Best 0 LA race for rogue/wizard [3.5]

Hey guys. Title says it all, not really looking to optimize (although I am going to be half wizard, does that count as optimizing? :smallbiggrin:) I don't want to be a total slouch in melee or dump str, but it doesn't have to be to high. So any recommendations? And as always, go nuts.

the race with the most appropriate stats would be lesser tiefling, but that might change based on what you want your character to do...

i find human is rather good for any character concept. only race with no drawbacks.
