Hello giants,

I am putting together some of the classes in my setting, and wanted to ask y'all what are some of the best Fighter fixes you have come across on this forum? I have heard the problem with fighters are many, and I am sure some people have already come up with some unique solutions to fix them.

Warblade will already be a class in my setting, so I'm looking for homebrew solutions to Fighters.

.
If you allow Warblade and other ToB stuff, and the Warblade's power & versatility are your sweet spot, then you don't really need to put effort to fixing the Fighter.

The only immediate change I'd apply to the Warblade is to allow players to choose between Int/Wis/Cha for the bonuses of the innate class features.

Myself, I don't like it that ToB is a system (in and on itself) within a system, but that shouldn't be a factor for you if you like it.
If you're considering ToB alternatives, then this is my preferred Fighter fix (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?277935-Warrior-II-nonsi-meets-Grod_The_Giant-(PEACH)&p=14982442&viewfull=1#post14982442). It will appear in a big thread of house rules I'm hoping to present in the next few weeks.

Such a big question...

Fixing the Fighter is a tough tough thing to do. Some believe he needs to compete with the Tier 1s... Some believe he needs to be a solid Tier 3... Others believe why should you fix the fighter when Wizards already blessed us mere mortals with perfection in the Warblade and TOB.

Me, I don't like TOB, so Warblade is out. I also feel that the tier 1s need to be brought down while the lower tiers need a boost. Overpowering a Tier 4 and Cali g it a tier 3 like Warblade is not the answer. I believe the Fighter needs versatility and options boosting him to highish Tier 4.

Here was my Fighter Fix (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=14422338&postcount=1).

I have a few that I feel are great. The ones that ifeel capture the idea of a fighter best are

Jiriku's (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?194834-3-5-Fighter-Remix-Doin-it-old-school)
and

Mine (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?318268-My-Latest-big-project!-(-a-big-deal-fighter-fix)) ( of course it is not finished)

Zeignader his his fighting style fighter (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?218637-Yet-Another-Fighter-Rewrite-3-5-Base-Class-PEACH)

and his action hero (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?208356-Action-Hero-(Fighter-Class-Fix)-D-amp-D-3-5&p=11468240#post11468240) fighter

he also ha a legendary fighter (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?201146-Fighter-Remix-Reloaded-3-5-Legend-Ready-to-Play)

Jiriku's was my all time fave, till i started working on mine, and i owe him a lot for how to implement what i have alwasy envisioned the good 3rd ed fighter, along with grod and zeiganders idea that a fighter is not joe schmo down the road he is heracles, beowulf or indrajit, and should get said abilities.

and by that I feel that a good fighter fix is one that gives a fighter chassis all the same things, then branches out so that a player has differeing archetypes ( such as mine) or fighting styles ( like jiriku's and zeigander's) where a plaler can focus their fighter character into a beserker, archer, or what have you)

Grod the Giants (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=276280) great fixes (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=242782)

and zeigander (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?276366-The-Fighter-Problem-amp-How-to-Fix-It) has a design philosphy/what the 3rd ed fighter should have been post I highly recommend reading it
