Basically I am working with my DM to build a series of encounters focused on the semi-real physics from creative uses of shadow conjuration but we are having troubles deciding on the CR for these encounters.
The premise is we are going to a plane of shadow that is semi sentient and a bit mischievous (not malicious tho) and it shapes itself to, for example, have shadow conjured pebbles drop on the ceiling and 80% of the time fall through, basically insinuating the floor isn't solid, or filling a broken section of an arch to look solid but people would fall through if they disbelieved the effect.
Some, like the second example are fairly easy, just model it after a hidden pit trap, but how do you determine threat when there isn't one?
If needed I can provide actual encounters.
