Mage’s Magnificent Mansion I plan to modify this spell slightly as DM Almost like Alice in wonderland.
Basically PC falls into a cauldron or climbs into it because a gnome wizard does something to entice it. When they attempt to follow the wizard; they peer into the cauldron only to see that he has vanished. PC climbs in to check it out. Who now falls into a portal that wont quite lead to a Mansion but instead maybe a labyrinth or an instant dungeon. Once he lands he finds a note from the wizard promising a way out if they can find him. At this point I would set up a map with multiple floors or a maze. I just wanted to see other peoples opinions on if this even seems remotely interesting. Maybe if they complete the quest I would present them with http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/c-d/cauldron-of-flying as a reward lol

It could certainly be interesting, yes. If a spellcaster rolls a DC 30 (or thereabouts) Spellcraft check on the cauldron before leaping in, it might be worth treating it as a "strange or unique effect", though, one worth giving them a hint for.

What happens if the PCs don't follow the wizard into the cauldron? What if they just spill the contents, or destroy it, or melt it down and make something else out of it?

There's already a spell that partially achieves what you're looking for. Its called Maze (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/maze.htm).
