Did anyone else realize that that isn't how you spell TIVO?

Just asking.

It's called "parodying".

Not to mention "Not being sued for using a copyrighted name without permission".

Unless the name is copyrighted, you don't have to parody it. If it is copyrighted, you do have to parody it.

2 things:

1. It's a parody.
2. OMG! YOU SPOKE REGULARLY!

Of course I realized. But remember-LAWYERS!!

If it was Tivo instead of TeeVo, the lawyers would come and drag it away becuase Tivo is copyrighted.

The Teevo thing is great though. I liked seeing Sir Francois again! Or at least camoed in the comic.

But the lawyers dragged Zz'dtri away, and he didn't have the expected name. He was just the renegade Drow with two scimitars. And he even had some abilities Salvatore's pretty-boy didn't. IIRC, Salvatore's creation was never a high-level wizard.

TiVo is a DVR brand that is popular in the US. It's practically synonymous with the product.

TiVo is a DVR brand that is popular in the US. It's practically synonymous with the product.

DVR = Digital Video Recorder: Think a VHS on steroids.

It allows you to record TV shows digitally onto a hard drive and fast forward and rewind through them.

It also allows you to program it intelligently by specifying which shows you want to watch. For instance, my Tivo is set up to record all the new episodes of House and Battlestar Galactica. It also allows you to both record one show and watch another simultaneously.

For hilarity's sake, it also records shows that you didn't specify but it thinks you'd like (which is why there are many references to that in the comic)

It's a fine piece of equipment and has changed my viewing habits by quite a bit, without having to deal with the hassle of messing with tapes.

But it has the ability to have you tell it not to record it's suggestions to save disk space. We still run out anyway.

FERAL TEEVO FTW.

Now that you mention it, but not beforehand!

I found it humorous that the Teevo unit kept saying "Teevo!"

Actually, Tivo's suggestions do not take your disk space. Teevo appears to not need "disk" space, probably not a problem, either.

Like the man said,

"I only watched 'Will and Grace' one time, one day. Wish I hadn't cause TiVo now thinks I'm gay."

I wish I had it, but that little extra "feature" doesn't sound too hot.
