I'm making a human kensai-style fighter with the Weapon Master archetype for an upcoming game, starting at 1st level, and I need some suggestions for feats. I already know I'm taking Weapon Focus, but I'm undecided for the other two. Improved Initiative and Power Attack are ones I'm considering. This character is all about direct, deadly fighting, without much focus on fancy special maneuvers, so it'd be good to reinforce that. Thoughts?

Yeah. Don't go Weapon Master then :smalltongue:

But seriously...it really doesn't offer all that much.
Sure you get Weapon Training starting 2 levels early, but that's about it for the 'big' bonuses.

There are (at least) 2 better options:

Dragoon (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/fighter/archetypes/paizo---fighter-archetypes/dragoon) gets double the damage bonuses with Weapon Training (Spear Group only) and at 7th you can make Reach _and_ adjacent attacks without any penalties or extra hoops to jump through.

Two-Handed Fighter (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/fighter/archetypes/paizo---fighter-archetypes/two-handed-fighter) deals x2 STR when making a Standard action attack (instead of 1.5 STR). Weapon Training only applies to two-handed weapons. At 7th all attacks (but the first) of a Full Attack deal x2 STR damage.

Well I'm going Weapon Master no matter what, so think of it as helping me make a suboptimal build playable, if that helps :smalltongue: I'm not that attached to the latter part of what I was describing--that was mostly just to help people narrow down what feats would be good. Whatever is the best way to make a usable Weapon Master is fine by me.

The 'step up' line of feats is, overall, excellent.
