Unbinding or Freedom?

I'm trying to choose between Freedom or Unbinding. Which spell do you think is better? The wording on the Unbinding description could be clearer, it says nothing of its effects on an Imprisonment spell and it makes no mention of how it affects any of the effects listed in the Freedom spell description.

The difference is that Unbinding has an area effect while Freedom is one creature at close range. Freedom explicitly works on imprisonment while unbinding sort of can't since the spell doesn't say HOW FAR beneath the earth it holds the individual; it's likely they'd be outside of the spell's range. Not only that, it also doesn't do anything to maze. I believe that to be a thing.

So the question is do you need to free one thing or everything within 180'?
