One of my players just gained the Leadership feat from taking his second level in Master Ambassador. His character is currently ECL 7, and his leadership score is currently 14.

Thing is, his character is currently a Bard5/MasterAmbassador2 who has been making LUDICROUSLY high Perform checks, to the point where I want to actually have extraplanar beings start to notice, as described in the Perform skill description.

So, any ideas on what might be cool for an ECL 5 extraplanar being that loves to be told stories (as his character is a bard with Perform (oratory))?

The alignment of the being doesn't matter as the character is Chaotic Neutral, and the hit he would take to his leadership score for recruiting a cohort of a different alignment isn't big enough to drop the level of his cohort (since he's currently capable of recruiting a 10th level one if not for his own ECL).

I forget the level and the stats, but I think Tome of Battle has a creature called a Valkyrie that enjoys battle. It is CR 9, so maybe make a lower level version. The idea being that such a being might really enjoy tales of epic battles, and occupy the meat shield role that I assume Mr. Perform really isn't fulfilling himself. It is also a different twist, as the thing would be more then willing to wade into combat as a contrast to how I assume your PC acts, as well as not being overly artistic itself.

That's actually a really cool idea, especially considering that Valkyries have a Norse background and everyone knows how much the Old Norse guys loved their stories.

That monster should be distinguished from Norse Valkyries, which are briefly statted in Deities and Demigods, and probably not at all useful for this purpose.

Many types of fey love performances, and I'm sure there are extraplanar ones, too.

My vote is for a lilend (Monster Manual), a senmurv (Fiend Folio, I think), or one of the more artistic of the various eladrin (who are fluffed as being very aesthetically-minded and creative...I'm mainly thinking of firre here...I believe firre are in Monster Manual or Book of Exalted Deeds).

Norse Valkyries AFIAK don't do much other then escort the honored dead slain in battle. Not sure how that'll benefit the character much, but might freak them out a bit. I think the ToB has them as warriors who seek to battle near constantly, but I could be mistaken. I thought it might have been a better contrast, as well as a set of different skills. Nothing prevents a bit of Norse flavor sneaking in so that while they aren't inclined to make art, that they wouldn't appreciate epics.

Also Chaotic Neutral, so no penalty there. I know it was listed as not being a problem, but hey, why not run with it. Also, won't object to any shennigans of a less than goodly nature. (And what is the point of a high diplomacy score if not shenanigans)

I would second an Extraplanar Fey. Particularly a Good Fey, if you can swing it, because that gives an excellent RP excuse to obtain the Nymph's Kiss feat, which is quite a lot of alright.

Technically, aren't Dusklings Fey (Extraplanar, Incarnum)? Poor choice for what you're doing, but it tags both bases. And it's a PC race, without an LA, which is perfectly acceptable for a cohort.
