I will research a mid level (3, 4 or 5) fire based arcane spell. All sources are available, any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you mean by research. Do you mean homebrewing a custom spell, or picking a spell off a list?

In any case, what's the character? What do you want to do with this spell?
