Riding a same sized creature?

Is there any feat or ability that will allow a character to ride a creature that is of same size?

There's a Dragonlance feat that does this called 'Powerful Mount', but the only 'official' Dragonlance sourcebook is the Dragonlance Campaign Setting. I think Powerful Mount is from one of the other Dragonlance books, which are all 3rd party.

You gotta wonder why WotC sanctioned the introduction to the setting but nothing that helped develop it.
