Hey all, I've had a lot of fun playing heavy metal bards back in 3.5. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be as much support for the lyrically-assisted crushing of faces in Pathfinder. Either my google-fu has utterly failed me, or there really aren't any good guides for a bardic face-melter and skull-crusher. Treantmonk's guide is 5 years old and doesn't reflect any of the new books, and even the more recent guides from last year are missing materials.

So, how would you go about building a heavy metal monster in Pathfinder?
Arcane Duelist? Thunderstriker + a barbarian level or two?
Bard+Cavalier to Battle herald?
Druid 20?

Savage Skald (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/core-classes/bard/archetypes/paizo---bard-archetypes/savage-skald), maybe?

Eh, thematically I like it. Mechanically, Savage Skald gives up a lot for some situationally useful stuff, or things that sound cool, but are totally impractical. Song of the Fallen sounds totally sweet, but it takes 10 rounds to pull out. When are you ever going to get 10 rounds to build up?

Is there any Pathfinder equipment that's a must have for a melee bard?
