I was browsing the SRD the other day and came across this. I love the idea of more options, but I don't know what to think of the flavor. On the one hand, I think it could work well, but on the other I do worry about the repercussions of it. I also wonder if it only really makes sense in a world with clerics of philosophies, in which case this guy is half and half.
I was also considering a homebrew world where the gods aren't entities hanging around another dimension, but actual people ascended to godhood and quite present in the physical world. I wonder if having Separatists in a world where the high priest can literally ask the god would be a bit non-nonsensical, or imply that the gods micormanage far too much. (Could explain why they aren't around fixing problems if they often have to correct errors or police their own priesthood. 'You there, we had a talk about those virgins...')
