This came up in another thread a while back involving an Aleax and its quarry, a then-deceased druid. My idea to take out the Aleax was to make the druid's bones into spears and launch them out of some sort of relativistic railgun of magic (stats exist for nuclear weapons in d20 modern, and a femur at 90% light speed would release energy on par with the Tsar Bomba). But I wonder, oh masters of optimization, what is the cheapest, most powerful magic railgun you can devise. Epic spells are fair game, but ideally this would be something reproducible by non-epic characters (i.e. non-epic).

I'd imagine something similar to the Lightning Rail from Eberron would work.

Well, if we're doing pure physics, teleporting a tungsten rod into orbit and then letting it fall on the target would do it. Unfortunately, D&D caps the damage at 20d6.

Wasnt a line of peasants passing a pebble a free action? :D

Mailman Build. Look it up. It does what you want. It can blow up anything it can target.
