This one isn't about odd class mixes that don't work, but rather, odd ones that work surprisingly well! I'd like to hear how you took, two, maybe three or more classes, and made them mesh together in fun and effective ways! I'll start with my own!
This one is in Pathfinder. I have a Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer, mixed with Archery Focus Ranger, using the Animal companion for his hunter bond. This provides him with some extra hits due to arrows if he runs out of spells, a nice claw attack and some natural armor if it comes to close range, and a person to draw aggro and keep the heat off him so it won't come to that easily. Add the Totem Guide archtype to the companion(who is a wolf) and you let them have eldritch claws, speech between them and the ability to fight ghosts, and you have a lovely mixture! Plus, if I ever decide to prestige, this mixes with the Arcane Archer class perfectly.
