Ok so one of my players in my campaign which is gonna be gestalt needs a character and they want to play a Paladin Bard or a paladin of Cayden Cailen who was kind of seen as a drunk and bard-like to a degree so the fluff he wants works well but what tips could you give to him I know the Cha based synergy is nice but what else?

Also we allow 3.5 Material.

Well, depends. Paladin/Bard is a nice combo in itself, but what do they want to excel at? Archery? Two-weapon fighting? Tanking? What roles in-combat and outside of combat do they want to fill?

He wants to use his Bard side to buff himself and his party mates up. His Paladin side is more for minor healing offsets with lay on hands and more martial prowess of the d10 Hd and full BAB along with all good saves. So light armor and likely using two weapon (Rapiers I think) or maybe a shield I don't know if he wants to go sword and board he has suggested a minor interest in it.
