Gem Dragons

Do Gem dragons have the sorcerer powers of their metallic and chromatic brethren? Have they any LA, as they were originally printed in 3.0? Are they worth playing in a Gestalt with a psion, considering they get psionic abilities?

Only if you're not using Psionics. Otherwise, they have manifester levels.

The LA for the various Gem Dragons is in the 3.5 update for MMII, found here (https://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20030718a). The Sapphire Dragon is decently playable at 5 RHD/2 LA with a good breath weapon. None of them get psionics until later age categories and as Larkas said, they only get Sorc casting if you aren't using Psionics.

If you're interested in a Gem Dragon build, gestalt or otherwise, I and the handbook in my sig could probably help (though the handbook is in need of some updating). Do you have access to Dragon Magazine material? The Ravening Dragon Psychosis from Dragon 313 could help you get a lot more use out of the breath weapon.
