I thought of this as a wonder, not a curse - his body invigorated and fortified by the mighty element, given a strength and enduringness almost more than human."

Uncle Tungsten is a Mul Earthstrength Warden/Gladiator Champion/Ceaseless Guardian. Like most inescapable defenders, like the Black Hole and the Inescapable Fisherman, he doesn't move much compared to everything around him, but once enemies are around him, allies generally cannot escape.

His primary defensive method is his ability to Second Wind as an Immediate Interrupt whenever an enemy attacks him. This launches his defenses to a silly-high level of defenses, stopping any attacks towards him.

His second defensive method, is what I call "Erosion". Enemies cannot shift away from him, they get knocked prone, dazed, and pushed 2 squares before being sucked back into a square adjacent to him. Enemies cannot retrive the Battle Standard of the Hungry Blade that pulls them adjacent to him, because he pushes them 2, knocks them prone and dazes them. Enemies can try to move him, but they'll have to go through his defenses, and even if they do, they're (you guessed it) pushed, knocked prone, and dazed.

With 3 second winds as an immediate interrupt, enemies will have to try as hard as they can to actually damage him. Enemies cannot damage his allies since they simply cannot get to them.

When he second winds (which is up to 4 times an encounter, but mainly 3 times), as an Immediate Interrupt, his defenses reach 60/56/54/55. Even on his lowest defense, enemies have to crit to hit. And if they do, they've got to go through his 65 THP and resist 5 all. If there's a nasty condition on that attack, he'll try to save against it with his Font of Life before it even has the chance to do anything.
