persisted consumtionfield and extend metarod

So if I cast a DM persisted consumption field so adn cast an extend through the rod that it lasts 48 hours the next day could I not extend it again so that I don't lose the bonuses to str and temp hit points thus creating an endless loop?

Nope, you could CAST it again, but there is not way to extend something twice. The effects doesn't stack with itself.

Also note that you don't "cast an extend"-- You apply the Extend Spell metamagic at the time that you cast a spell. Once it's already cast, it's too late to change how you cast it (unless you're an incantatrix).

Even if you ARE an incantrix, you can't extend a spell twice. The metamagic does not stack with itself.
