So I'm looking to make an Equiceph from Miniatures Handbook in a PC.

Would I be right in thinking that the correct stats to use would be as follows...

4 HD Monstrous Humanoid (full BAB!),
+2 LA, Large, +8 str, +2 con, +2 wis, +2 cha,
+5 NA, dark vision,
lowlight,
base speed 40,
great axe proficiency,
heavy armour proficiency,
Endurance feat bonus,
Favoured class Ranger

And, assuming standard array for its ability scores, that looks about right.

So it's got the equine part but not the cephalopod? That's disappointing.

Thank you for bringing that up.

So the name is a portmanteau of equine and cephal. If we approach it as that, then their name means Horse Head. That would explain why they are called that, certainly.
