Greetings playgrounders, and welcome to
The Ultimate Order of the Stick Book Tournament!
Here, you can vote for your favorite of the first eight books in a double-elimination tournament. Each week I will post a new matchup. Vote in this thread, not by PM. You get one vote per person. If your post contains more than the name or abbreviation of the book's title, I ask that you bold your vote. Votes may take the form either of the book's title, the abbreviation, or the number.

The Contestants
Dungeon Crawling Fools
No Cure for Paladin Blues
War and XP
Don't Split the Party
Blood Runs in the Family
On the Origins of the PCs
The Start of Darkness
Snips, Snails and Dragon Tales

Although BRitF has not been released, I think that we have seen enough of it from the online strips to include it in the running.

Last week, Start of Darkness energy drained Snips Snails and Dragon Tales until it became a wight.

I have the feeling that book 5 will win. But my vote goes to OtOoPCs:
It is a really good book - especially the Roy/Eugene relationship plays of nicely. The first contact with each other is also great. And it also is the one and only book I have a signed exemplar - which let take it a more special place in my collection.

Blood Runs in the Family, no contest. Although the arc in the Empire of Blood ran a bit long, it contained many, many good parts, and most of the material in and outside the pyramid - especially V's story and Durkon's transformation and Nale's death - was fantastic. We got major character arcs for all six members of the Order of the Stick - the only book so far where that's been the case - and some excellent new characters as well. And we got an intricately-drawn, non-crayon image of the Snarl.

We also got the rise of Gobbotopia and a much greater understanding of how dangerous Redcloak is.

I'm not quite sure if I prefer BRitF to DSTP, but those two are easily my favourites. This comic tends to get continually better.

And this round is belatedly closed. To no one's surprise, Blood Runs in the Family wins! The easy matches are over, though. The next round is up.
