My revamp of paladin class, for your pleasure :smallcool: Exalted mount ability is somewhat unfinished, but aside from that the class is complete.

CLASS FEATURES
All of the following are class features of the paladin.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Paladins are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, with all types of armor (heavy, medium, and light), and with shields (except tower shields).

Aura of Good (Ex): The power of a paladin’s aura of good (see the detect good spell) is equal to her paladin level, just like the aura of a cleric of a good deity.

Code of Conduct: A paladin must be of good alignment and loses all class abilities if she ever willingly commits an evil act, she must help those in need (provided they do not use the help for evil or chaotic ends), and punish those who harm or threaten innocents. In addition, paladin’s dedication may require additional commandments.
Associates: A paladin cannot associate with evil characters. Same as in Player’s Handbook.
Ex-Paladins: A paladin who violates his code of conduct loses some of his class abilities. A paladin can multiclass freely. Otherwise same as in Player’s Handbook.

Holy Light (Su): A 1st level paladin can call exalted powers to cause a variety of supernatural effects. She can use this ability a numer of times per day equal to half her paladin level + her Wisdom bonus.
Lay on Hands: A paladin can heal a number of wounds equal to her paladin level to herself or a creature she touches. Using lay on hands is a standard action. Alternatively, a paladin can use any or all of this healing power to deal damage to an undead or evil outsider. Using lay on hands in this way requires a successful melee touch attack.
Remove Disease: A paladin can use holy light to remove all non-magical diseases from a creature she touches.
Smite Evil: A paladin may attempt to smite evil with one normal melee attack. She adds her Wisdom bonus (if any) to her attack roll and deals 1 extra point of damage per paladin level. If the paladin accidentally smites a creature that is not evil, the smite has no effect, but the ability is still used up.
Turn Fiend: A paladin can use holy light to rebuke evil outsiders in the same manner a good cleric can affect undead. Whenever an evil outsider would be destroyed by a paladin, it is sent to Carceri instead.Spellcasting: A paladin casts divine spells, which are drawn from the paladin spell list.
To learn or cast a spell, a paladin must have a Wisdom score equal to at least 10 + the spell's level. The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a paladin’s spell is 10 + one-fourth the paladin's level + the paladin’s Wisdom modifier.
Like other spellcasters, a paladin can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day (excluding invocations, see below). The paladin doesn't receive bonus spells per day for having high Wisdom score. Like bard or incarnate, a paladin may know a number of spells from each spell level equal to 3 + her Wisdom modifier. It is possible for her to learn spells above that limit, but the costs are high.
A paladin need not prepare her spells in advance. She can cast any spell she knows at any time, assuming she has not yet used up her spells per day for that level. She does not have to decide ahead of time which spells she’ll cast.
Paladin’s caster level is equal to 1/2 her class level, rounded up.

Spell List: This is the updated list of paladin’s spells.
0 level - Bless Water, Create Water, Cure Minor Wounds, Detect Poison, Read Magic, Resistance, Virtue
1st level - Bless, Bless Weapon, Cure Light Wounds, Detect Evil, Detect Undead, Divine Favor, Endure Elements, Lesser Restoration, Magic Weapon, Protection from Evil
2nd level - Bull’s Strength, Cure Moderate Wounds, Delay Poison, Eagle’s Splendor, Owl’s Wisdom, Remove Paralysis, Resist Energy, Shield Other, Undetectable Alignment, Zone of Truth
3rd level - Cure Serious Wounds, Daylight, Discern Lies, Dispel Magic, Greater Magic Weapon, Heal Mount, Magic Circle against Evil, Neutralize Poison, Prayer, Remove Blindness/Deafness, Remove Curse, Restoration.Learning New Spells: A paladin can learn any spell from her list, but doing so is tasking and requires a sacrifice. To learn a spell, a paladin must pay an amount of gold equal to spell level squared x 50 (or 25 gp in case of 0-level spells). That money is used as an offering to the good cause, such as feeding the poor, or fuelling a war effort against drow. In addition, a paladin prays for spells in a place sacred to a good deity. Prayer must take 1 hour per spell level (30 minutes for a 0-level spell) and can not be interrupted. If it is, it must be performed again, and the offerings are lost.
If a paladin attempts to learn a spell and she already reached her limit of spells known for that level, multiply gold cost by 10.
A newly created 1st level paladin knows a number of 0-level spells equal to her Wis bonus.

Invocations: A paladin can cast some spells as invocations. That means that she doesn't need to spend a slot of an appropriate level to cast that spell. Since paladin’s caster level is equal to half her class level, spells use the same caster level whether they are cast normally or as invocations. A paladin can cast invocations even if she has no slots left.
At 2nd level, a paladin learns how to cast one 0-level spell from the list below as invocation (provided she knows that spell).
At 6th level and every 5 levels thereafter, a paladin learns how to cast another spell from the list. A paladin can choose a spell she doesn't know yet, but she is unable to cast it until she learns it. She cannot, however, choose a spell she can't yet cast because her class level is too low to access that level of spells.
List of spells a paladin can cast as invocations:
0 level - Resistance, Virtue
1st level - Detect Evil, Magic Weapon
2nd level - Delay Poison, Shield Other
3rd level - Daylight, Prayer.Divine Grace (Su): A 2nd level paladin gains a sacred bonus equal to her Charisma bonus (if any) on all saving throws.

Radiance (Su): At 3rd level and every 5 levels thereafter, a paladin gains one radiance from the list below. A paladin can activate any radiance she knows as a move action and the effects persist until the paladin either changes the radiance or loses consciousness. She can have only one radiance active at any given time. Each radiance has range of 20 ft. and affects both paladin and her allies. Creatures with evil alignment can never gain any benefits from radiance, even if they are not paladin’s enemies.
Radiance of Champions: A paladin gains +2 sacred bonus on all Strength-based skill checks. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain +1 sacred bonus on all Strength-based skill checks.
Radiance of Chill: A paladin gains Fire Resistance 5, or her existing Fire Resistance improves by 5. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain Fire Resistance 3, or their existing Fire Resistance improves by 3.
Radiance of Courage: A paladin is immune to fear. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain a +4 sacred bonus on saving throws against fear effects.
Radiance of Dawn: A paladin gains ability to see in any darkness, even magical, up to range of 60 ft. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain darkvision.
Radiance of Devotion: A paladin gains +2 sacred bonus on Will saves. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain a +1 sacred bonus on Will saves.
Radiance of Endurance: A paladin gains +2 sacred bonus on Fortitude saves. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain a +1 sacred bonus on Fortitude saves.
Radiance of Golden Light: Any healing spell cast on paladin is treated as if it had +2 caster levels. Any healing spell cast on non-evil allies within 20 ft. is treated as if it had +1 caster level.
Radiance of Health: A paladin is immune to disease (including magical ones). Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain a +4 sacred bonus on saves against disease. This radiance does not remove disease already affecting a character.
Radiance of Kindness: A paladin gains +2 sacred bonus on saves against spells and spell-like abilities or evil creatures. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain a +1 sacred bonus on saves against spells and spell-like abilities of evil creatures.
Radiance of Kings: A paladin gains +2 sacred bonus on all Concentration and Wisdom-based skill checks. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain +1 sacred bonus on all Concentration and Wisdom-based skill checks.

Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain Acid, Electricity, and Sonic Resistance 3, or their existing Acid, Electricity, and Sonic Resistance improves by 3.
Radiance of Warmth: A paladin gains Cold Resistance 5, or her existing Cold Resistance improves by 5. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain Cold Resistance 3, or their existing Cold Resistance improves by 3.Cause: A paladin has something she loves and sworn to defend at all cost. The available causes are: freedom, life, loyalty, order, peace, and truth. The cause provides paladin with additional restrictions to her code of conduct and four special abilities, including extra spells added to her list.

1. Freedom: Paladin of freedom is often wandering loner fighting oppressing dictators and evil rulers. A paladin of freedom must have chaotic good alignment, must respect individual liberty, and punish those who threaten or curtail such liberty.
Liberate (Ex): At 5th level, whenever a paladin uses Lay on Hands, she also removes stun and paralysis effects from the creature touched.
A paladin can learn Protection from Law as a 1st level spell.
Divine Repulsion (Su): At 10th level, a paladin may spend one use of Holy Light as a move action to move all creatures occupying her square on random adjacent squares.
A paladin can learn Cat's Grace as a 2nd level spell.
Hermes Step (Su): At 15th level, a paladin may spend one use of Holy Light to gain ability to move on any kind of surface for 1 minute. For moving on water, see water walk spell. A paladin can walk on lava normally, but still suffers 2d6 points of fire damage per round of exposure.
A paladin can learn Freedom of Movement as a 3rd level spell.
Remove Obstruction (Su): At 20th level, a paladin can spend one use of Holy Light to annihilate any wall created by spell (wall of force, ice, stone, prismatic wall, etc.) as a move action.2. Life: Paladins dedicated to life swear help those who are in need of medical attention. They don’t have any oaths that forbid them from killing evil creatures but paladins do so with hesitation and they spare enemies that no longer pose a threat. Paladins of life fight undead with zeal, for they see such creatures as mockery of life itself. A paladin of life may not kill living non-evil creature unless in self-defense or for food. She also cannot kill evil creature if she can see a change for that creature to coexist peacefully with either paladin or her allies (or people she protects etc.). A paladin may not ignore cry for help from wounded or sick creature.
Alabaster Essence (Su): At 5th level, a paladin can spend one use of Holy Light to grant herself or any touched creature a number of temporary hit points equal to half her paladin level. Those hit points remain for 1 hour.
A paladin can learn Shield of Faith as a 1st level spell.
Invigorate (Su): At 10th level, whenever a paladin uses Lay on Hands, she also restores 1 point of every ability score damage to the creature touched.
A paladin can learn Status as a 2nd level spell.
Energy Infusion (Su): At 15th level, whenever a paladin uses Lay on Hands, she also removes all negative levels from the creature touched.
A paladin can learn Remove Disease as a 3rd level spell.
Battle Resurrection (Su): At 20th level, a paladin can resurrect a dead ally by spending three uses of Holy Light as a full-round action. The target is prone, at full hit points and is cleaned of all temporary effects and conditions (such as ability or level drain). Resurrected ally can act normally for 1 round per paladin level, after which he returns to the afterlife. Battle resurrection does not cause any experience loss or other effects associated with raising the dead. A paladin can't use this ability more than once per encounter.3. Loyalty: Paladins dedicated to loyalty believe in friendship and fight with zeal to protect those they care for. They fight in the name of loyalty and family. A paladin must protect her friends and loved ones and she may never abuse trust others put in her. A paladin must always respect teamwork and camaradrie, even in opponents.
Critical Care (Su): At 5th level, a paladin can use Lay on Hands on allies within 30 ft. range instead of touching them.
A paladin can learn Remove Fear as a 1st level spell.
Shelter the Comrade (Su): At 10th level, a paladin can spend one use of Holy Light as immediate action to become the new target of any spell or spell-like ability that is cast on an ally within 30 ft. If paladin is not a valid target for the effect, this ability does not work but Holy Light is still expended.
A paladin can learn Protection from Energy as a 2nd level spell.
Share Burden (Su): Whenever an ally within 20 ft. from a 15th level paladin takes damage, she can transfer up to half that damage to herself. Whenever the paladin suffers damage, any ally within 20 ft. can transfer up to half that damage to himself. Sharing burden is a free action any creature can use once per round.
A paladin can learn Good Hope as a 3rd level spell.
Relieve Ally (Ex): At 20th level, a paladin can cast remove curse as invocation.4. Order: Paladin of order believes in law and greater order of things. To paladin, laws, especially just and wise ones, are as important as struggle between Good and Evil. A paladin of order must have lawful good alignment, must respect legitimate authority that is, or is trying to be, lawful good, and act with honor (not lying, not cheating, not using poison, and so forth).
Police the Unruly (Su): At 5th level, a paladin can spend one use of Holy Light as a standard action to deal 1d8 + paladin level divine damage to a creature within 60 ft. Fortitude save halves the damage (DC 10 + half paladin level + paladin's Cha modifier, evil creatures suffer a -4 penalty on that save).
A paladin can learn Protection from Chaos as a 1st level spell.
Smite Anarchy (Su): At 10th level, a paladin can smite chaotic creatures as well as evil ones.
A paladin can learn Hold Person as a 2nd level spell.
Rightful Place (Su): At 15th level, at the end of each turn in which a paladin dealt damage to an evil or chaotic creature, she heals herself 2d6 points of damage.
A paladin can learn Magic Circle against Chaos as a 3rd level spell.
Judgement (Su): At 20th level, a paladin can spend 3 uses of Holy Light as a standard action to deal 1d6 points of divine damage per half paladin level + her Charisma bonus (if any) to all undead and evil outsiders within 60 ft. Fortitude save halves the damage (DC 10 + half paladin level + paladin's Cha modifier, evil creatures suffer a -4 penalty on that save).5. Peace: Paladins of peace believe that problems can be solved via peaceful diplomatic means. They make good negotiators and peacekeepers. A paladin of peace may not attack unprovoked. She must also try diplomatic means (or other means, depending on situation) before entering combat, if it’s only possible and reasonable. A paladin is under no such compulsion when the creature is mindless, undead, or an evil outsider (but still can't attack unprovoked).
Cool Tensions (Su): At 5th level, a paladin can spend one use of Holy Light to grant herself and all creatures (including enemies, even evil ones) within 100 ft. damage reduction 5/- and a +2 bonus on saving throws against spells for 10 minutes. A paladin can end this effect as a free action.
A paladin can learn Sanctuary as a 1st level spell.
Divine Shield (Su): At 10th level, a paladin can encase herself in a field of golden energy by spending one use of Holy Light as a standard action. While in the shield, a paladin gains Damage Reduction 5/- + her paladin level and spell resistance 10 + her paladin level. Shield's duration is 1 minute but it automatically ends if the paladin attacks or performs any other potentially harmful action.
A paladin can learn Calm Emotions as a 2nd level spell.
Retribution (Su): At 15th level, whenever a creature within 30 ft. deals damage to the paladin, it suffers 1d4 points of damage itself.
A paladin can learn Deep Slumber as a 3rd level spell.
Shimmering Shield (Su): At 20th level, a paladin gains +5 sacred bonus to AC when fighting defensively and a +10 sacred bonus to AC when taking total defense action.6. Truth: Paladins of truth believe in justice, honesty and verity. They are sometimes naïve but gain friends and allies easily. A paladin of freedom must have lawful good alignment, and may not lie or cheat.
Sense of Truth (Ex): At 5th level, a paladin gains +4 morale bonus on all saving throws against illusions spells and effects and gains +4 bonus on Sense Motive checks to avoid being bluffed.
A paladin can learn Detect Magic as a 1st level spell.
Mindslip (Su): At 10th level, a paladin can spend one use of Holy Light and touch a creature under effects of charm, compulsion, figment, or phantasm effect, as a standard action. If the effect allows a saving throw, the creature can immediately make a new save to shake the effect.
A paladin can learn Augury as a 2nd level spell.
Clarity of Vision (Su): At 15th level, whenever a paladin uses Lay on Hands, she also removes blindness, daze, dazzle, and deafness conditions from the creature touched.
A paladin can learn Invisibility Purge as a 3rd level spell.
True Seeing (Su): At 20th level, a paladin is under constant effect of true seeing.Exalted Mount: At 7th level, a paladin gains the servitude of a celestial rideable magical creature. She may select her mount from the following list: bison, boar, camel, crocodile, dire badger, dire bat, hippogrif, horse (any), monitor lizard, riding dog. If the campaign takes place wholly or partly in an aquatic environment, the following creatures are also available: [another list]. Use creature's statistics as described in Monster Manual, but apply celestial template as well. A paladin must be small enough to ride the mount. For example, a half-orc paladin cannot choose celestial wolf as her exalted mount. This creature is a loyal companion that accompanies the paladin on his adventures.
A paladin's companion has 1 extra Hit Die for every 2 paladin levels beyond 7th. This bonus cannot make companion have more hit dice that it normally could (according to Monster Manual). In addition, the companion has a +1 bonus on Stregth, Dexterity, Constitution, and Wisdom for every 2 paladin levels beyond 7th, as if it was born with exceptionally high ability scores.
If a paladin releases her mount from service, she may be granted a new after 24 hours and one hour of prayer.
A paladin gains +4 bonus on Ride checks with her exalted mount.
A paladin of 11th level or higher may select from alternative lists of creatures: dire wolf, giant eagle, lion, pegasus, unicorn.
A paladin of 15th level or higher may select from alternative lists of creatures: dire lion, megaraptor, young brass dragon.
A paladin of 19th level or higher may select from alternative lists of creatures: dire tiger, elephant, juvenile brass dragon, tyrannosaurus, young copper dragon, young bronze dragon, young silver dragon.

Brilliant Radiance: At 11th level, a paladin can upkeep 2 radiances at once.

Celestial Radiance: At 19th level, a paladin can upkeep up to 3 radiances at once.

Not sure how this works out for balance, but flavor-wise, I like it very much.

To clarify in my mind... A paladin of this, at 20th level, can technically Lay on Hands for 20 healing, up to 10+Cha per day?

Seems balanced pretty well, in my mind. This would be neat to play. :)

Yes, but she has to forfeit all smites, remove diseases, turnings, and quite many special abilities to do so.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Wasn't saying it was a bad thing; I just picked an easy example to make sure I understood how it worked. Very nice...

BTW, if this class feels like World of Warcraft a little, don't be alarmed - it inspired me a little.

Wow...talk about deja-vu! I've just finished working on a revamp of the paladin class which was almost exactly like this!

It does feel a bit of WoW-ish. All of the variants do, but that's mostly because of the "path" setup (very similar to talent trees). That specialization is appealing in both games :) IMHO, of course

Funny thing is, I only played priest in WoW, and my cleric is not inspired by that game :). Paladin is, druid, ranger, and magus are to a slight degree, and that's pretty much it. Most classes are older than WoW :D

Turn Fiend: A paladin can use holy light to rebuke evil outsiders in the same manner a good cleric can affect undead. Whenever an evil outsider would be destroyed by a paladin, it is sent to Carceri instead.
Much easier to just say 'Whenever an evil outsider would be destroyed by a paladin, it is Banished instead'.

I have an issue with how you put forth the Cause of Love. Perhaps it should be changed to Camaraderie or perhaps Loyalty, with less of an emphasis on charming (which always seems to me as inherently not good), and more of an emphasis on team play, helping out his allies, and such.

How about this:
3. Loyalty: Paladin dedicated to loyalty believes in friendship and fights with zeal to protect those they care for. They fight in the name of loyalty and camaradrie. She must protect her friends and loved ones, she may never abuse trust others put in her. She must always respect teamwork and camaradrie, even in opponents.

Rally Cry (Ex): At 5th level, a paladin can use a Holy Light use to give all allies a +1 Morale bonus to AC and saves for a number of rounds equal to his paladin level. This bonus increases by +1 for every five levels.
A paladin can learn Shield Other as a 1st level spell.
Relieve the Ally (Ex): At 20th level, a paladin can cast remove curse as invocation. And just because it has to be said...

Divine Shield (Su): At 10th level, a paladin can encase herself in a field of golden energy by spending one use of Holy Light as a standard action. While in a shield, a paladin gains Damage Reduction 5/- + her paladin level and spell resistance 10 + her paladin level. Shield's duration is 1 minute but it automatically ends if the paladin attacks or performs any other potentially harmful action.

Loyalty might indeed fit better. I'll think about it.

Err... some of your radiance texts conflict in terms of alignment requirements.

To add to your list of critters, a Hippogriff (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/hippogriff.htm) is only CR 2. So is a Dire Badger (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/direBadger.htm) for Small paladins who want something nasty to fight with them. Blink Dog (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/blinkDog.htm) is also CR2, if you can figure out how to stay on the thing while it's blinking around. A Monitor Lizard (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/lizardMonitor.htm) is also CR2 for small guys.

For the CR8 level 19 'almost epic' mount, since you're doing a WoW flavor already, if they're an elf or friendly with elves, they can ride a Dire Tiger (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/direTiger.htm), which would likely look like the epic cat mounts.

Alternately, a Juvinile Blue Dragon is large size and only CR 8.

Thanks, I'll add some critters shortly.

I'm curious as to why you nixed 4th level spells. You've done that with the other divine casters you've posted recently, why is that?

Edit: and for kicks, where do you get all those awesome pictures?

Judgement (Su): At 20th level, a paladin can spend 3 uses of Holy Light as a standard action to deal a number of 1d6 points of damage equal to half paladin level + her Charisma bonus (if any) to all undead and evil outsiders within 60 ft. Fortitude save halves the damage (DC 10 + half paladin level + paladin's Cha modifier, evil creatures suffer a -4 penalty on that save).

the wording on this is kinda... odd
1d6 = 1/2 level +cha bonus?
do you mean something like
1d6 * 1/2 level +cha bonus?

It's a number of 1d6s, so one d6 per 1/2 level. How would you word it?

To compensate for the fact that all classes cast spontaneously. Classes that had 0-9 level spells originally now have 0-7, classes that had 0-6 now have 0-5, and classes that had 1-4 now have 0-3.

Added list of mounts.

Err... My bad. Nevermind. Originally, I meant causes, but rereading the section, uhh, nevermind. I thought for some reason that a paladin picked up more of them.

I haven't gotten through reading the whole thing yet, although it looks very nice. But in this section:

Radiance of Kindness: A paladin gains +2 sacred bonus on saves against spells and spell-like abilities or evil creatures. Non-evil allies within 20 ft. gain a +1 sacred bonus on saves against spells and spell-like abilities or evil creatures.

...what exactly does it mean by saves against evil creatures? Should that be "spells and spell-like abilities used by evil creatures?

Or it could just be a typo for 'of', I'm surprised I didn't think of that first.

There's a thought. Perhaps it should extend to spells with the [Evil] descriptor?

Some issues:

Holy Sword was one of the most characteristic spell/effects that Paladins had, and I don't see a replacement.

Your radiances don't scale well -- bonus's to save automatically scale, but damage resistance and energy resistance won't automatically scale. 5 points of cold resistance at L 3 is much stronger than 5 points of cold resistance at L 20.

Meanwhile, +4 to a save at L 3 is as good as +4 to a save at L 20.

Second, you moved the Paladin away from Charisma and towards Wisdom. Was this intentional?

It's a typo of course.
Evil spells are usually cast by evil characters, so don't think that's necessary.

Holy Sword was one of the most characteristic spell/effects that Paladins had, and I don't see a replacement.Completly forgot about that spell, but I'm not sure if there is a way for it to be back. Adding it as 3rd level spell would be a little too good (pun intended).

Meanwhile, +4 to a save at L 3 is as good as +4 to a save at L 20. They do actually. A +4 to save increases your save to 4 points above what the system expects you to have to, say 15th level. A Fire res +5 also increases your fire resistance to what the system expects you to have - either default 0 or some 10 or more from race or item/prestige class.

Second, you moved the Paladin away from Charisma and towards Wisdom. Was this intentional? Yes and no. I reduced the importance of charisma a little (but their best cha-based ability is still there - divine grace), but also reduced wisdom dependency by not giving bonus spells giving them good will save. It's probably a matter of taste but to me a paladin should be more wise than charismatic.

Grant some means of blessing their blade that scales with level.

Ie:
L 4 a Paladin can bless a non-magical masterwork weapon as a +1 weapon that is considered Good for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. This ritual takes 1 hour of prayer, and the weapon remains Blessed until the Paladin blesses another blade. Noone except the Paladin recieves these bonus's.

At L 6, 9, 12 and 15 the Blessed blade increases to +2, +3, +4 and +5.

At L 8 the Paladin can Bless two blades.

At L 10, the Blessed Blades do +1d6 Holy damage if they touch an Evil being.

At L 17 the Blessed Blades do +2d6 Holy damage if they touch an Evil being

They do actually. A +4 to save increases your save to 4 points above what the system expects you to have to, say 15th level.

*nod*, bonus to save scales well.

A Fire res +5 also increases your fire resistance to what the system expects you to have - either default 0 or some 10 or more from race or item/prestige class.

Bonus to resist doesn't scale nearly as well.

Damage in D&D goes up linearly with character level. At L 5, 5 points will soak about 1/3 of a fireball. At L 15, 5 points soaks less than 10%.

Gaining +10 HP at L 1 is much more powerful than gaining +10 HP at L 20 -- even if in both cases you have 10 more HP than the system expects.

Rolls that modify a d20 are "affine" -- if you took every d20 roll in D&D and added +10 to both the DC and the roll, the game doesn't change. +5 at L 20 is just as important as +5 at L 1 (which causes a huge heap of problems with D&D's balance, let me tell you!)

Modifiers to damage are linear. Taking spellcasters as a baseline, by L 20 spells do about 4 times as much damage per cast as spells at L 5 did, if not more. HP also scale up at this rate. So for a bonus to damage/damage soak at L 5 to be equal to a bonus at L 20, it needs to be about 5 times larger at L 20.

I'm just checking that you did it on purpose. Part of the neatness of the Paladin was that they gained their powers though their strength of self and belief in the Gods, not through their wisdom and understanding of the Gods will.

You changed the mythos -- that is acceptable.

Holy Sword was one of the most characteristic spell/effects that Paladins had, and I don't see a replacement.I have it now:

Evoke Holy Sword [Divine, Epic]
Prerequisites: Wis 15, ability to cast paladin spells of 3rd level.
Benefits: You can spend two uses of holy light as a standard action to channel holy power into your sword, or any other melee weapon you touch. For 1 round per 2 paladin levels, the weapon acts as a +5 holy weapon (+5 enhancement bonus (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/theBasics.htm#enhancementBonus) on attack and damage rolls, extra 2d6 (javascript:void(0);) damage against evil opponents). It also emits a magic circle against evil (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/magicCircleAgainstEvil.htm) effect (as the spell). If the magic circle ends, the sword creates a new one on your turn as a free action (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsInCombat.htm#freeActions). All effects are automatically canceled 1 round after the weapon leaves your hand. You cannot have more than one holy sword at a time. If this ability is used on a magic weapon, the powers of the spell supersede any that the weapon normally has, rendering the normal enhancement bonus (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/theBasics.htm#enhancementBonus) and powers of the weapon inoperative for the duration of the ability. This ability is not cumulative with bless weapon (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/blessWeapon.htm) or any other spell that might modify the weapon in any way.
This ability does not work on artifacts.

I like this! It's very... well, it doesn't taste like WoW, but it has that nice taste that WoW classes have.

Just a note: Invocations for Paladins. As long as the Paladin can cast that level of spell, they can cast those invocations? Or are they limited in some way? For other spells, how would a Paladin "learn" new spells if they can cast whatever's already on their list? (Also, you say "cleric" and "wizard" in the text in that section, just letting you know).

Szatany

Well, this is no longer true that they can cast whatever they want as invocations (if that's possible at all). Now paladins, like other spellcasters of my design, can choose one spell per x levels from the invocation list and cast it as such.

Paladin, like all other casters, learns new spells just like wizard does (with some minor flavor-centered differences for each class).

EDIT: Reworked Love into Loylaty, mostly as ShneekeyTheLost suggested.
