I'm trying to find a template for my evil warforged cleric. Currently I'm using fiendish, but am considering swapping it out for something else.
My only limitations(as i know that constructs are boned for templates already):

Must remain construct
Must be non-good
Must be LA+2 or less.
No Dragon please. If its in a dragon compendium that's fine, as I can usually manage to find those somewhere, but nothing straight from the magazines.

So playground, is this feasible? Or am I stuck with fiendish/half fiendish 2(i never got that. is it a template, or is it a class? On second thought, I'm not gonna use it. Changes the type and all.)

The main reason I want to avoid losing construct is because its a cleric of the Lord of Blades and I don't see him taking too kindly to non-warforged.

Phrenic (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/monsters/phrenicCreature.htm)is a great LA+2 template.

Draconic from Races of the Dragon/Draconomicon is +1 and only would add the dragonblood subtype, so you'd get to be a dragon-themed magic robot.

Divine Minion (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mb/20050209a) (LA+1 or LA+2) + Mineral Warrior (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20031003e) (LA+1) would make you a transformer made out of living rock. Though you'd need an animal or animals selected for the Lord of Blades. Or maybe a size of animated object? A bit too dependent on the DM doing a bit of work or OKing you doing the legwork on adapting Divine Minion to LoB. &, yeah, you'd be an outsider but you'd be an outsider warforged made out of living stone.

Taking the first two levels of Ghost (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20040117a) progression and making it into an LA+2 template wouldn't be too shabby.

Thanks for the help but you missed something on both divine minion and mineral warrior. DM has a requirement of humanoid, while MW has a requirement of non-construct.

Ah, right, the hound archon example tripped me up, sorry. You'll note that Divine Minion changes type to Outsider though, which is why I was specifically mentioning combining it with Mineral Warrior.

Point is that the particular combo in question violates my first requirement. There are plenty of templates that can be applied to "any corporeal creature" that I could use, but I'm using a theme here. If the solution is "ignore this particular limitation" then why have it in the first place? And considering that it specifies that a Living Construct(AKA Warforged) is a subtype of Construct, that means that any deviate from Construct would make it no longer a Living Construct, thus ruining the theme. Unless someone can show me a rule where it states that a subtype isn't lost if the defining type is removed.

Not sure where folk keep getting the idea that Greater Humanoid Essence only works on Living Constructs from. It's target line explicitly targets any Constryct and the text referring to Living Construct type says "if" the target is a living construct. Color me confused.

In any case here's a list of templates (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?281882-3-5-Master-Template-List-%28sorted%29) sorted by what type they apply to and what type they turn you into. Browse to your heart's content. Just beware the template stacking as it is the path to ultimate power. (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=4540.0)

(Hint: it's not instant or even permanent)
One cast of GHE, then use the Mineralize Warrior
When the GHE expired, you will get Mineralized Construct

Can the Half-Golem template apply?.

The Dragonborn template from Races of the Dragon is great for warforged. You're still a construct [Living Construct], so you keep most of your immunities and benefits from being a warforged. You lose your fortification and composite plating, but you still qualify for any of the X body feats by virtue of still being considered a warforged.

Iron-plated, fire-breathing robot. Just saiyan.

One of my most favorite uses for this trick is using it with the Create Crawling Claw spell (MC:MoF). Even better with the errata since then you get a swarm that burrows.
