View Full Version : Pathfinder Replicating the Monk using Psionic Powers

I've been considering brewing an archetype for Monks not unlike one I did for Rogues (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?340115-Sword-amp-Sorcery-for-Sneaky-Scoundrels&p=17271958&viewfull=1#post17271958).

If possible, however, I'd like the Monk to not lose access to any iconic ability in the process. As such, I'd like to figure out if all bases can be hit by using extant psionic powers.

The abilities I'm looking to replicate are the same ones replaced by the Qinggong archetype (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/monk/archetypes/paizo---monk-archetypes/qinggong-monk), namely:

slow fall (4th), high jump (5th), wholeness of body (7th), diamond body (11th), abundant step (12th), diamond soul (13th), quivering palm (15th), timeless body (17th), tongue of the sun and moon (17th), empty body (19th), and perfect self (20th)

In case the ki powers available through the qinggong archetype can be replicated too, all the better!

I'm not very knowledgeable about psionics, however. Could the Playground please help me out in this enterprise?

Note that both PsyWar and Psion can use Expanded Knowledge to get powers not normally on their list. PsyWar has a few more bonus feats to spend on that, too.

Not only that, I'm looking at this with homebrewing in mind. The current classes' power lists don't matter much to me.

Anyways, thanks a lot, Starbuck! You gave me a lot to think about!

You could take a gander at this (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/classes/psychic-warrior/archetypes/dreamscarred-press/meditant) for some inspiration. It's a psychic warrior archetype with some monk features.
