Class features

The following are all class features of the dragon rider.

Weapon and Armour Proficiency
The dragon rider is proficient in all simple and martial weapons, all light and medium armour, and all shields (Except tower shields).

Mounted Combat
At first level, the Dragon Rider receives Mounted Combat as a bonus feat.

Bonus Feats
At 2nd level, a dragon rider gets a bonus combat-oriented feat. The dragon rider gains an additional bonus feat every six dragon rider levels thereafter (8th, 14th and 20th). These bonus feats must be drawn from the feats noted as fighter bonus feats. A dragon rider must still meet all prerequisites for a bonus feat, including ability score and base attack bonus minimums.

These bonus feats are in addition to the feat that a character of any class gets from advancing levels. A dragon rider is not limited to the list of fighter bonus feats when choosing these feats.

Bonus Language: Draconic
At fourth level, the dragon rider gains Draconic as a bonus language, even if Draconic is not a language normally available to members of his race. If he already speaks draconic, he instead learns a new language from those normally available to his race.

Dragon companion

Energy Resistance

Mounted Combat Feat
At each of 10th and 19th level, the dragon rider chooses a single feat which lists Mounted Combat as a prerequisite, and gains that feat as a bonus feat.

Flyby Attack
At 13th level, the dragon rider and his dragon gain the benefit of the Flyby Attack feat.

Frightful Presence
At 15th level, the dragon rider gains his dragon's frightful presence ability. Use the dragon rider's own hit dice to work out which creatures are affected.

I haven't statted out the dragon companion or energy resistance because I'm not going to second-guess your intention with those.

That said, this looks as though it would function much better if it was a prestige class, Paladin ACF or, y'know, dragonrider. (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/classes/3rd-party-classes/super-genius-games/dragonrider)

I mean, you don't get your iconic class feature until sixth level?

Thank you for statting it out.

The reason you don't get the Dragon Companion until 6th level is that it would be overpowering at lower levels.
