooms over to where Erin fell in the water, "and I need to help my captain," and with that, Cid gathers a massive number of threads into his hand and cocoons Thanos on the spot, "until we meet again," and Cid dives into the water himself, he'd drag Erin away himself all he'd have to do is stay underwater long enough to keep from being attacked.

As the web burst at him, Thanos's bracer glows and a magical shell goes around him blocking the threads. The threads burn on the magical barrier, and Thanos watches the boy charge off the edge. "I'm afraid its you this won't end well for." Thanos says calmly. "You can't hurt me. I'm immortal." He says moving a few steps closer to the water and glancing down into it.

"You just going to watch or kill him?" Gregory snapped at Thanos.

"I don't care either way. He never tried to injury me." Thanos says with a shrug, "If you want to kill him in addition to the girl, that's all you. The girl was the one that disrespected you."

"The boy stood to her defense and denied your offer to join him. Don't you feel insulted at all?" Gregory asked annoyed.

"Not really, if I got upset at each person who wasn't allied with me I'd have killed your entire crew by now."

"I'd have killed you first."

"You're welcome to try, but if you want to fight me know you'll miss out on the giant bounty as well as allow the girl to escape since the boy is on his way to save her." Thanos says with a shrug as he sheathes his sword.

"Useless cur..." Gregory grumbles as he slips out of his coat, showing a light armor plate underneath. He moves to the edge of the water, not jumping in yet and hurls another one of the deadly poisonous knives that had dropped Erin at the swimming form of Cid. The knife moves quickly and precisely, even through the water, and hits Cid like a torpedo right in the back of his neck. 38 poison physical, poisoned

As Cid is hit, he makes one last shuddering move to get to Erin before she could be killed, and blacks out, sinking down with the heavy clothing he always wore.

Dhaska starts to panic, seeing Cid fall below the surface, and starts darting around close to the water trying to spot him among the waves. Cid was first on his priorities, he could care less about Erin, she'd caused this whole fiasco as far as he was concerned.

"Still have that damn bug..." Gregory says with a cruel smirk as he draws a pokeball and tosses it into the water. "Jaws, find that bitch and bring her up. No need to be gentle, just bring me a body I can use as an example." The man says.

"Must you always be so brutish? Let the dead lie." Thanos says with a sigh.

"We don't know the skank is dead. Besides, I need a new figurehead for the Bloody Fang." Gregory said as the Sharpedo dove into the water and went for Erin's body. It bit hard into the body as it dragged her up to the edge of the dock. Once Erin was brought up, Gregory yanked the knife out her through and then slashed it completely. He spit on the corpse before looking over. "And where's the creepy bug boy?"

Thanos glances back down at the water and raises an eyebrow when he sees Cid's body. As Cid's body had sunk the various cuts and slashes had caused parts of the robe to sink faster revealing an interesting mark on Cid's back. He looked up at Gregory, "Ignore the boy, he'll make a good legend for people to tell. Assuming he doesn't drown." Thanos said.

"Enough people saw him, I don't need it for a legend." Gregory said stepping towards the water.

Thanos's sword was suddenly drawn and in front of Gregory. "Leave the boy. His story will help the legend." Thanos again repeated. "Get your corpse, get treated, and get aboard your ship." He said, his calm charming voice suddenly gone and a harsh serious tone replacing it. "He'll wash ashore and people will realize what happens to those that mess with you."

"What that they survive?" Gregory snaps annoyed at the blade pointed at him. He clenches his fist and readies his claw.

"You really want to start something know? Go ahead and crush the boy's hopes. You've killed his girlfriend or captain or whatever she was, you've sliced him to pieces, hell kill his pokemon if you want. There is no reason to kill him."

"You're going soft."

"Hardly, I'm being smart. People see him and they realize what we did." Thanos countered.

"They alre---" Gregory starts to say before he feels the sword move a bit closer. "We'll settle this after the island..." Gregory said with venom in his words. "You've made a big mistake Thanos." He threatened before turning back to the ship. "Jaws, kill the stupid bug." He ordered as he grabbed Erin's body by the hair and dragged her up to the ship.

The Sharpedo grins evilly and dives under the water quickly moving at the Beedrill. It lunges out of the water and slams hard into the Beedrill with a powerful bite. 81 normal physical (3 injuries if I counted right, cruelty activated to inflict another injury and do 2xinjury damage= 4 injuries, +8 damage)

As the Beedrill collapses into the water, the Sharpedo quickly attacks the bug finishing it off. When it starts to move towards Cid, Thanos glares at it and it growls before moving back towards Gregory who recalls it as he boards his ship.

Once Gregory and Jaws were aboard the ship, Thanos quickly takes a deep breath and lunges into the water. Unlike Gregory he'd gotten a good look at Cid's eyes and the mark on his back. The two were two much of a coincidence. He quickly swap up to the dying boy and grabbed him before swimming back to the dock. He threw Cid over his shoulder and made his way aboard his own boat quickly. They boy had been underwater for a while, so Thanos could only hope it wasn't too late. He moved down to the cells and set Cid down inside one before quickly sending for a few of his medics to treat Cid.

~~~Time Skip~~~
An unknown amount of time later, Cid awakens feel extremely weak and mostly naked (just pants, 3 injuries, sitting at 30HP). As he looks around he sees himself in a cell. The ground is rocking gently and he can tell he is on a boat at sea. None of his items are in sight and he sees a few strange runes carved into the wood of the cell.

Cid blinks a few times, then sits up while rubbing his head, this felt remarkably like when he'd washed ashore on Orre, only he was in a boat this time. He stands and has a look around, he knew that things were probably bad, Dhaska had been out of his pokeball, and being put in a cell... both he and Erin were probably dead, or at least unconscious and left for dead, either one was bad news.

Until then, he'd have to find his things, and hope he didn't have to fight while injured as he was. He sighed out, he'd have time to honor their deaths later, right now, he was likely in hostile territory and would need to make his own escape soon.

Wisp shrugs and puts the boots back before mounting susan and riding away. She had an investigation to conduct but it would be dangerous to just wander into it totally blind so she will head back to town and look for places where youths are gathering her intention was to find the "brats" the old lady was referring to and see what they know.

As you wander the ship, you eventually hear some sounds that sound like the mother. "Alright, we're out of Unova, but still, can you stop doing that till we in Sinnoh?" The sound seems to be coming from below you. You glance down and see some grates. It appears the mother and the witch are down in the cargo area, most likely in an attempt to stay out of sight. The area is typically empty and nobody usually goes down there during flight.

Nick stops as the mutterings catch his attention, for a moment the young man weighs his options carefully; the pros and cons of action and inaction dueling for dominance briefly before he comes to a decision, as curiosity and opportunity won the day. Taking a steadying breath the young man silently strides forth into the den of the beast, calmly heading towards the rough direction the voice had emanated from.

"Hello! Is everything okay?" Noah called out, concern clear in his voice as he made his approach.

The sailors don't look very amused by your threats and anger crosses their faces. Two of the men to your side reach out to grab your arms and hold you while two other sailors send out their pokemon. One of the pokemon is a greyish bird that appears to have a hard coat while the other is a big strong looking grey-skinned human pokemon with a belt.

The bigger man who seemed to be in charge cracks his knuckles. "Oh, guess we better make sure you don't try and sink our ships and burn our village then..." He says.


Saying something isn't the same as acting on it. Jack replies about to burst out and just deck all of these stupid people when suddenly two of them go and try and grab hold of his arms and hold him down. And he sees 2 pokemon have been brought out as well. He fights the two off and is ready to start this brawl.So that's the way you want to play it fine let's go! He shouts and focuses his fury into his palm and strikes one of the two sailors trying to hold him down in the chest stunning him at least temporarily.

He then grabs the poke ball from his belt and out comes Frogger. Frogger, Water pulse the pokemon with the belt. I'll take care of these two over here. he shouts, already getting into a fighters stance. Frogger takes aim and fires at the pokemon trying to give Jackson room to fight.

You wander around town looking. With no listed place to look and no dice rolls for tracking, you seem quite confused. It is possible they could be at the school house, but with a school full of kids how would one figure out which brats were telling stories?

When you make your presence known, the woman quickly turns and pushes her daughter behind her. "What do you want?" The woman asked suspiciously as her right hand slipped into her pocket.

As you look around for an escape, you hear a voice. "Captain! He's awake!" "Alright, I'll be right down." You recognize the second voice as the calm voice of Thanos.

Cain
Happy Birthday! Today was the start of an adventure for this 'monk' of Tohjo. With his recent birthday, Cain's day should have been one of celebration with family and friends. However, Cain's 'family' wasn't exactly the most friendly of families and living in monastery had some limits on the friends one would make.

But today would be different and as such Cain was planning to use this day to start a new adventure. As he left the monastery and traveled to the nearby town, he couldn't help but overhear various rumors. Apparently one of the Council of Seven was arriving today and rumors said he was going to the monastery to look for someone to join his army. Other rumors told of a foreigner who seemed to be getting close to the Emperor. This was strange as foreigners were typically not trusted in Tohjo. What could this new foreigner be doing to get close to the most powerful man in Tohjo. At the same time, other rumors told of a fight that had broken out between a group of people waiting to enlist in the Tohjo army. Cain recalled passing the recruiting station often and always seeing massively long lines. People in Tohjo had a strong sense of duty and fighting for one's country was expected of one.

The grey human-shaped pokemon jumps at Froggadier and swings his hand down in a crushing karate chop, but the frog pokemon quickly leaps out the way. However, the sudden avoidance threw off his water pulse and the attack goes flying wide and slams into a nearby stall. A merchant curses and yells out racist remarks about you being a savage as his shop is ruined and he quickly ducks behind it while yelling for help.

Meanwhile, the one you threw a force palm at grabs your wrist and punches you hard in the face, easily avoiding your attack and launching a counter attack 23 normal, physical damage. The other one kicks at your leg attempting to trip you, but you are able to avoid his attempt.

The captain jumps on top of the grey bird who flies up in the air and rains down shiny stars at your frog. 26 Normal Special Damage. The Captain in the meantime, pulls out one of those strange Unovian boomsticks and fires a projectile at you. However, the flying motion of the bird mixed with the inaccuracy of his older model weapon cause it to land right at your feet instead of hitting you.

"Easy there mam, not here to hurt ya; I'm just checking up on ya. I heard some odd noises up top, and I wanted to be sure no one was in trouble down here" he starts sincerely. The young man raising both hands with open palms towards them peaceably to show himself unarmed as he took a step back to give the haggard mother some space, and hopefully some peace of mind; no need to scare her or her child into doing something desperate after all.

"Is everything okay mam? You do know passengers aren't allowed down here with everyone's baggage right?" he prods as he studies the mother carefully, keeping an eye open for her her daughter might be.

Cid's gaze trailed over to where the voice had come from, that explained why he was on a ship, the fact he'd been in the water when he lost consciousness pointed to him being pulled out, and treated apparently. It also meant that his earlier thought of Erin and Dhaska being dead was more likely, Cid simply closed his eyes, and sent a short prayer for his brother to be at peace in the afterlife before returning his attention to the present.

You don't see anything, but based on the way the mother is standing you suspect she has some weapon in the pocket she reached for. The daughter seems nervous as she hides behind her mommy.

"Why do you care? You aren't a crew member." The woman says, suspiciously.

Cid
A few minutes pass and down the steps comes Thanos, looking fairly calm. "So...your last name happen to be Belmont?" He asked as he tosses a fresh apple to you, the apple just small enough to fit through the bars.

"..." Cid doesn't immediately reply, but takes a moment as he catches the apple, "yes," he replies after a few moments, "...Erin and Dhaska... they're dead, aren't they?" he asks a few moments later.

Wisp rides by the school house taking care in her selection of which direction she approaches from so as to peer in as passively as possible hopefully looking like nothing more than a weather weary traveller passing by. She is hoping she'd catch them on a meal break or something and inquire with their instructor who would the ones telling stories about that house be.

"This is my first time on an airship mam, but if there's one thing I know is that their dangerous; all this stuff?" he began as he gestured towards all of the baggage and crates surrounding them, "If we hit a rough wind, something that can happen with little to no warning, any of this stuff could fall on us. If one of them had fallen on your daughter, would you rather I'd have ignored the weird noise I'd heard? Just pass it off as the ship settling, and leave you two to fend for yourselves until a crewmate happened by or something else fell or caught one of you?" he questioned before shaking his head tiredly.

"I came down here because bad things happen with little warning; to any one, any when, for little to no reason. And personally, I'd like it if someone came by to help me on a hunch if something bad happened to me. Besides, better me than a crewman who might get rightly miffed at both of you for being down here right?" he joked, trying to inject some levity into the situation.

"So, are you two okay?" he asked once again as he studied the pair, "Would it help if I emptied my pockets, and took off my boots?" he offered up, hoping to make the pair more comfortable with his presence; or at least no longer consider him a an activethreat.

Cain stood and looked at the town. Many times he'd run to here, trying to escape the psychopaths that were his family. He shuddered thinking of the punishments he'd received for trying. But he thought he'd almost gotten away with it once. So it really hadn't stopped him from trying... multiple times. He sighed. It never worked though. But not anymore! They'd decided to let him go on his own journey, as long as he'd promised to write and send back exotic spirits.

One of the rumors he was hearing stood out more than the others. One of the Council of Seven was going to be in town. Maybe he could intercept him on the way to the monastery and join up before the others got a chance. If he did that, he might be able to follow up on the second mysterious rumor. A foreigner getting close to the Emperor! It was nearly impossible to imagine. But if it was true, it was something worth seeing.

With a lively step, he keeps on his way to town. The best time to approach the Council member would be before he came in to town or as he was leaving. It'd be better to be there before him either way.

"Assuming those are the names of the girl and the Beedrill, yes." Thanos replied. "So who is your father? I was unaware of any younger Belmont's."

Wisp
You barely avoid drawing any attention, but your route makes it difficult to spot anything in particular. You see a taller figure with long hair teaching a punch of sitting small figures. Your angle and distance makes it hard to tell anything specific.

Nick
The lady keeps her hands in her pocket, but at the same time hasn't actually drawn anything. "We're fine and we won't be down here long." The mother says. "Now is there anything else?"

Cain
As you arrive outside the city entrance you see massive crowds and long lines along the edge of the road. Clearly they are all wanting to see the legendary man, but at the same time they know better than to block the road of such an important man.

Jack
The bird is hit and wavers a bit, but doesn't seem too badly injured. The man on top, grips the bird and gets its flight under control before pointing his weapon at the frog pokemon that had attacked and firing at it.

The shot hits the frog pokemon dead center in the chest. 23 normal, physical.

Meanwhile the mooks dodge your attacks and attack you again. Once again one trips to trip you, however, this time its not as easy to jump over it. (Combat check, roll higher than 10 to not be tripped).

The other attempts to punch you and hits you in the face. 18 normal physical.

Meanwhile the two pokemon keep up their assaults. The grey skinned humanoid pokemon drops low and tries to sweep your pokemon who BARELY avoids the kick with a last minute evasion. (He was in mid-air from dodging that when hit by the captain's bullet).

The bird pokemon, however, rains those annoying stars down upon your head. (Crit, 37, special, normal )

"..." Cid furrowed his brow, then calmly replies, "I have little memory of my life before I washed up on Orre's shoreline," he states, "I was raised by a beedrill until I met Jackel Reacher, he took me in, and is the only father I've known."

Nicholas nods once casually, "Good to know, though if you guys are okay; why are you down here?" he asks with a raised brow, "You two aren't stowaways are you?" he adds curiously with some concern, with a notable lack of apperant threat or edge in his voice.

Cain joins the crowd, weaving and pushing his way to the front. He needed a way to get the carriage to stop and notice him among the common folks without getting run over. Or beaten by the man's guards, which he was sure to have with him. It didn't really matter until he got here anyone... It gave him time to think up a plan... It was too bad that this kind of thought wasn't his forte.

Wisp assumes what she sees means they are in the middle of a lesson as interrupting would do give her more trouble than solutions she instead rides back to the job board to see if there was anything she could do in town to pass the time until the school bell tolls. She'll still keep an eye out and her ears open for other children in the hope that maybe she'd get luck.

"Hmmm...a shame, that makes things difficult." Thanos says. "Well, I'll have to see what I can find out. How old are you?" Thanos asks as he thinks, clearly gauging who would be near Orre.

As you make your way around and think of a plan you overhear various voices, "I can't believe he's using THAT monastery to try and recruit." "I know, but one would assume a Councilor knows what he is doing." "Yes, but most the people there are...well, you know." "I know, but a Councilor typically recruits Samurai among the monks around the world..."

Wisp
As you look around, you find that your mask seems to be getting loose and making it a pain to see through. You don't see many kids, but then again you can barely see the back of your hand at the moment.

Throughout town you see various people running shops, cleaning their houses, or going about their day. Most seem to ignore you, having grown used to your appearance.

Eventually you arrive at the job board. It seems fairly tame. A few small requests to deliver things here and there. Some requests for people to shovel snow off the walkway to their house. A couple requests to pick up somethings at the shops for different people with payback and a tip. And various other odds and ends. While they are some jobs to make some money, none of them seem to imply haunted ghosts or anything supernatural.

"...Nineteen years, seven months, and three weeks..." Cid replies, pausing only a moment, a very precise time frame, "give or take a few weeks," okay, not as precise, but definitely narrowed down, "my mother knew how to track my age, Dhaska never picked it up so my memory has slipped on it as of late."

After fixing her mask with a frustrated grunt that makes her gnarly old scarf seem to twitch on its own she looks at the job board and thinks *sigh*other than that old house this place has gotten boring. It might be time to move on after this investigation... I vote somewhere with a hot spring!... don't get your hopes up getting one all to your self is probably really expensive Amelya is to shy and stingy for that... Just once I'd like to think to myself without talking back to myself... Having plenty of time she will look over the jobs carefully if one of those jobs are to deliver to, pickup for, or shovel the walk of the school then she'll take that job in a heart beat otherwise she'll ultimately decide to do some pickup and delivery jobs to places closest the school's neighborhood so she can get there fast when school gets out and at least make some money at the same time(she isn't one to shovel snow unless its for a person or place she is trying to get access to). Since these jobs are giving her an excuse to interact with people she will try to find out if the people she winds up conducting business with know anything about the old house the old lady pointed out.

Nick nods in understanding, a bit surprised the woman had recognized him given how frantic she'd been, before flashing a bashful smile, "Well, good then! Still probably best we all head top side, and you two finish your chat upstairs," he suggests as he sobers up from the faux pa, "I meant what I said earlier, this place can be pretty dangerous even if you're used to boats; and if anyone finds ya down here and something goes missing, things won't go well either. Best to avoid it if we can," he adds sincerely, not wanting the young prism or her mother any where near such a stressful situation while in flight if he could prevent it.

Cain could almost feel his face turning red, but he pushed it back down. The reputation his masters gathered made life difficult in the best of times. Which only cemented that he needed to stop the Councilor before he reached the monastery, but how?! He crossed his arms and tried to think... Jumping in front of the carriage wouldn't do so well. Maybe... He could meet the carriage out on the road. It was less likely to get him beaten... if he did it right. Yes. That was a good plan.

He waits around town, on the side where the road led to the monastery, until he hears murmurs that the Councilor was coming. Then he leaves to go and wait farther up the road. Down on one knee, no less.

"That's fairly precise for a give or take." Thanos notes. "Anyways, since you don't know who your father is that makes things a little difficult as I decide what to do with you." Thanos comments, "I'll need to send out inquaries and see what I can dig up. I do apologize, but you might be stuck here for a while." He says, "Still, I don't want to be a terrible host, is there anything I can get you to make you more comfortable?" The man asks.

"Your concern is noted. We will head up momentarily. Goodbye." The woman said. You then see a small flicker out of the corner of your eye to your left near some other crates.

As you go about doing side jobs delivering things around, you make ^1000 poke. As you casually chat up people you hear lots of conflicting details about the house. Some say it was owned by a man, others say by a woman. Some claim owner left, some claim the owner was killed by some creepy pokemon. Some claim the pokemon is haunted by ghosts, others claim its haunted by pokemon to vile to speak of. Some claim the house is cursed by the gods, others say its just a silly abandoned house and its just rumors.

As you wait farther up the road it takes a few minutes for the carriage to get through the chaos at the front gate. You're part of the road however is fairly empty as its just out of town a ways before the monastery. After waiting, you finally ear and see the carriage make its approach. In front and behind the carriage are a group of samurai on horses with the flag of House Blackmoor. The samurai glance at you, but seeing you keeled and not in the way they merely watch you and keep going. The carriage starts to pass you.

Cid takes a few moments to think, "...a drink, with honey," he replies simply, his throat wasn't at its best, and honey in particular helped to calm an irritated throat, "and a shirt," being in only a pair of pants wasn't the best position to be in. He didn't bother to ask if they'd bring him his pokeballs, that'd likely be too much, and Shrowa would probably try to take her grief out on Thanos if she thought he had anything to do with Dhaska's death.

However, he does extend his senses, particularly his sensitive sense of smell, to see if there are any bugs he can call on, he could command weaker ones with ease, they wouldn't help him to escape, nor would he try against opponents such as this, but they'd at least be able to tell him what was going on and look about for him.

With it almost time there is nothing left for Wisp to do but watch the schoolhouse and wait for the teacher to finish her duty of seeing the children off before Wisp can attempt to speak with her. Despite her efforts her best lead short of jumping into a potentially haunted house blind is still gossiping children, and given the vague and conflicting nature of the rumors so far it seemed less and less likely that research was going to be of much help.

When the carriage just starts going by, Cain quickly hops to his feet. "Your Lordship, there is no need to travel any further!" He calls out and starts walking to keep pace with the carriage. "I am Cain Malkav, a monk of the Odila Monastery. I am more than enough if you are looking for a single monk."

You arrive at the school just as various kids are running out the door. Some are running for the playground, others are running into town, and some are just sitting around inside reading or doing homework. The teacher appears to be a young girl with blonde hair and long hair down toward her butt. She is sitting inside with the students who are inside while keeping an eye outside to watch the kids on the playground.

Cain
"Hey, back off!" One of the mounted Samurai says moving closer to try and cut you off. "Don't get too close to the carriage!" He says. Though he hasn't drawn his weapon yet, one hand is on the katana at his belt in case you pose to be a threat.

However, the carriage stops pretty suddenly and the door to the back suddenly opens. You can't see the door very well due to the Samurai blocking, but you see a pair of stilettos (the shoes) as one foot appears on the steps that lead out of the carriage and another steps on the ground. Above the stillettos you can see the outline of a slender pair of legs. Those definitely aren't males, but who else was in the back of the carriage with the Councilor? The door shuts and you can hear a soft 'ahem' sound. The Samurai quickly moves aside, "Mi'lady, I m---" But the raise of a hand for silence causes the man to be quiet. In front of you is a striking red-headed female with very noticeable assets, enhanced by the corset she is wearing. Her midriff is bare and her skirt goes to about ankle length in the back, though in the front goes just a bit below the knees. On her waist is a very deadly looking, but extremely beautiful katana on her left hip and a sharp looking stiletto (the weapon this time) on her right hip.

She is holding a piece of paper in her hands which she looks at before looking at you with a bored expression. "Hmm...and what makes you think you know what I want more than me?" She asked her tone further showing her boredom with you. Her words seem to imply she was the Councilor, but you had heard all the villagers say "he" and hadn't heard of a female Councilor before.

"Seems simple enough and you didn't ask for anything foolish." Thanos says with a nod before calling for a deck hand. "Bring him a shirt and some honey." Thanos adds, "And some fresh water." He adds on. "Alright, well, we'll deal with this after we finish up our mission." Thanos says, "Feel free to ask the deck hand any questions when you arrive, though be aware he'll be informing me of your questions so don't try anything foolish."

As you reach out for the insects you can't pick up very man. You find some small senseless ants and spiders, but any bug pokemon seem to be either non-existent or in their pokeballs.

Shortly after Thanos heads back up the stairs and onto the deck, a young girl stumbles in trying to balance a shirt, some water, and some honey while the ship lightly rocks from the waves. "Opps!" She says as she spills a bit of the honey. "Sorry!" She says before handing you a now half-full glass of honey, a glass of water, and a old plain looking shirt.

Aww aren't they cute? The teacher too... For some reason I was expecting someone older? *sigh* It must be nice to live a life where you can grow your hair out without a care... Thinks Wisp with a mild degree of envy for those who were more fortunate in their upbringing, as she takes a deep breath and prepares herself for some inevitable stares.

She'll recall susan and walk up the schoolhouse door. When under the awning that protects the threshold from falling snow Wisp will remove her hat and mask, and knock quickly hoping someone will be prompt in answering before her anxiety gets to bad.

Less than thirty seconds later, the door opens and the young blonde woman, who appears no older than twenty-two, stands before you. "Can I help you?" She asks politely.

Cid blinks, and shakes his head with a small smile as he takes the things off her hands to make sure she doesn't drop them all over herself, she reminded him of Nimara, one of his beedrill siblings, she was one of the older ones, she'd have her own nest by now, "thank you," he says, a softer, reminiscent look on his face as he returns to where he had been seated against the wall. He sets down the water and honey and pulls his shirt on, then mixes some of the honey into the water, and sets it aside for the honey to dissolve before he'd start sipping at it.

He turns back to see if the girl's still there, not really sure what he'd do if she was still there.

"Yes ma'am, my name is Ameliya Puchok. I was hoping I could speak to you about some rumors that I understand some children have been spreading, and hopefully gain your assistance in possibly identifying them. The rumors concern an abandoned home just outside of town and the possibility that it may be haunted. Once I've gathered sufficient information I intend to investigate it personally and either disprove the rumors or resolve the haunting" She says in an upfront and professional manner with nothing to hide... well other than growing irrational anxiety... hopefully this conversation gets taken inside.

Cain is more than a little thrown off by the appearance of the female Councilor. "My... Lady, I would never presume to tell you what you want. But I can promise that the rest of the monks at the monastery are... eccentric, to say the least." He didn't look her in the eyes while saying that, choosing an inconspicuous spot on the carriage by her shoulder instead. "I would have to say that your experience there would be... less than pleasant, I feel."

The girl is indeed still there, though she looks unsure what to do other than just stand there. "Umm...Captain Thanos wanted me to answer any questions you might have and see any other requests and get anything you might need and ummm..." She pauses and appears a little unsettled, perhaps because of your creepy bug boy nature?

Wisp
The young lady sighs and steps aside to let you come in. "I know the rumors, but I can't encourage you to look into them. The town had sent some people before, but they never returned. Some supernaturals tried to investigate, but all they could find out was that they were dead. Rumors didn't help after one clairvoyant tried to scry the house from afar and suddenly started coughing up blood and died..." She said slightly shivering. Odd that she'd shiver from just a rumor which implies she must have actually seen the clairvoyant die. "No good can come of getting involved there..."

At your reaction, the woman smirks, especially as your eyes dart around looking for a spot. She crosses her arms as you speak, putting one hand to her chin. You can' help but notice that this just pushed her breast a bit to make them even more noticeable. As she taps her chin as if just thinking she looks towards the direction of the monastery. "Ah, so you don't mean to presume what I want. That is good. Though it sounds like you presume that I am ignorant of the location I am going. Is that a correct assumption or am I again mistaken?" She asked, her tone that same bored tone. "And what makes you think I don't enjoy things that are...less than pleasant?" She licked her lips at those words.

hmm.. Scrying shouldn't work like that... elaborate ruse?... bad timing?... Or something new...

"You seem to have a clearer picture of the events surrounding that house than most. Others I've talked have given me mostly vague and conflicting stories." Wisp says as she steps in. Her curiosity beginning to out weigh her anxiety "Your concern is noted, but you need to understand. I don't want people to think supernatural phenomenon is something that can not be understood, and therefore must be feared. I can't simply let a mystery like this go. So what is your name miss? It would be rude of me not to usse your proper name at least once over the course of this conversation."

Cid nods at that, then moves a hand as if to offer a seat, "...you can speak frankly," he says, "...should you have something to say," he adds only a moment later. It was much easier for him to speak using the pheromones he could produce, most humans couldn't even produce them, so he rarely ever tried to talk that way outside of bug pokemon, "...I'd enjoy the company..." he admits, he always had someone around before, he didn't much care for being alone, it was the main reason Dhaska had been out of his pokeball, some company when he'd otherwise be alone.

The school teacher looks to the side. "The clairvoyant was my fiance, so I was pretty close to him." She says with a sad frown. "And my name is Alice." She mentions, "And I realize you might be investigators, but its still very dangerous and everyone else has died." She said with a sigh, "Someone left this morning and I'm pretty sure she hasn't returned either." She says glancing out the window in the direction of the shack.

"I'd prefer to stand..." She says glancing at your wrist as if worried they might shoot web out at any point. "And I'm here to answer your qu---" She starts to say before nearly stumbling over from a rock of the waves. You aren't sure how she can be on a ship so often and yet stumbles at the lightest wave.

Cid chuckles lightly, he'd seen this before, before starting to cough. He reaches for the honey water and takes a few sips to calm the coughing down. Once the coughing had died down, he speaks again, "...you'll be waiting a while... I rarely need much..." then he comments on her discomfort, "I won't do anything... can't really... sit... please..." the last word he adds in a little late, though it still sounds like it was meant to be in earlier, he sips from his water again, and sets it down within reach. It didn't help that his voice was so rough all the time. Regardless what she does, "...you can ask me questions if you like... might make you less uncomfortable..."

"I see... I was passing by there earlier today escorting the old lady agatha to the shop so that she could buy some food for her shinx when something drew my attention to that shack. It might have been that other investigator. So does anyone know how exactly the other investigators aside from your fiance died? What about pokemon do they meet the same fate? Aside from the disappearances and deaths is there any other unusual phenomenon associated with the shack? and finally if this place is so dangerous and claimed so many victims why hasn't it been destroyed yet? by all appearances it's a wooden shack, wood does burn, and it would seem that it has left enough grieving secondary victims that someone is bound to act irrationally." inquires Wisp.

The girl seems leans against the wall, rather than sit and looks around. "Why do you talk like that?" She finally asks after a moment of silence.

Wisp
"They've not been seen from. Any investigators that went out personally never returned. Any that tried to scry would cough up blood and die. Medical examinations would find the bleeding came from the brain." She says. "Details on the shack on lacking because people don't come back. As for why its not been destroyed, it wasn't just investigators that have left to check it out. People have had that idea and gone to destroy it, to vanish as well." She says, "The only times anyone has ever returned they'd be found dead with no noticeable injuries. They just seemed to have their life sucked out of them. They were simply drained, aged, and weak looking with no outside injuries. And the next night the shack would be back as if it hadn't ever been destroyed."

She glances back towards the classroom. "It's far enough away from the town that messing with it isn't worth the lives that get lost every attempt. Somebody would have to actively head in its direction by going off the main road in a direction that nothing else is. Do you know how many of these kids are orphans because their parents got the bright idea to mess with something that shouldn't be messed with?" She asks. "Its safer to just leave it alone and focus on the families and children that we we have here."

She pauses, "Is there anything else? I don't want to speak about this in front of the kids and I don't want to leave them unwatched for too long."

When Alice mentions the draining Wisp can't help but be surprised causing her scarf to bluster for a moment as if caught by a gust of ominous wind despite the air in the room being still damn... not this again... she thought remembering the scene she found almost 8 years ago how everyone in the village she hated so much was gone... drained... It was a mystery she could never solve, or maybe she didn't want to those people got what they deserved afterall, but this place is better if the same thing were to happen here...

"One last thing how long ago did all this start happening?" She says already putting her mask back on in preparation to depart.

Cain's face slowly grows more red as she keeps talking. Even his training couldn't stop him from blushing at a sight like this. "Y-You are correct, Mi'lady. I would think that if you were really away of the monastery's reputation, you would welcome the chance to avoid visiting it." He alternates between looking at his own feet and hers. "I-I..." At this point his face was beet red all the way back to his ears. "I don't!" He nearly yells, his voice cracking.

"The place first appeared about..." She pauses trying to think, "Well, I was a kid so I don't remember exactly, but I'd say a few years after the Kalos thing so probably somewhere around eight or nine years ago?" She answered unsure. "Though it didn't get much attention until people started investigating a few years back. Shortly after the Kalos incident people mostly just ignored others and avoided strange things. About four or five years ago someone went up to be neighborly and didn't come back. People got concerned and sent a few investigators but found it abandoned, a few days later those investigators would turn up drained as if some sickness had killed them. More time passed and it repeated. Someone went up to check it out or see about moving in and never returned, investigators went in and either vanished as well or came back with nothing. We started to suspect some plague, so a few months ago, my fiance Nios decided to try and scry after someone vanished and..." She trailed off. You knew what happened. Her hand slightly drops down to her stomach as she sighs, "And since then people have mostly not gotten involved."

The woman seems amused as your blushing, "Why are you so red? Is something bother you?" She asks. "Perhaps I want to go to the monastery BECAUSE of its reputation. Would that be possible?" She asked. "And you don't what?" She asked with a smirk, clearly realizing what you were referring to, but trying to make you talk more, most likely to have more fun at your amusement. It was strange how she could be seeming to have so much fun with you, yet sound so utterly bored.

"Well you can rest easy knowing you've talked me out of it then. I know when I'm in over my head. I found a small village of bodies drained where the stood in my travels once and I could never figure out how it happened spooked even me... It is my personal opinion you find a new town to call home though I don't trust an unknown element to remain passive and dormant forever. Either way I know I'm leaving town tomorrow this was my last investigation before I considered this place dried up, hearing news like this just reinforces my belief that its time for me to move on to the next town. Thank you for your time Alice and good luck." She says as she dons her hat and lets herself out. Her words were complete tauros crap of course She had every intention to investigate, but she didn't want to bring the girl pain thinking she sent another person to their death. She just couldn't ignore this what would happen to the motherland... her home... if phenomenon like this spread? She'd either die or get thrown to the outside world and its "inquisition" thats what. She'll take a roundabout route to the shack on susan just incase her movements ever find their way back to Alice.

The woman sighs and doesn't seem to believe you (dealing with kids all the time must have some impact on intuition), but she knows she can't stop you and heads back to the kids. As you head to the shack, you start to approach and a strange fog rolls in making it hard for you to see further than 5m in front of you. You estimate from the last time you could see the shack that you are still about forty meters away.

Wisp conducts a small test. She rides forward a few meters until some of susans foot prints are lost in the fog and then back to see if they remain after going out of sight in order to determine if she can keep track of where she has been.

When you head back you can't see any tracks. In addition to the fog, its starting to snow pretty heavily.

Wisp sighs this was going to be harder than she thought even to get close. Wisp Susan and Slippers(still on wisps shoulder) all have their senses peeled as they slowly make their way forward.

Well with rolls like that how do you expect to find your way out? Hopefully you're better at survival or possibly using your occultic knowledge to try and sense the center point of the strange magic. (Though keep up with the perception rolls :P ) As you slowly make your way around in the snow lost you step on something small and round almost like a pokeball. However, when you look down there is a bright blast of light blinding you, Susan, and Slippers for about ten seconds. You feel a slight tug and when you can see you realize your hat and backpack are missing.

"Umm...sure?" The girl says.

Wisp flinches in the bright flash but is happy she is covered. She isn't happy when she realizes her backpack is gone. Her notes! her change of clothes! HER MANGA! But most importantly her notes they contained everything she discovered she can't afford to lose them she had no choice now but to keep going. Just a bit smarter now.

grrrrr Dark if you would be so kind?... a chance to strike fear? with pleasure Wisp draws upon her dark connection and conjure a cloud of shadow around herself to hopefully hinder the would be thief "susan try casting embers before us to melt the snow and uncover any more traps" She says before focusing on trying to sense the origin of this fog or any of its inhabitants and with precautions taken they continue cautiously and on edge ready to strike at any movement

You can't pick up an exact location to the magic source, but you can since something close. You start heading in the direction you sense the magic coming from. As Susan burns away some of the snow, she barely catches another one of the devices. That's odd. It IS a pokeball, but with a strange device you've never seen before on it attached that had made the flash. You avoid it, but as you progress you suddenly feel something slam against your side. You barely catch a white blur before you land face first in the snow. Susan turns from burning the snow, but by the time she has looked the white blur is in the fog again. Slippers, who was on your shoulders, lands face first in the snow right beside you, also missing whatever it was.

When you get up, you realize your trousers are missing. That doesn't seem very good in this temperature. You can feel the cold stinging your legs.

"This will take a while..." Cid starts, but he'd said it was a long story already, "first thing I remember is waking up on a beach in Orre, only my name to me..." he takes a short pause before starting again, "I walk around for a time until I disturb a beedrill... I thought she'd attack at first and ran, she chased. I ran so long I collapsed, and she brought me to her nest, setting me with the eggs and weedle. I tried leaving many times, but she always brought me back. She kept me fed, hydrated, cleaned, acting like I was one of her children..." here he pauses to take a sip of water, "...I learned fast to keep up, what could be eaten and what couldn't, how to hide from predators, even how to fight... I even developed a way to talk to her, as well as her children, who were like brothers and sisters... you actually remind me of one of them in some ways..."

"I think I was twelve when I met Jackal, he was sent to exterminate the hive, I hid with the others while Shira, the beedrill that first found me, held him off. She had to come flying back before long though... I ended up tackling Jackal before he could do anything. I thought he'd continue his own attack, but he left, and came back with a telepath. He made a deal with Shira, and took the entire hive in, including me, he refined how I fought, taught me how to be a bounty hunter and got me used to people again. I think that's when Shira started to lay fewer eggs."

"She died when I was fifteen, leaving me an egg, Dhaska was born from that one. Her last gift to me. He introduced me to my other pokemon, Shrowa, when he was a kakuna. Shrowa was a hot headed little combee, and had a crush on Dhaska you wouldn't believe. She's going to miss him more than me..." he pauses here, obviously a sad point in the tale, "I left Orre a little before I turned nineteen, and made my way here, where I met Erin. I wasn't with her long, and you know the rest from there, I'd guess," he never went into his development of elementalism, fact was he had no idea when that started, so he just left it out.

That was the most that Cid had ever spoken at once before, and it hurt his throat, he'd drunken most of the water to keep from going into a coughing fit, and his voice was still rougher by the end than when he'd started, but telling the story seemed to brighten his mood some.

The girl frowns, "Ew, thanks." She says at the remark that she reminded him of some bugs, "Its always nice to hear I remind someone of a bug." She says.

Other than that she is quiet as he finishes the story. "So...being raised by bugs made you a bug boy?" She asked confused. "I don't think just being around pokemon would change you like that..."

"More like reminding me of an older sister than a random bug," Cid comments, amused, before frowning slightly, "I'm confused about my own elementalism... when I think on it.... Most times I just use it... I don't think about it... I'm not even sure when it started... but I'm glad I have it... the abilities are useful... if not the most useful for getting along with people," that last comment came with a rye smile while looking at the girl.

He pauses while taking a drink, blinks a few times, then chuckles as he sets the now empty cup down, "I forgot again... Dhaska usually reminds me..." he comments, almost to himself, "I didn't get your name, and never introduced myself properly... Cid Belmont... I'd offer a hand, but I'm unsure you'd take it..."

The situation was rapidly spiraling out of control she was being robbed and humiliated and her anxiety was building despite the rage she has begun fueling to keep it in check. The cold wasn't any help either her silky knickers while comfortable on her skin did nothing to protect her from it. She was beginning to panic a bit having lost most of her possessions and her dignity. She needed to stop these attacks some how she can't keep going forward at this rate. Shivering violently and wincing from the sting of the cold on her sensitive skin Wisp quickly stands back up and enters her shadow form hoping the ghostly nature would take some of the bite out of the cold and stop her knees from knocking together.

Yay magical girl transformation!... No! do it fast don't waste time showing off!...

Wisps scarf billows against the wind in supernatural defiance of physics, her eyes burn with a somehow black glow and she becomes noticeably translucent. She sets everyone in a defensive circle and tries to pinpoint any movement bigger than a snowflake in the supernatural fog. Once she has something she will have her pokemon attack from range regardless of if the target has left the fog yet.

The good news? With the defensive circle and the lack of movement you don't get attacked. The bad news? Well, you're standing around in the cold with your bare legs showing while not moving to keep warmth. You can feel your legs slowly getting colder and colder with each sting. The turning ghost didn't serve to effect your ability to feel cold.

As you all look out into the snow, you can't see anything. Whatever is out there it must be watching you from further than 5m away. However, your magic senses do allow you to finally pick up an exact location. You can sense that the center of this magic mass seems to be about twenty-five meters away in the direction you were heading before.

After a moment of standing there looking, you hear a soft dark chuckle in your right ear, but when you look over nothing is there. Then you hear the same chuckle above you, again nothing.

"Dahlia," The girl says. "And it'd be foolish of me to take it. You are a prisoner and all prisoners long for freedom. Putting myself in grabbing range of you would make me a target and Arceus knows what vile things you'd try and do to me."

"I-It's nothing. I j-just get red sometimes." Cain doesn't look up from a particularly interesting spot on the ground. His face seems to grow even redder as she keeps talking. This would be so much easy if she'd been a man. "I wouldn't think anyone would want to go to the monastery with our reputation." It felt like all the blood had gone to his head. Then why was it so hard to think? "I-I wouldn't t-think anyone would like something less than pleasant."

"Hmm...you just randomly turn red?" Blackmoor asks, "So why would you be all the man I need if you randomly turn red?" She asks. "And is the ground more interesting than me that you stare at it and refuse eye contact?" She asked. "That doesn't seem very manly..." She points out. "So, your monks don't like things less than pleasant? Is that what they taught you?"

"...I have nowhere to go, no one to go back to, and your captain could kill me without much thought... the only reason I'm alive is he has an interest in my family, from when I can't remember... and I'm not stupid enough to try anything by myself, I have no reason to..."

Dismissing the shadow form as useless she realised had a choice, fight or flight. Flight she cuts her enormous losses and runs away back to town humiliated defeated and poor. Or Fight with her destination in mind she makes a break for it hoping to end the source of this fog and find the thief and recover her belongings at least her notes she can stand starting over with her notes.

Mustering courage she mounts susan slippers jumps on her shoulder and she orders a full sprint for the source of the fog blazes a blazing to cut down all obstacles.

Cain takes a deep breath, several actually, before trying to speak again. "I'm sorry you're just very pretty and I don't have a lot of experience dealing with women let alone pretty ones and I don't want to say something stupid and I probably already have!" He says this very fast without a pause. Waiting half a second, he adds. "No, the monks taught me that pain was the only way to truly improve in my training and it was a lesson they taught quite frequently!"

"I can't know that." Dahlia says. "For all I know you could be lying and figure you have nothing left to lose." She says hesitantly. "Thanos says I'm terrible at picking up on lies...So it'd probably be safer for me not to shake hands. Why risk it? A hand shake isn't necessary." She's quiet for a bit, "I...I do appreciate the offer though. I'm sorry if I seem rude."

As you start to charge, Susan steps right on one of the flash balls. A bright blast of light blinds you, her, and slippers and you can feel Susan start to buckle as she starts to fall into the snow. Wisp is luckily barely quick enough on her feet to jump off and tuck and roll. You avoid any damage, but Susan is tripped and the bright blast of light hurts you eyes. After about ten seconds you can finally see and you see Slippers pinned under Susan who is on her side trying to get up.

In addition as you start to get up, you feel the cold wet snow on your bare hands. You look confused since the snow shouldn't be on bare hands. You find that your gloves, and top two layers of tops are gone leaving you with just your casual and sanitation layer top.

The cruel laugh is hard moving away from behind you from the fog. Luckily for you it seems you were able to charge a bit closer. You sense that you're about ten meters away.

"Well, that's a bit more honest." Blackmoor says with a smile, for the first moment showing a bit more emotion. "So if I'm pretty why is the ground so facinating? Clearly I'm not THAT pretty if the dirt is more attractive than me." She notes, "So...they enjoy pain then?" She asks, the smile on her face suddenly turning much colder. "How interesting..." She mutters, "So, would you say the monks are a good representation of monasteries and the Emperor who funds them?"

"this is bad *gasp* this is bad" Gasps Wisp with the cold getting to her she can't tell what is worse the searing sting or the unsettling numbness that follows she wouldn't last the trip back to town like this she has to find shelter but she only has one landmark... the source.

Fighting through the tears of an escalating panic attack Wisp helps her pokemon up mounts susan and continues her desperate charge seeking now only respite from the cold pain that now covers her body like a horrific opposite to the sunburn torture she suffered as a child.

"I'm not sure I'd be be able to concentrate if I looked up." Cain admits hesitantly. "I don't know if they enjoy it Mi'lady, but it's the belief of the monastery that pain builds strength." Even he'd grown to believe it. The evidence of his own strength enough proof to his mind. Then she asks the question about the monastery and the Emperor. "I... didn't even know the Emperor funded the monastery. And I've never been to any other monastery, so I wouldn't know that." This were easy questions. "But our monastery is an excellent example of strength and skill, both martially and practically."

"And do the towns people view the monks and the monastery as a good thing? Are they thankful for its existence and feel it is honorable and a gift from the Emperor?" Councilor Blackmoor asks with a frown, "Be honest with me or I might have some fun and increase your strength." She comments. "When one views the monastery and those monks that live within do you think they feel it brings honor and praise to the Emperor? Does it glorify him?" It was odd how focused her questions suddenly became. Before she'd seemed content to toy with you, play games, and sound bored. Yet now her tone was no longer teasing, but one of an interrogation.

Once again as you charge blindly you start running over these flash bombs. The closer you get to the house, the more that you hit with each step. However, you can only hear them as they repeatedly blind you and Susan. Susan seems about to stumble, but you are able to guide her well enough that she doesn't fall this time. You're able to use the magic to guide Susan towards the source, though you feel a hard thump slam into your chest 3 damage, unreducable and a surprised female voice. "Freeze!" She says, the irony isn't lost on you as you can feel your legs starting to grow numb as the arms seem like they will be following soon.

However, you hear the sound of the flash balls going off, but this time about four meters to your side. You're confused what might have trigged that when something slams into the side of you knocking you off Susan. You're blinded still and unable to tell what it is, but you think you feel fur and claws. Just as the thing and you hit the snow you hear that female voice from before, "Oh ****..." and a strange 'PEW' sound. Despite your inability to see, for a millisecond there is a flash. The thing on you bounces off and you feel a tear as another of your top layers is gone, along with your mask.

"Ugh...well you're not with that..." The female voice says as you feel some human hands trying to lift you as your vision starts to return. As it unblurs you can faintly make out a human female with blonde hair and blue eyes, an odd trait for anyone from Sinnoh since typically only Unovians have those genes.

(Will wait until your reaction to this and the female starting to lift you before a full description of her since your vision is blurry still and all you can see is her face so she's so close to you)

Cid chuckles, "understandable..." he closes his eyes, "I'll be trying to sleep, shortly... If I need anything, I'll speak up."

She shrieks as her shirt and mask are torn away, and her scarf flaps wildly reflecting her state of panic despite the growing difficulty she has moving in the cold leaving her with just her silky camisole, knickers, and boots. Her mind was in survival mode now she probably would have snarled the girls face off if Wisp cold numbed ears were blinded like her eyes that is. It was another decision point trust a total unovan looking stranger with her life or... oh void it she's totally dead the other way... "*gasp*what the void*gasp* is that thing*hyper ventilate*what did it do with my clothes?" She gasps out as she tries to get up and focus on who she is talking to.

"Oh, I'll um...I'll be quiet and not bother you then." She says getting quiet and sitting down watching you. Considering she hasn't left despite seeming uncomfortable you guess Thanos probably assigned her to watch you.

"Ugh...long...story...just...come on..." She grunts. You feel a powerful grip from her right hand, almost crushingly-so considering your easily bruised body. Her left arm feels much more normal. She starts moving you into the house, only stopping every so often to toss out pokeballs with the strange flash devices on them behind her in a circle to block off the door. "Recall your pokemon." She says, "We can't fit them all in here." She commands, her voice becoming more normal once your inside. By the time she helps move your quickly stiffening body inside, your vision has returned. You see that the house has lots of barricades set up made from tables, chairs, and anything else movable near the doors which explains the not fitting in. "I've got some warmth inside, but you're going to have to get inside yourself." She says pointing at a small hole in the barricade at the bottom barely big enough for a human to crawl through. You can see a few other gaps in the make shift barricade barely small enough to fire arrows or pokemon attacks out of. Clearly, she'd hunkered down in here.

As she urges you into the whole, she draws a strange weapon you'd not seen before (ooc: its a high-tech gun, not going to explain it, but they don't exist in Sinnoh) and faces the door clearly planning to cover you. Looking closely you can see that she is wearing a long red trench-coat with a strange design on the back and another of the strange weapons on her belt. Underneath the red coat you can see a strange looking plate mail that covers her chest and her right arm, however her left arm is only covered by the coat, not the armor. Looking lower you can't help but notice that she is only in a black thong below the waist. You can't believe people would wear those types of underwear with so little fabric. Something like that is also strange in Sinnoh, further causing you to suspect she isn't a native.

She does as she is ordered recalls slippers and susan and desperately scrambles inside forcing through the pain and throwing herself at it to get her joints to turn regardless of the bruises survival first critization of underwear second.

You hear a few more of the strange "Pew" sounds, some cursing and grunting and then a sound of crawling around behind you and a thump. When you get on the other side of the barricade you see some pretty weird things. The first thing to note is that there is warmth, like, a lot of it. But there doesn't seem to be a fire. Instead this warmth is originating from a weird metal box in the corner. The tempature seems way hotter than Sinnoh can be and you can only imagine this is what those characters in the 'swimsuit arc' of those mangas feel temperature. It takes some rubbing to recirculate the blood, but with the heat in the room you find you aren't freezing and there doesn't seem to be any long-term damage, though someone more skilled in medicine would know for sure.

The woman crawls through the hole after you and grunts exhausted. "Ugh..." She says exhausted as she examines the weird weapon. "Sorry about that pokeball I fired at you. I thought you were that thing." She says as she assumes a sitting position leaned against the barricade. With the way she's sitting and the style of underwear she's wearing it barely serves to conceal her privates.

She grabs a pokeball from a pile of pokeballs, all with odd attachments on them, and tosses it through the barricade so its sitting right in the doorway of the shack. Her precise aim with a simple toss is quite impressive as it lands dead center in the doorway with the weird piece on top facing the outside. You aren't sure what it is, but it certainly isn't one of those flash balls.

"You saved me there is no need to apologize" wisp says trying to massage he aching frozen body and focusing on the strage heat source because she is to scared to look down at the bloody, bruised, freezer burned mess her body has become "Just please tell me there is a way to get out of this alive." She adds as her scarf curls up and slowly unrolls itself as she calms down and recovers all subconscious inhibitions of hers that suppressed its movement normal having been torn away with her clothes and dignity.

The woman glances at your legs and hesitates. After a moment she sighs and gets up and moves over to the other side and opens up a box that has some weird technology you've not seen. "Ugh...I was hoping to hold onto these supplies for a little longer but..." She pulls out the last little bits and moves over toward you. "Alright, let me see your legs. Moves hands away." She says as she prepares one sharp looking piece with a weird liquid in it. "Oh, and..." She grabs a piece of her trenchcoat and rips it. You notice now that the bottom actually has several pieces ripped from it. "Bite this, it'll hurt." She says handing you the piece.

"And there is always a way out of any situation. The question is merely if one has the capability and methods required to do so." The woman replied to your comment, "In theory, escaping would be a simple process of defeating that wild beast so the fog ends and heading back to town." She says, "However, knowing how to do something is typically a bit different from being able to do so. You'll notice that it intentionally targeted our resources and clothing in order to make it harder to walk back without freezing to death. It intends to weaken us bit by bit, pick us off, and leave us weakened. Escape is difficult due to the fog and constant attacks and fear of hypothermia." She shrugs, "So, we'd have to finish off the creature before it finishes us off, despite it realizing that time and waiting are on its side." She points out the devices she'd taken out of the box, "This is the last of my medical supplies and my food will probably only last another day or so."

"In short, yes there is a way out of it, but it isn't going to be easy with that creature, the limited clothing and resources, and the cold temperature here."

"So what do you need then?" Wisp asks in as straight forward and professional manner as her injured psyche can muster before biting down and moving her hands clear. she is still avoiding looking at herself.

The woman lifts the device and stabs it into your leg. You feel excruciating pain which only gets worse when she presses the top in and it pushes the liquid into your body. Your leg feels like its burning up, like acid is in your bloodstream. After about ten seconds, she presses another button and you see that the spot where the strange liquid had been is now replaced by your blood. In another ten seconds the pain stops and your leg feels completely fine as if it hadn't been almost frozen off.

"Its brutal, my apologizes but it restructures the cells in the immediate area to revive any dead cells and put everything back in healthy condition. It probably burned, but that's kinda what happens when your body is burning up and restructuring." She comments. "As for what I need? Clothes would be nice. More weapons. My bike that is still out there from when I was attacked." She says. "The fog doesn't bother me, but that doesn't help much as fast as he is." She says. "So...who are you and what can you do? Its hard to plan strategy or tactics without knowing the capabilities and talents of my partner." She says. "Well, other than knowing she wears some rather weird underwear and has pretty pale skin. However, based on the fact that my medicine didn't turn your leg a more normal shade I'm guessing its not cold or some sickness." She comments, "Meaning either you never get any sun or you're a witch. I'm leaning towards the later since even a lack of sun would give some level of pigment." She comments, "So...what witch powers do you have that we can use?"

Tough it out you've been through worse... Thinks Wisp to herself over and over as it feels like her leg's caught fire and she tries to hold still her scarf twisting knotting and braiding itself to reflect the tension she is exerting on her biting rag.

As she caught her breath she listened to what the woman had to say though noticeably flinched very frequently as she went on about her pale skin "You can just call me Wisp I prefer that name I was born with a natural gift for ghost and dark magic what you see in terms of pigmentation and choice of undergarments... is a side effect and I'd prefer the conversation doesn't dwell on it..." she says looking uncomfortable before refocusing and spilling her assets "I have a number of offensive techniques, I can originate the dark techniques from shadows in my vicinity I can produce my own supernatural shadows to obscure me and originate attacks from though it seems it did nothing to hinder that thing. I can also see in total darkness and my mind exhibits the mindlock phenomena. I can enter a state I refer to as shadow form which give me the elemental resistances and weaknesses of ghost pokemon, I can suppress hostiles within 3 meters of me and I can turn invisible for very short periods of time to avoid attacks that don't completely blind side me. I also possess a fair amount of occultic knowledge, acrobatic aptitude, and a disturbing talent for deception. My zorua can conjure small illusions and both it and my ponyta are part ghost." when she is done she finally looks herself over and assesses the damage

"Huh, I didn't realize grandma underwear was a side effect of being a witch..." She mumbles as she listens. "Alright Wisp, I'm Kira. I'm a hunter who has been tracking the source of the Wraiths. Sadly, the man I suspect as being the source came here which made tracking a pain due to your country's restrictions on people arriving. Nonetheless, I made it here eventually, but he left and just twisted the wilds here." She comments, "That creature here is the one for this area." She comments. "As for your dark shadow thing, yes, that won't be very helpful. Absol's have a natural ability to see through darkness and this one's eyes seem even more enhanced as evidenced by this fog it creates." She comments. "Your...shadow form I'd recommend renaming, but regardless of naming it won't help much either. Again, dark type and what not."

She sighs, "A shame, here I'd been hoping you'd have something a bit more useful, but I get the one witch in the area without much to deal with it." She say with a sigh as she starts gathering a full supplies, including a device she slips on her head that covers her right eye with a weird see-through green lens. "So, got anything that will help deal with an Absol?" She asks. "And I don't mean typing. This thing seems to be able to ignore typing when it wishes. Its...frustrating." She says clenching her right fist that was covered in a gauntlet. As you look closely you're surprised by the quality of the armor. You can't tell where the gauntlet begins and the platemail on the arm ends.

"Let's see what we can do though...I've got a few traps set-up which sa---" She pauses, "Damn it..." She mutters as she removes the headpiece and tosses it. "I want that back. That's very important to me and I will shoot you if I feel you're running off with it." She says, "That should let you see my traps and the Absol through the fog." She comments. "Its range is limited to ten meters at the moment since I lowered it to be able to scan more." She explains. "I've been able to pick away at it, but it still seems to be at about eighty-percent life capacity give or take point zero five two percent." She comments. "I should be able to deal with the creature with some help, but the problem is that I'm not a strong attacker and I can't deal with it up close." She says nodding at the strange weapon. "This works great at a range, but due to its speed I can't hit it up close. Anything else you can provide that will work with that?"

"T-they are just comfortable alright my skin is sensitive coarser fabrics and more form fitting styles feel very abrasive" Says Wisp defensively as she puts on the eye piece and looks out through the hole in the barricade. In particular she tries to memorize where the traps are "knowing where the traps are now I might be able to work as bait and dodge some of its attacks but unless you have something special you've been saving for a clean shot that would be a rather ineffective and ultimately lethal sacrifice" she says starting with the more obvious approaches "Something is odd though. I found this place by occultically trying to find the source of this supernatural fog which lead me here not to the constantly moving absol. I think this shack might be some sort of lynch pin in how this fog is created perhaps by studying it I can come up with some way to disperse the fog" she adds as she hands the eye piece back and starts examining the shack from an occultic point of view.

When you put on the device a strange set of bars appears above Kira. The bar is mostly green with a bit of red and a series of letters in numbers in Unovian which you can't read.

"What clothing do they make here that underwear is rough and abrasive if not for grandmas?" She snorted. "Anyways, we can try and weaken it, but do you have anything that will work well against an Absol?" She says, "I've got a few things that typically work well, but even I can't drop it that easily, we'll need to wear it down." She comments. "If I could take it out with one shot I've have just used my traps and shot it."

She glances up, "The Absol set up the center of the storm here. I've already investigated it and its getting its power source from the Absol." She comments.

Your occultist knowledge does indeed reveal that the source comes from a few rooms to the side, but it seems to be getting a constant feed of power from outside.

"And keep the eye piece for this fight. I've got mines further than ten meters from the house and you'll need them to extend your view from five meters to ten meters for easier spotting of the Absol." She comments. "Given, this only prevents further injuries, we'd still need to deal with the cold after, but it works for now. If we can take it out, we can return here and move on to the second part of the plan of getting out of here."

"L-like I said the skin is sensitive and doesn't toughen with injuries and time like a normal persons. Garments that feel normal to others can lead to injuries if worn while moving over a long distance. Its also a matter of cost. Less popular styles cost less I have to live within a budget after all and its not like I even want people to see them! Now if you are expecting me to keep a level head can we please drop it!" She says being defensive again "We should try to find some of our resources as we try to wear it down Slipper can track he might be about to trace where it stashed my shirt and hopefully everything else, but if we are going to fight on the move there is the question of how will you see where you are shooting without the eyepiece? Also I can't read unovan are these symbols suppose to mean anything to me?"

"Just numbers, names, and analyzing." Kira says, "All you need that scanner for is the outline of the Absol and the mines." Kira comments, "And I have my own ways of seeing. I don't need it to see through the fog." She comments with a shrug as she moves towards the gap. "Alright, let's hope we get out of this alive..." She says. "If he's gathering all the stuff its about twenty-five meters south. If its in different spots we'll just have to look around."

As she starts climbing through she calls back, "Got any status afflictions or anything? We can try to weaken it that way."

Wisp climbs out bracing herself for the bite of the cold once again not that bracing would do any good. Once outside she calls out susan "If he is lucky susan might be able to burn it and he will be suppressed near me thats about all I got" she says shivering already as she scans their surroundings through the scouter.

As Kira and you step out, you can see Kira also seems pretty cold. Her slim bare legs are even less covered than yours. She struggles as she starts walking keeping her weapon drawn as she moves out. As you make your way out, you look around and can see the outline of an Absol about seven meters to your right. It seems to be stalking you from what it believes are the edge of the fog. When the scanner overs it you see a strange black glow around it. As you focus on it suddenly the scanner starts popping up with a bunch of symbols and ! ! ! signs. You can't really tell what they say, but that looks like a hazard sign. Above the hazard are two Unovian words you can't read.

It slowly starts creepy your way towards you, getting closer to the edge of the five meter normal seeing distance.

Wisp notes the position of the mines around her and ghostwisp formulates a cunning plan. She tries to make herself look like a more appealing target that would go down first and tries to positions herself so that if the absol rushed her and missed it would likely land on a mine. All she needed now was for the Absol to make its move.

The Absol smirks as it sees your weakness and quickly dashes forward stepping right on the pokeball. A giant blast of light blinds the creature who stops about 3m away from you and stumbles backwards unable to see.

Turning quickly, Kira turns and aims her gun. You see a slight glow from her before the gun starts to glow and fires a blast of energy. The hit slams the creature hard and you see the bar above it start to lower. Now the bar appears to be half-green and half-red. However, the creature roars in pain and a moment later the scanner starts flashing an you see a new symbol appear over it "!!!H!!!". It starts flashing and the creature glares at you as it can finally see.

It moves quickly at you and charges jumping at you and opens its mouth to bite you. Its fangs don't look like that of a normal pokemon and seem to glow and radiate energy. It bites hard into you. 28 Physical damage, type unknown.

The Absol glares as you vanish and avoid its bite. It snorts and looks around deciding to go after the woman that shot it instead. The Absol turns and lunges at her as she quickly tries to lift her gun. However, realizing she won't fire it in time she holds up her hand and you see a strange glowing shield completely surround her. She lets out a sigh, but the Absol glows and goes through the barrier, much to Kira's shock. She's caught off guard and the creatures jaws dig deep into her tearing a nasty wound. As it digs it fangs, it then turns and hurls her across the snow. She lands hard on the ground and doesn't get up.

The bar above Kira drops to about twenty-five percent and you see two X's appear next to the bar. You aren't sure what the symbols mean, but she seems to be breathing, though struggling to move through the pain. Even worse, the aura around the Absol suddenly explodes and the black aura around it starts going out of control. You can even see the black aura around it without the scanner. At the same time it seems the gauge on the Absol goes down about another 10%, but it doesn't seem to have taken a hit so you're not sure what the bar is reflecting.

The !!!H!!! symbol suddenly changes to an !!!H/R!!!

The Absol barely avoids the flame wheel, but its eyes now focused on the Ponyta and it turns away from Kira. It jumps to scratch the Ponyta, its claws glowing with the black aura as it slashes past the Ponyta. 35 Physical, ??? damage. It then turns to slash a second time from behind, but the Ponyta avoids the attack just in time. Through the scanner the bar drops another 10%. What was the bar that it kept dropping?

Wisp frowns as the ghost ponyta's bar drops by half and gets a few symbols itself she could guess this means bad things but thats about it. She wasn't about to waste this invisibility to hide out though and she closes range with the absol and tries to stun it with an astonishing attack as she fades back into view!

"Oh, I'll um...I'll be quiet and not bother you then." She says getting quiet and sitting down watching you. Considering she hasn't left despite seeming uncomfortable you guess Thanos probably assigned her to watch you.

It took quite a while before Cid gave up on trying to sleep, a sigh escaping him, "...can you tell me where this ship is heading?" he asks, not opening his eyes.

The Absol is caught off guard and knocked to the side with a growl giving Ponyta an opening.

"Umm..." The young girl seems unsure if she should say anything, "I...ummm well, its currently heading to an island to deal with those three figures that the Pirate Lords put a bounty on." She finally says. "After that Thanos and Gregory will probably part ways and Thanos will do whatever he has planned." She explains.

"I... do not know the will of the townspeople. But if you already know the reputation of the monastery, you can guess the feelings of the people." Cain was a little startled by the sudden change in attitude, enough that the redness slowly started to fade from his face. Then she threatened him and he unconsciously started clenching and unclenching his hands in a rhythm. "I do not know. These are not questions to ask me. My time outside the monastery has not been fraught with learning. And my time within was learning the skills the monks deigned to teach."

Sorry about not posting. Work has been chaotic. Things should be settling back down again. So I should be able to post at least once every day, or at least once every other day. Anyway posting a response to the battle that I'm losing...


Jack can do nothing but watch as the bullet hits Frogger and he slumps to the deck and doesn't get up. At this point he turns just in time to get sucker punched in the face. After a brief stun his head is showered with stars that feel like meteors. Some how after all of this abuse he is still standing, and manages to return Frogger to his pokeball. I must retreat. Jack mutters to himself in an attempt to get himself moving. Jack then begins to run away from the ship occasionally looking over his shoulder to make sure nothing was being shot in his general direction. With every step he take his head is screaming at him to stop, but he keeps going. He has no idea where he is going, but anywhere would be better than here right now.

The hot spring stocks plummet as the Absol avoids the wheel of fire. It looks between you and the Ponyta wondering which would make the better target before it attacks you with a flash of claws as it slashes past. The attack hits and the Absol slashes right past to land behind you. You can tell the cut was deep and you don't get how its claws can be cutting as well as they are. 31 Physical damage

As it stands before you, you hear a grunt and see Kira, holding her injuries pointing her gun at the beast. "Die!" She pantsCid[/b]. You suddenly notice that she starts to glow again, but the glow seems brighter, especially around her injuries. As before, the glow starts to move to the gun and the gun then fires a blast of energy like you saw before the flies and slams into the Absol with a powerful blast that sends the Absol flying away from you. Amusingly enough, the Absol lands on a flash mine blinding it. It struggles to stand as it shakes its eyes trying to see.

The device you are wearing has the bar turn completely red and then the far right side of the bar starts to shorten. (IE: If [OOOOOOOOOO] is full green, X=red it'd be... [XXXXXXX] <-thus bar shorter and all red.)

As mentioned in skype, you are about five meters from your gear. It will take a standard per article of clothing, a shift to sort into your bag for an item.

"That's a silly question. One pirate lord could probably deal with them. Personally its overkill for two pirate lords to go, but they both learned the other was on the way when they ran into each other back at port. Rather than get in the way, they agreed to just team up for this." She says. "Thanos is immortal."

Cain
"Hm...that's a shame. Still, you've been helpful and I suppose amusing enough to entertain the thought of recruiting you." She says turning back for the carriage. "I'm still swinging by the monestary, I feel they need some more training and I'd like to have some fun teaching them." She steps into the carriage. "Get in if you seriously wish to join me and we'll see if you're man enough for me."

As you start to retreat the sailors laugh and the captain smirks as he lowers the bird down to the ground. He steps off and points his gun at your retreating figure and pulls the trigger. The bullet flies behind you, landing right in your back. 26 normal, physical

Wisp puts pressure over the wound, it just feels like a flesh wound not the most serious she's ever had(or she is growing to numb in the cold to tell, either way getting cut is bad) She hurries towards the the stash and frantically rummages for an empty pokeball with her cold stiffening fingers. She couldn't hurt it, she could only barely slow it down, and everyone here wasn't going to last much longer against it a pokeball had a small chance of ending this now, and was her best option.

The pokeball hits the barely standing pokemon and the beam of light yanks it inside. The ball shakes once, twice, three times. It stops moving and suddenly DING. The ball locks.

As the Pokemon gets caught and vanishes the fog suddenly fades way quicker than it should have. You can feel a flow of magic blast past you and sweep towards the house. Then the magic vanishes as the creature holding the strange weather in place is gone. The good news is that the fog is gone. The bad news is you've been out in the cold almost completely naked for a few minutes and you can tell. Especially with a claw wound causing you to be bleeding pretty badly and no clothes to keep you warm.

As if the gods hated you it seems that the overcast weather has parted bit to allow the burning vile sun in with a few light rays. Its not a big sunny field, but its still some sun light peeking through the clouds. With the sun out, your side bleeding out, your teammate badly injured, and freezing cold ripping through your body making it a pain to move the question of what to do next comes up. Kira had suggested grabbing the resources and retreating back to the house, but that was before the massive injuries you both took which were only made worse by the lack of medical supplies.

After a moment of wide eye'd terror and reality catches up with her Wisp Shrieks in pain and collapses as the direct sun light triggers her trauma and slowly beings to give her very exposed skin a sunburn. The fact that it wasn't the Sun's full force did nothing to provide her mind with any comfort. Susan is quick to react and tries to block the low hanging sun with the shadow of his fabulous but undead equestrian physique. With the respite from Susan Wisp switches from total meltdown to desperate panic, puts her mask on as fast as she can, and reaches to stop her bleeding with a super potion, but realizes she only has one and that susan and kira are more severely injured. Instead she reaches for the torn remains of her long shirt and tires to tie it over her wound hoping it will at least slow the bleeding. If she believes she won't faint from blood loss in the next 5 minutes she will then unfurl her bed roll and throw it over herself as protection from the sun before putting the superposition and real bandage in Susans handsome jaw "*gasp*T-take those to Kira and then come back so I can recall you*hyperventilate*"

Kira grunts exhausted and starts making her way toward you, confused what the hell you were doing. When Susan approaches she waves a hand in dismissal, "I got supplies at my bike." She says as she declines. She sheathes the gun and moves to grab her pants and scoop up as much of the stuff as possible, "We need to get back inside quickly. We can get dressed and ready then." She says as she looks in the distance and looks at a strange device you've never seen about fifteen meters away. The strange device seemed to be about the size of Susan, but not as tall and slightly longer. It was made of metal, had a pointed end, and looked like a seat on it. It was laying in the snow on its side and the bottom had a bunch of weird things on it, you couldn't identify.

"Rest later," She said confused as to what was your problem as she started moving toward the shack.

Not wanting to get left behind Wisp stuffs her belongings in her bag(including the absol's pokeball), recalls susan and tries to follow using her mask, hood, and blanket as cover. She was still very shaky from such a fresh episode, but she is pushing herself to bounce back from it fast. "I-I-I can't stand the sun..." she tried to explain by the time they reached the shack.

"I'd hardly call this 'sun'." She says glancing up at the sky. Once she was inside she set down all the stuff down, got her pants on, and climbed through the hole in the back to warm up her feet before putting on her boots. After she was done, she pressed a button on the steam-punky device and you heard a strange humming sound that slowly got closer to the shack. You could see that the injury on her had somehow pierced the armor and crammed some metal into her. Despite this, she seemed to have a high level of focus and while you could tell she was in pain, her priority was surviving.

"Ok...get dressed, warm up, and we'll start heading back to town. " She said with a grunt. "Though...I'd recommend once we're healed up killing that thing you caught."

Unlike the case of defending her choice of underwear Wisp lets the issue rest with that, and dresses and warms up as she is told, and uses the torn parts of her casual shirt to ties over and holes the absol made that would expose her skin. When she is finally put back together for the most part she begins to internalize what she has just been through and sort the questions from the answers. Taking into account the absol's unusual abilities, Kira's insistence that it be killed, Kira's strange items, Kira's strange comments about a man who was the source of wraiths, Kira's strange underwear, and the reports of draining that brought her here in the first place the questions far outweigh the answers. "*Sigh* now that our lives are not in immediate danger I have so many questions I hardly know where to start. What is wrong with this absol? What was done to it?" She says as she reemerges from the shack dressed and warm and again returns the eyepiece to Kira as she holds up the pokeball.

The woman finishes lacing her boots around the same time you ask your questions. She starts taking down the barricade and tossing it into the other room so she can move the supplies she has in the shack outside easier. Speaking of outside, the humming is coming from that strange device you saw which seems to be a weird hovering thing, kinda like an air-ship, but small. Like a hovering mechanical horse thing. You see other items in a bag on it and realize this must be the 'bike' she referred to. In one of the containers you see two pokeballs. She grabs one of them and releases a small yellow spider pokemon that you can barely see due to his tiny size. She sets the device that the heat came from on the 'bike' and nods, "Juliet, keep the heater powered so it won't be as cold." She comments.

As she starts loading things up, with the occasional grunt when she turns wrong and has the metal shove inside her wrong, she answers your questions. "Its a wraith. It was turned into one. Either by death or witches." She comments as she loads things. Her answers probably were a bit more simple than you were expecting.

Once her supplies are loaded, she grabs some of the supplies from the tool box you'd seen and leans against the wall of the shack. She clenches her teeth tightly and looks up at the ceiling as she moves one of the tools an starts prying, by hand, the metal armor. The pain had to be excruciating and you think you see some water starting to appear in her eyes. Eventually once the metal isn't bent so it was holding itself into her, she removes the armor leaving her in a sleeveless black undershirt (who wears those in Sinnoh?). Oddly enough, only the chest piece comes off, revealing that the armor on the arm seemed to be a different piece that was connected to her shoulder. She quickly grabbed some weird fluid and dumped it on the wound and wrapped it in a bandage.

She tossed the damaged armor with the massive hole on the ground of the shack and mounted the bike. "Want a ride?" She asked. "Beats walking and it has the heater."

"*sigh* My mount was injured so I would appreciate that thank you" Says Wisp as she gets on the bike "By "death or witches" do you mean this man who is this source of wraiths you mentioned before who had twisted pokemon in this area? Who is he and does he have anything to do with the reports of drained husk that had been found in this area?"

The woman is quiet for a bit as she rides the hover-bike closer to the town. "That man would indeed be one of many people capable of making Wraiths, yes." She comments after a bit. "As for who he is, that's a vague question. If I asked who you were, what answer could you give? We're made up of more than a few simple words. He's a man with a lot of power and a man that needs to be killed. As for drained husks, I'm afraid I can't help you there. I know nothing of that so I can't say he has anything to do with those reports."

"Unfortunate considering this my second time hearing of this draining phenomenon, and the answer still seems to elude me. What was it that lead you to that shack then? Also I did save my ponyta's life once with a ritual that made him part ghost. What makes this absol any different that it needs to be killed? Is its hostility a result of what happened to it and somehow unquellable?" She continues to ask not sold on the idea of an execution without a through investigation first.

"Contrary to popular belief a ghost and a wraith aren't the same thing." Kira responds, "As for its hostility it is a result of what it is. It's simply that. As water is wet and as your underwear is for grandma's, so to is that thing." She remarks, "I went there because I was tracking that man. I'd picked up the negative wraith energy nearby and looked for strange occurrences. People disappearing seemed to fit. As for full details, I am unaware of that. I know what a wraith is, I know what it can do, and I know that they are created by rather dark rituals. Probably not to far from what you did to your Ponyta. Hopefully that won't need to be put down." She remarks as she pulls over on the side of the road near some trees while still about ten minutes by foot away from town.

She dismounts the vehicle and grabs her bag and her pokeballs. She recalls the tiny Joltik and puts that pokeball on her belt, before slipping the second pokeball in a hidden pocket inside her jacket. "Off, we'll walk the rest of the way."

"Even if Susan could technically be defined as a wraith he has never exhibited behavior that would warrant him having to be put down. A-and as I said before I n-never intended for someone to see them so what they look like and who they are for are irrelevant" Says Wisp defending her underwear again the situation having become calm enough that there are no survival instincts stopping her from being flustered as she steps off the bike "Is showing ones underwear a common thing where you are from to the point you talk about it freely or something? in fact where are you from? and what are all these strange items you are using? ugh no wait I need to worry about the absol first... How much study has been put into these wraiths? are you telling me to kill it because it can't be cured or reasoned with or simply because killing something is simpler?" She asks as they walk.

"Eh, beaches are nice. And when making out or fooling around or having fun." Kira says with a shrug at the remark on how common one's underwear is shown. "Its not highly often, but it doesn't change that I'd hate to be wearing grandma undies in the off-chance it does happen." She says. "As for where I'm from, does it matter?" She asked with a shrug. "And they're my inventions to make things easier." She says, "As for the Wraiths, my point wasn't that your Ponyta was a Wraith, merely that it was similar in that you used occult magic to twist something to your own will." She comments, "The difference is yours seems to at least still be alive and with a personality. What you have there," She nods at the pokeball of Absol's, "Is a mindless weapon that wants nothing more than to kill."

Wisp blushes as this womans comments reminds her of some of the steamier moments she read in manga "There are not really beaches in sinnoh where dressing so lightly would be considered fun at least not by many so I suppose this is certainly a difference in culture. Though if you don't find the man you are after soon I would recommend getting some with more coverage than a piece of string between your legs. More coverage each layer means more warmth. I suppose you are right about where you are being no more relevant than the fact that I'm a witch. As for the absol I wonder if another ritual could override the hostility and make it more submissive. If such a ritual was made practical enough to use in the field it could be a useful weapon to stop wraiths with minimal risk of bodily harm, and if there is a man running around making them then this won't be the last one I'll have to deal with..." she shudders at the thought of an army of pokemon waiting around every corner to strip her naked.

"And yet even if you did know how to do a ritual to counter a magic that you know nothing about it'd still take more time to capture, gather, control, and cure than would be worth it. You'd lose more people that way." Kira points out. "That Wraith isn't going to listen to you just because you threw a pokeball. It will attack and kill you when you can't control it and then kill others near you."

"I don't simply kill things I don't understand. If it is bound to kill me in my effort to understand it then I will simply hold off until I am strong enough to protect myself from it." Says Wisp disliking the difficult position she has been put in more and more. "So why does the man you are after make these wraiths to begin with? what is his motivation for creating pokemon as dangerous as this absol?"

"Well, you're an idiot then." Kira comments, "You are dealing with something that can't be reasoned with. You are assuming that because it is in the form of a pokemon and once was a pokemon that it still is." She states annoyed. "As for their reasoning, since he isn't the only one, I do not know. I am not him. You'd have to ask him yourself."

"I'm not an idiot I'm a sceptic, but if what you are saying say is true about it being some sort of weaponized construct that merely resembles the material it was made from then maybe it would be best to put the creature out of its misery... You did save my life afterall it would be unlike me not to exercise some trust and loyalty in return." She says thinking of her bond with slippers and susan.

"I've also dealt with these things before." She comments as she reaches over and taps her arm. "You caught it, I can't control your actions. But putting it out of its misery would be much easier, especially with the limited information we have."

"Does your arm armor bare some sort of significance? like some sort of badge denoting experience with wraiths in your homes culture?" Wisp asks Curiously

"...there is always someone stronger..." Cid comments, "...and no man is immortal..." the only way to be immortal, is to not be human anymore. And Thanos certainly seemed human to Cid.

Jack continues to run when he suddenly feels like he's in danger, and sure enough he sees the captain lining up a shoot with his gun. He quickly jumps to the side and just barely dodges the bullet that would have hit him square in back. He lands behind some planks of wood that are just big enough to grant him cover.

Jack uses Detect to avoid the shot in the back.

Still at 1 hp as an interrupt uses my entire turn.

The redness in Cain's face comes back with full force at that. "Y-yes Mi'lady." He looks at the guards warily before following her inside the carriage and taking a seat. He didn't like the way she was talking about the monastery. She was going to hurt people. And his family at that, crazy as they were. He doesn't look at her in the face as the carriage moves.

As you get into the carriage, you can't help but notice how elaborate and fancy it is. The woman is quiet for the rest of the trip. After a short amount of time, the carriage comes to a stop. The door is opened by one of the Samurai and Lady Blackmoor gets up and steps outside without speaking to you.

Without another word she makes her way to the entrance of the monastery. "So...this is the monstrosity?" She comments as she looks at it bored. "How distasteful..." She mutters. "Find the leaders and have them meet me in the courtyard." She says as she sends off her samurai.

The captain snorts, "Target practice boys!" He says with a laugh as he fires again. 25 normal, physical damage.

"Ha, that's amusing. No, that'd be all mechanical." She says. "I lost it against a Wraith."

"I see... I've never seen anything like it how does it work?... I hope I'm not prying too much"

"How it works?" Kira asked, "What do you mean? Its a mechanical arm. I built it out of some metal, connected it to my nervous system, and made a few alterations. So, it functions with various useful features." She mentions. "And as long as you don't plan on spreading that knowledge I don't really care. So keep things private." She comments. "Speaking of which..." She comments as she nods ahead, "Looks like we've arrived." Sure enough, you and Kira have arrived back at the town.

Wisp says finding the description of the workings of the arm odd but they don't sound occultic so she doesn't even bother writing it down she then clams up about asking questions since they have reach civilization where they could be overheard and continues to follow Kira in silence

"I assume the quality of your healing is vastly inferior?" Kira asks. "Normal slow sprays and longer healing?" She asked. "Ugh...should have brought enough medical supplies to not have to be worried about saving supplies." She grumbles. "Where's your healing place?" She asked glancing around the town.

"That depends on the town mostly, but this town has a couple supernatural healers if we are lucky they will be available, and it shouldn't take as long as it would with conventional medicine. Anyway its over this over this way centrally located between the towns different entrances" Says Wisp Leading the way

And I'd take a spray over that burning anyday... Don't be a wimp its efficient and effective... Stop being such a masochist Dark...

Kira follows Wisp. As you arrive you see someone enter right behind you. You recognize the woman as the local medium. It seems she is just about to start her shift. "Hello Wisp." The woman says as she slips past you. She glances at the blonde woman with a raised eyebrow as if curious why Wisp had somebody with her, especially one who looked like a Unovian. However, the woman is too polite to ask anything. Instead, her eyes drop to your injuries as she makes her way back. "Give me a minute to get set-up and I'll help." The Medium says as she heads into the back.

As you look around, you find that the center seems fairly empty which doesn't surprise you. It was a small town and people didn't get hurt often.

Why would she find it odd that I'm here with a foreigner? I'm already very unusual on my own it would be natural for two different unusual things to find each other and interact in some way... Wisp thinks upon seeing the medium's reaction before glancing at Kira ah she looks unovan she must be following a stereotype that all unova wouldn't get anywhere near a witch like me... she doesn't seem to be much for conversation but maybe I should take an opportunity to ask her about the world beyond sinnoh before we part ways. aside from her ponderings Wisp waits patiently believing if she was going to pass out from her wounds that she would have done so already and even if she's wrong this would probably be the best place for it to happen.

A few moments later, the Medium whose name shall hence forth be Jill, comes out, "Alright you two, follow me back here." She says nodding at a private room in the back. Kira gets up and heads back there without saying much. She glances around the room as if judging it's medical technology. She takes a seat on the bed.

If you look around the room you can see some various herbs, a few basic looking potions, some medical documents, and more. Jill follows behind glancing at a notebook, "Ok, let's get questions answered quickly." She comments, "How old are the injuries? Are the causes natural or supernatural? Have you ever had any past negative reactions towards mystical healing?" She asked.

"An hour or two tops, and unsure technically we were attacked by an absol in a relatively conventional fashion but something was odd about it. Its attacks seemed to be devoid any type synchronization at least that I recognize... What would you say Kira?" Says Wisp turning to the girl with more experience dealing with these creatures. "My ponyta Susan also suffered similar injuries" She adds setting out her mounts pokeball.

Kira shrugs, "They're mundane. They have supernatural powers, but its more just enhanced so the attacks themselves aren't supernatural." She replies.

Jill nods and makes a few notes. "Alright...well then." She takes a deep breath and rests her hands on you. You feel a slight glow as you start to heal up. After a few moments, Jill turns to Kira though she pauses and glances back at Wisp. "And...you need healing as well?" She asks. "Is supernatural healing acceptable?" She asks.

Kira shrugs, "If that's what is available, doesn't matter to me." She comments.

Jill nods, "I see. Very well." She says before touching Kira and stating to heal her injuries as well.

"As for your Ponyta, it'll take me at least an hour or so to be able to help her however. I don't typically have to heal this many people back to back."

"Thats fine I need to take some time to clean up and change anyway, but just one thing..." she says rubbing the back of her head bracing herself for awkwardness "...Susan is kinda a guy"

We should have never let him pick his name... aww but susan is such a pretty name....

"Named Susan?" She asks surprised before covering her mouth, "Err...I mean, not that there is anything wrong with that. Sorry, pretend I didn't say anything, that was offensive." She quickly says.

Kira snorts and gets up and moves her body a bit to check how she was feeling. Satisfied, she turned and headed out.

Jack hears the gun shot and does his best to brace himself for the impact. He even puts up a wall of aura to protect him but all it does is slow the bullet down. He feels the bullet enter his back, and he struggles to stay conscious, but the pain had finally over taken him and he just sits there. Motion less.

"I'm not offended I made the mistake of just reading off a list of potential names when he agreed to travel with me and he really liked that one, and he is rather proud of his life choices" Wisp says explaining away why Susan picked a girls name before following Kira out.

"So now that you are all patched up what are you going to do?" She asks as she catches up.

Cain scowls as the Lady scorns the monastery. He might have tried to run away a lot, but this was still his home. Still, he wasn't going to say anything. Yet. She was starting to grate on his nerves though, maybe this wasn't his best idea. He get out of the carriage and stands off to the side, out of the way.

"Clearly you don't know Thanos..." The young girl mumbled. Then she turned and glanced up the stairs. "I think we've arrived."

Jack
As the world goes black you hear some laughs, "Bring the savage over here." You hear the Captain say. However, anything beyond that you miss due to the embrace of unconsciousness.

An unknown amount of time later, your eyes start to open. However, you can't see anything due to the pitch blackness. You can't tell where you are, but its very cramped and you're stuck in a space that's forcing you to be curled up with your knees near your chin. The cramped space seems to be rocking lightly as if floating on the water.

Wisp
"I still have work to do." Kira comments, "That's just one Wraith and I still need to find the source. I've got a few other leads on some mysterious areas that need to be looked into.

Cain
After about ten minutes, the Samurai comes back. "Everyone is in the courtyard, mi'lady."

"Good." Blackmoor says as she makes her way toward the courtyard. Assuming you follow, you'll find all the monks gathered into the center of the courtyard, kneeling down, with the Samurai having all the exits to the courtyard blocked by various Samurai.

"Good day all of you." Elysia says with a clearly false smile. "Normally I'd assume you'd know who I am, but considering how little you've paid attention to the Emperor and have felt satisfied to do your own things...well, better safe than sorry." She says casually as she walks amongst the group. She glances down at one of the monks, the one you recognize as the Master of the Monestary, "I'm Councilor Elysia Blackmoor, Royal Spymaster." She comments, "I typically arrive when things need to be..." She pauses as she steps behind the monk. "Corrected." Suddenly there is a blur of motion and a flash of red quicker than your eye can follow.

Your shocked when suddenly your mind pieces what happened as the lead monk collapses to his stomach clenching his throat and gurgling. You can see him coughing up blood and the other monks seemed shock and quickly stand up and lift their fist.

"Ah ah ah!" Blackmoor says pointing the stilleto that was now dripping blood at them. "Let's not get foolish." She says licking her lips. Her tone did not sound like that of one who had just slit a throat, but like one who had just had a good time "Did you think we wouldn't learn about your treason? About the information you've been secretly sending to Unovia and the smuggling of unapproved Inquisitors here?" She asked. "Is the Emperor a fool?"

The Samurais all drew their blades and pointed them at the Monks, forcing each one to their knees through sheer numbers. "Back to kneeling." She demanded before glancing back at Cain.

"You. You want to prove you're man enough as you claimed?" She asked as she tossed you here bloody stilleto. "Kill him." She asked pointing out one of the monks. "Or walk out now if you're too cowardly to support your Emperor." She commented. You could tell she was serious. She had no reason to kill you and if you wished to leave you were free to.

The thought had crossed Wisp's mind that she could just let the girl go she had already gotten most of her questions answered and this girl was chasing something that very well could be well outside Wisps depth following her to learn any more could very well not be worth the risk and effort, but at the same time this wraith business was her only vague leed on the draining phenomena that had claimed that hated village... and she couldn't help but think it was in some way related to how she got her powers following this girl could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to find answers "Would you mind having company? the fact that wraith phenomena and draining phenomena seems to have occurred in the same geographical location leads me to suspect they might be related investigating these wraiths might lead me to answers." Wisp says in an all business manner.

She pauses as if thinking. Oddly, she is quiet for almost a minute before she shrugs, "Eh, I guess you were helpful." She says, "And someone with more occultic knowledge and weird witch powers could be helpful." She says. It was odd, despite her seeming to have no problem against you, she seemed unsure.

"Alright you're the expert so whats the plan? where are we going next and when are we going? As you already heard it will be another hour before I get susan back" Says Wisp trying to be organized, and assuming Kira's odd behavior was because of her most recent episode nothing hard work to prove herself can't fix.

As Jack comes to he opens his eyes and realizes that it's not only pitch black, but he's moving. Then he remembers the last words he heard where the captain's telling the crew to bring him over where he was.

He starts putting two and two together as he feels the boat rocking. They must have taken me aboard and locked me in some sort of smugglers hold... Well I might as well see what's really going on here. He blinks again and this time he can sense all the aura around him. Both Pokemon and humans alike. Using this he begins to figure out the layout of the ship.

Simultaneously, he begins to subtly test his surrounding to see if he can find any weakness in his little hidden, security box, locked away from the rest of the world.

"...you'll see what I mean some day..." Cid replies, "...just hope you don't get caught in the crossfire when that time comes..." and with that, Cid waits, if it takes longer than an hour or two, he'd probably fall asleep.

Within about thirty minutes, you feel a stop as the boat comes to an end. "Alright men, unleash fire!" You hear a voice yell as the blast of cannons is heard. The sound is deafening and any hope of sleep is eliminated. You feel the boat rock as cannon fire is returned. Suddenly a cannon blows through the side of the boat knocking an opening in your cell, both where the door was and in the side of the boat. When the smoke settles you see that a part of the wall has fallen and trapped Dahlia.

You cannot see anything. (You need Aura Sight to see through walls).

Cid mentally curses as he gets out of the cell and tries to get the wall off the girl, "...as soon as you can... move... get out from under there..." he says, grunting as he clears away the wall. He wasn't going to let her die today, not if he could help it, she reminded him too much of Nimara for that...

Jack blinks and can still only see darkness... This isn't good. Jack thinks to himself and begins to panic. Slow down think logically, you can't see anything without light, thus you not being able to see anything. That's right. So I must get light into this cell some how... He begins to search his cramped quarters for his pokemon, his bag, or anything that might help in an escape attempt.

"Your concern is noted. We will head up momentarily. Goodbye." The woman said. You then see a small flicker out of the corner of your eye to your left near some other crates.

Nick sighs, more at his own mistake than the woman's terse treatment, "Well, all righty then," he said as he stood up once more, "Do be careful on your way back up then," he said in parting, nodding to the pair cordially before walking off calmly; keeping his senses alert for the purple he'd spotted, or for anyone following him.

Cain could only resist his urge to step forward when she stepped behind the kneeling Master of the Monastery, clenching his fist rhythmically again. He lunged when she cut his throat, stopping himself when brandishes the stiletto. This was not right. What was going on? Then she started talking about treason. Bringing in unapproved INQUISITORS? Sending information to Unova? The Councilor threw the stiletto at him, which he snatches from the air. He looks down at the bloody knife, then back up at Blakmoor, then to the other monks then back down at the knife. "Is... is it true?" He murmurs looking down at the blade.

He looks up at the other monks. "IS IT TRUE?" He didn't want to believe it.

"Well we have to wait an hour and it's evening already. I'd say it'd probably be best to find a place to sleep and head out in the morning after we make sure we're stocked up on supplies." She comments. "Do you know a cheap inn?" She asked. "I didn't stay here long enough when I passed through this morning."

Jack
You don't have much room to move since you're crammed in a barrel (spoiler). However, you feel most your stuff. Your money seems to be missing, luckily you didn't have much. However, its not good to notice that you're healing items (sans your first aid kit and poultices). It seems all you have in with you is your rope, your water filter, your first aid kit, and your poultices. Your empty pokeballs are missing, but your pokeballs with your pokemon are still on you.

Cain
The mentor just looks up at you but doesn't reply.

Lady Blackmoor however laughs, "What point is there in asking that?" She asks. "Do you hope for a confession? Why would he confess? A confession would give him no defense. And if he denied it, could you believe it? He'd only deny it to convince you to aid him."

Nick
As you head back out, you notice the small purple was just a rattata running to nibble at some seeds that seemed to have fallen out of a crate. You can feel the woman's eyes watching your back untrusting, but once you are further away, she seems less tense. You barely here her mutter, "It'll be fine..." To her daughter.

Cid
Dahlia looks surprised at your actions but quickly climbs out. "T-thank you." She says, seeming a bit nervous since you weren't caged anymore, but she was obviously grateful at the same time.

Cid nods to her, "...it won't be safe to stay down here..." he comments, "...above deck would not be much better..." he notes, as he looks out the hole in the wall to spot what they were actually fighting, "...might not be lucky the next time one of those comes through... above deck we'd at least be able to see where the cannonballs are firing..." he says, then looks at Dahlia, "...what do you think...?"

Jack worms his way out of the barrel and takes a look around as he surveys his surroundings. At the same time he notices a few items are missing from his bag. Those Mother... Get a hold of yourself. Staying calm is the key to getting out of any situation. He says to himself. He then feels the bullet wound and his thoughts instantly go to Frogger. How badly was he injured in the fighting?

"Death is the only thing that awaits him either way, the least he could do is admit to it and die with some honor!" Cain says, looking back down at the knife. He walks forward, giving the monk a hard look as he did. "You'd bring in inquisitors? Even though you know what they do?" He holds the knife up to the monk's throat. "THEY KILL PEOPLE LIKE ME! FOR NO REASON!" His free hand clenches and unclenches. "I guess I never mattered to you people after all." With a jerk, he shoves the knife upwards through the bottom of the man's jaw and up into his skull.

Wisp leads Kira to the inn she has been staying in. Its a balance between a low price and some of the amenities Wisp preferes like private bathing which is something she was actually looking forward to as the level of blood sweat and dirt that presently covers her currently outweighs her frazzled anxiety despite recent events. She will check in first and ask for a private room and for a bath to be drawn for her as she pays. She'll also be under the mask everyone is already familiar with, she isn't in the mood to put on any faces.
