Seemed oddly hard to find ones with moth wings to me as well...
Butterfly wings, dragonfly wings, bat wings, bird wings.. even bee wings, but it seems like there's an odd void with moth wings.

I'm looking for images that would suit a female dwarven barbarian/druid. Preferably bearded (or with sideburns), without metal armor (hide preferably).
It's mostly for a portrait-styled picture.

I've seen a picture that (IIRC) would fit. I think I've seen it here. It was a 3 steps images, with the same character in commoner's clothes, heroic armor, and epic armor, or something like that. IT was on a deviant-art, with the user saying that she draw the image imagining herself as a dwarf. The dwarf in the image had sideburns, and blonde/red hair, I think.

Any other image that you think would fit would be appreciated, of course.

(Taxes may come in a dozen hours, but I'm currently at work :p )

You'd think this would be easy enough, but oddly no. I'm looking for a portrait of a young human rogue. She's basically a teenager (call it around her sweet 16), grew up in the streets, did fairly well for herself as a cutpurse and a housebreaker without falling in with the wrong crowd. Perky, bubbly with a can-do attitude and optimistic outlook, she genuinely enjoys this straycat-thief life. She doesn't do killing or protection, but there's no lock or door in the city that can keep her out (and if she does encounter a problematic one, she'll definitely take it personally).

Physically, she is blonde (though I can work with any color that isn't black or dark brown, because my heart is pure and Photoshop is my friend) and ties her hair in a practical, shoulder-length-ish ponytail, which is the part I have the most trouble with. She wears practical leather armor with practical pouches, but to be honest I'd be happy with just a headshot. For flavour, think "Ellen Page, thief extraordinaire".

Can't post tax since at work but I'll try to contribute when I get home.

the first is a Female Dervish. She also does Parkour and is very stealthy. So clothes that allow a lot of freedom of movement. She wears a grey cloak with a hood and here weapons of choice are 2 scimitars, both are strapped to her right hip. brown hair and eyes, paler skin. Past that full creative license.

The second is a Humanoid Bengal Tiger, with modern military training with the use of heavy weapons. this includes heavy machine guns, hand held Gatling guns, rail guns, rocket launchers, and most explosives. sky blue eyes, and normal tiger patterns on the fur covering the body.Pretty much full creative license on this, as long it looks cool.

Let me know if i'm being to specific on either of these.

Okay, thread noob here, but one who's paid their tax. So is being a dreamboat a requirement for this thread? I was kind of curious if some people could stir up some images of average-to-ugly looking characters. Not hideously ugly, but bland an easy to dissolve into a crowd. I'm also a little curious of everyone's tastes in this regard. Piles of images can be pretty interesting without interesting pretties.

You'd think this would be easy enough, but oddly no. I'm looking for a portrait of a young human rogue. She's basically a teenager (call it around her sweet 16), grew up in the streets, did fairly well for herself as a cutpurse and a housebreaker without falling in with the wrong crowd. Perky, bubbly with a can-do attitude and optimistic outlook, she genuinely enjoys this straycat-thief life. She doesn't do killing or protection, but there's no lock or door in the city that can keep her out (and if she does encounter a problematic one, she'll definitely take it personally).

Physically, she is blonde (though I can work with any color that isn't black or dark brown, because my heart is pure and Photoshop is my friend) and ties her hair in a practical, shoulder-length-ish ponytail, which is the part I have the most trouble with. She wears practical leather armor with practical pouches, but to be honest I'd be happy with just a headshot. For flavour, think "Ellen Page, thief extraordinaire".

6. An insanely beautiful Nymph Monk Druid. Female.

2. yes from Palladium, the class is Psi-Tech from the Psi-Scape book.

3. Human, Late 20s, White and blue robes with hood. His symbol is a triangle with a spiral in the center, so the detail on the robes should reflect that. If i had to put him in a class it would be wizard, as he is always carrying books. He is basically the god of Civilization. does that help?

4. Half Elf, Fighter/ Paladin. Wields a great sword one handed in her right hand and a tower shield in her left. does not look nearly as strong as she is.

in all seriousness though, i'm not sure if these really match your criteria. i wasn't sure what you meant by "a pretty big guy," and i seem to have a startlingly low number of dark haired female elves in usable armour in my pinterest folder, so i had to improvise for a few. mostly on clothing, a couple oh hair. a few are humans with their ears hidden.

Some of those come pretty close, actually.

The guy used to be brawler. He is very buff, but not young. Closest match I could find were the male Barbarian from Diablo 3 and Admiral Proudmoore from Warcraft. Couldn't find any of them in anything close to civilian clothes, though (the character is now a inn keeper). Geralt from The Witcher series would be almost perfect if he wasn't so recognizable...

The dark-haired elf girl is a cleric of Calistria, goddess of Revenge, Lust and Trickery. She uses light armor that is designed to be functional and sexy.

1: A young human male cleric wielding a quarterstaff and shield. Armoured, but isn't much of a fighter. Follower of the goddess of stars and travel to maybe something thematic to that.

2: A dark skinned human male merchant/sorcerer. Well dressed and well kept short beard. Primarily uses electric magic.

The guy used to be brawler. He is very buff, but not young. Closest match I could find were the male Barbarian from Diablo 3 and Admiral Proudmoore from Warcraft. Couldn't find any of them in anything close to civilian clothes, though (the character is now a inn keeper). Geralt from The Witcher series would be almost perfect if he wasn't so recognizable...

As entertaining as this conspiracy theory is, I'm not aware of any evidence for it, especially since there are plenty of remaining contemporary depictions of ancient Egyptians with intact noses in both two and three dimensons, including some pictures in colour.

Hallo, this thread. I've heard there are folks here who could procure a certain type of goods, and I'm rather keen on acquiring said goods. :smallcool:

Specifically, I'm looking for any good art for:

1: Wood-elf Paladin, shield and warhammer. He's dark-skinned (Tree bark, not Drow) and green haired (leafish, y'know, like the PHB says. Though Animesque wouldn't be too far from acceptable in this campaign) though really, any nature-themed paladin would work (He's Oath of the Ancients)
2: A gnome in Half-plate, rapier+shield, with a violin and/or lute. (College of Valor bard) Really, any sort of armored Gnome Bard. (Male)
3: short darker-skinned human Soulknife/Soulbow. Or with a shield + lightsaberish sword

Thank you kindly, and if I had my tax here I'd gladly pay it. I might have some to swing by later though if I can find the one guy's DA page with the awesome Sci-fi art.

I dislike using pictures of popular characters because then everyone will just think of that character instead of my character when they'll see it and that would hurt the immersion. Besides, Headmistress Fiora's dress looks a bit too modern for my tastes (and for the classical fantasy setting). Thus I am in need of a picture of an attractive female duelist/swordswoman who also could pass for a teacher/professor/instructor (or alternatively the other way around).

i think these might work for you. i was mostly aiming for female dualist with an air of authority who isn't a soldier or princess, and dresses classily.

Actually, firearms are what started the rise of plate armour.
Eventually they got good enough to pierce it, but getting there took quite a while.

2. A mounted veteran, hard and stoic, weatherbeaten with an air of long travel about him. Ideally he'd have strong features and a dark beard, and I'd like there to be some ambiguity to him--shades of both grim warrior and high nobleman.

First of all thank you, I guess I was too vague with my request, but yes the character is male and while I guess I could use Cole, the setting we are playing is based on easter asia, so a more traditional martial artist would be better; I don't have many other visual details because I was hoping to get inspired by the image :smallredface:

Yes, the first one and last one are cool.

Two new requests that are kinda related:
1. An attractive human female butler for a fantasy game. Preferably in a black suit, with a professional, serious and elegant appearance and a caster-ish flair (or something that would hint at her having magic abilities).
2. An attractive maid for a fantasy game. Preferably in a maid suit with white frills and adornments (so basically a classical dress), but one that isn't an incredibly short miniskirt or a long conservative gown. For this one I'd need many pictures of different races, because the maid is a shapeshifter who likes to change up her appearance and style once in a while (she easily gets bored of the same look and her master enjoys the variety).

[Shudders]

* I couldn't find my camera in the run-up to the trip and ended up having to buy a cheap one after landing on which I couldn't find how to turn the stamp off.

Yeah, anything especially detailed and distinctly patterned (like fine stonework, as you mentioned) is tricky to photoshop in general. Personally, I tend to prefer the clone tool to the healing brush, as it tends to generate less blur and more control when detailed features are needed. Also because I suck less with it. Healing Brush is nice when you want to do something quickly or are dealing with a relatively monochrome/uniform area anyway, though.

A few very general requests, since you guys seem to be better at finding the good stuff than I am.
I have a few DnD 5e characters in mind, and I'm looking inspiration. Anything you get that generally fits the description would be great, I'll be building the character around the image that wows me.

1) A human necromancer, but not an obvious one. I imagine nondescript brown robes, generic magey type look, but very pale and gaunt like he spends most of the time in crypts and similar dark places. Major bonus points for a crow/raven familiar. Male preferred.

2) A human monk. Preferably Way of the Elements, but possibly Way of Shadows if the image isn't too over the top anime ninja looking. Asian preferred, male or female.

3) A female archery focused ranger, preferably Hunter instead of Beast Master. Light armor, practical would be better but I won't turn down eye-candy. Human, elf, or half-elf.

4) A grizzled war veteran human male cleric. He's been to war and seen things, done things, and now he's living his life as a healer so he doesn't leave the mortal world having done nothing but kill. This isn't so much a physical description as a generic concept, so gimme whatever works I guess. :smallbiggrin:

Yeah, anything especially detailed and distinctly patterned (like fine stonework, as you mentioned) is tricky to photoshop in general. Personally, I tend to prefer the clone tool to the healing brush, as it tends to generate less blur and more control when detailed features are needed. Also because I suck less with it. Healing Brush is nice when you want to do something quickly or are dealing with a relatively monochrome/uniform area anyway, though.

Oh, I forgot to mention that on top of using a tiny brush head I had to soften the edges considerably. Don't know if the clone tool can do that.

Two new requests that are kinda related:
1. An attractive human female butler for a fantasy game. Preferably in a black suit, with a professional, serious and elegant appearance and a caster-ish flair (or something that would hint at her having magic abilities).
2. An attractive maid for a fantasy game. I've been looking for a manly gentlemen picture for my Half-Orc monk. With emphasis on manly gentleman (Can be Human and not so much a 'Monk' in style). Closest I've found so far is Louis Armstrong and Dudley. Monocle a bonus, mustache a double bonus.

I have an orc in a top hat. I don't know if it's what your looking for, but the world can use more orcs in top hats so here it is.

In other news, my google-fu has failed me lately in searching for something specific. I usually don't request things in this thread (though I do lurk and save pictures I like), but I'd like to think my usual photoshop-tax keeps me ahead. :smallwink:


Anyway, what I'm looking for is a Knight (or heavily-armored humanoid, at any rate; european-style knight is what I'd expect, but other cultures are fine) using some sort of polearm and riding a large flightless bird. The full context if you're willing to try to help with the specifics is in the spoiler, but I expect I can photomanipulate or simply go without the rest of it if I have to.


The Saenzot (singular: Saenz) of Glazfell are elite cavalry who ride the Great Skarnakan Birds of Sympolemou. These terrifying mounts resemble Secretary Birds (http://photos.zoochat.com/large/p10808611-162844.jpg) roughly the size of an Ostrich, but they are even more dangerous than that implies: These birds dine heavily on Iron throughout their lives, and somehow produce bladed feathers as sharp and tough as any knife. While Skarnakan cannot fly due to their natural armor and armament, they are capable of speeds comparable to that of an armored horse and are adept at seriously injuring both animals and humans with well-placed kicks and sharp wing-strikes.


If it helps, the Skarnak birds strongly resemble Skarmory (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Skarmory_(Pok%C3%A9mon)), of Pokemon fame, in terms of coloration and capabilities.
