As the title says, a thread for creating some homebrew Masterpieces. I love them as a concept, as they add some very cool options for giving your bard some unique flavor.

I only have one so far for peer review, for a Warrior Poet style bard. More to come eventually, probably. Critiques and other homebrews welcome!

Elegy of Blood and Steel
This brief poem changes with every telling, but is always an homage to the parting speech given by the Heavenly King to his greatest foe just before his death.

Prerequisites: Perform (Oratory) 5 ranks.

Cost: Feat or 3rd-level bard spell known.

Effect: When you reduce an enemy to below zero hit points as a result of a melee attack, you may activate this masterpiece. You say a brief haiku or other small poem, and your foe remains standing until you finish, at which point they collapse as normal. All creatures within 30 feet who are capable of hearing can both hear and understand your words. These are both supernatural effects.

You may then make an immediate check to demoralize all foes within 30 feet, using Perform (Oratory) in place of Intimidate for the roll. You receive a +1 morale bonus on this check for every two hit dice by which your downed foe exceeded your level. Foes who for whatever reason–deafness, magical silence effects and the like–can not hear your words are immune to this check.

Use: 3 Bardic Performance rounds.

Action: 1 immediate action.
