I'm aware of a 50 page limit for threads (though I'm not sure where that came from) but I was wondering if the revised site still has this limit. What is the reasoning behind a 50 page limit? Is it just to keep threads manageable?

Yes, pretty much. You don't have to end a thread bang on the 50th page, if you are right in the middle of something or the person who should restart it isn't there (if applicable), but it should be restarted at 50 or very soon after.

There are many technical and managerial reasons why 50 pages works out to be a good number. And, to dispel any future doubt, no change or upgrade we make will ever change this limitation, unless we explicitly say otherwise.
