Iames, Aerin, and Verdandi's Wedding [Event]

[Lord Iames Osari]

The wedding is being held in the courtyard around the portal gazebo. Some of the guests have already arrived, including Aerin's and Iames's parents, their old teachers, and their school friends.

The goddess Maia appears and looks around the courtyard, smiling at everyone.

Vala then appears next to her (ran out of time for an avi; imagine Miko with silver eyes) and looks around as well.

Lillah and Kyrian appear in the gazebo, both in formal wear and smiling.

Aesa appears and sits in the back, and Svala appears soon after and joins her.

Gwen, Rain, and Aramir all walk in and sit down in a good spot.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin comes down from the tower. She sees her parents. Mom, Dad, it's so good to see you... She wraps them both in a hug.

It's good to see you too, Aerin, her mother answers, hugging her back before stepping away. She's smiling happily.

And this is Verdandi? Aerin's father asks when Vera arrives. He looks happy as well.

[McBish]

Lillah and Kyrian take their seats.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi stands beside Aerin, smiling shyly. She nods to Aerin's father.

[Lord Iames Osari]

He's a very tall man with short brown hair and green eyes. I'm Kenji Hitomi, and this is my wife, Mariko. He smiles at her and offers his hand. It's good to meet you at last, Verdandi.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak and Tehanu come through the portal from the Temple of Iames.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi takes his hand gently and shakes it. Good to meet you as well.

Tehanu looks around with a neutral expression on her face.

Lyrak guides her to a pair of chairs.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Kenji looks around. So, how is Iames doing? Where is he?

Tehanu follows his lead and sits down where he indicates.

[wxdruid]

Gwen watches everything around her, while Rain and Aramir lie down on the ground together.

[AmberVael]

He was fine, last I saw him. But I don't know where he is. Verdandi looks around as well.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames appears nearby. He looks around and sees his parents, and Kenji and Mariko. He hesitates, trying to decide which group to go over to. His parents approach him.

[Lord Iames Osari]

There he is... Kenji goes over to Iames, Mariko and Aerin following. It's been a while, Iames.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aramoro, an elf, goes over to Gwen. Hello. You must be from Town. I'm Aramoro, an old friend of Iames's. He offers her his hand.

Iames smiles at Kenji. It has indeed, Sensei. You and Instructor Mariko are doing well?

Verdandi walks along beside Aerin, while Aesa and Svala speak in low, soft, urgent voices.

Gwen smiles and stands, she politely takes his hand, Yes, I'm from Town. I'm Gwen, she points to Rain and Aramir, The two cats are Rain and Aramir.

[Lord Iames Osari]

We are, thank you. Mariko answers, linking her arm through her husband's.

Aerin takes Iames's arm.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi moves around to Iames's other side and takes his other arm, smiling happily.

[Lord Iames Osari]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Gwen. How did you come to know Iames?

A half-elf woman in early middle age, accompanied by a younger-looking elf man, joins Iames and the cluster of people around him. Iames! Are you going to introduce us to this charming lady or not? She looks pointedly at Vera.

Oh, I'm sorry. Vera, this is my adoptive mother and father, Calli and Kenin Osari. Mom, Dad, this is Verdandi, my other fiance.

Kenin shakes his head and smiles. I've lived among humans for a long time; you'd think I'd be used to how fast they grow up by now. But it still surprises me when I think about the day Cali and I took you in. It still seems like just yesterday.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi's smile is rather fixed as Kenin talks about aging. She briefly has a memory of watching her mother cut the threads from the tapestry of fate while Urd wove in the new strands.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak looks around, squeezing Tehanu's hand.

Gwen tries to remember, I think I met him when he became the police chief. He's been in Town for quite a while now.

[wxdruid]

Tehanu squeezes his hand back and privately wonders how long this will take.

[Lord Iames Osari]

It seems to me like the time I spent growing up was a lifetime ago, Iames says.

Aramoro raises his eyebrows. Police Chief? ... Okay, I can see that, a little bit... He's cut off.

Please excuse me, everyone, Maia says over the quiet talking. Are the brides and groom ready?

[McBish]

Kyrian whispers into Lillah's ear describing what everything looks like.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin looks at Iames and Vera, her parents going and taking their seats.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi snaps her attention towards Maia, blushing very slightly. In the instant that she turns her attention to the goddess, a valkyrie snaps out of the sky as quick as a bolt of lightning, but with absolutely no sound declaring her presence. She is dressed in full battle regalia, though as she lands she takes off her helm and sits in the back, laying her spear and shield on the ground.

Gwen chuckles, Yes, although I think they want to get started. We can talk later if you want.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aramoro nods and sits down nest to Gwen.

Calli and Kenin take their seats.

Iames's eyes snap to the valkyrie. He watches her land and sit down, then returns his attention to the wedding. He remembers something, an his eyes glow briefly; then he answers in his physical voice, I believe we are.

Gwen sits back down and quickly scratches behind Rain's ears.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi nods a little in agreement with Iames.

Aesa keeps her eyes fixed on Maia, ignoring the presence of the new valkyrie so tensely that it is obvious that she is very aware of the newcomer's presence. Svala places a hand on Aesa's shoulder and gives her a warning look.

Lillah and Kyrian fall quiet.

Finally, as Tehanu takes a quick look around.

Aerin nods to indicate her readiness as well.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames walks over to Maia and stands in front of her.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin walks beside Iames, taking her arm from his when she reaches Maia.

Gwen smiles as everyone takes their places.

Rain and Aramir cuddle closer and start to purr.

Verdandi follows Aerin's lead, watching her out of the corner of her eye without appearing to do so.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Maia smiles at them; Vala stands a little beside her and to one side.

In My name, I bid you all welcome. We are gathered here today to celebrate and bear witness to the union of Iames Osari, Aerin Hitomi, and Verdandi Skuldsdottir.

Should there be anyone who has cause why these three should not be united in marriage, they must speak now or forever hold their peace.

Lillah and Kyrian sit silently watching and listening to the ceremony.

Lyrak listens, watches, and waits.

Tehanu watches Lyrak.

Aesa, Svala, and the new valkyrie remain silent.

Seeing that nobody has any objections, Maia continues. Iames Osari, do you take Aerin Hitomi and Verdandi Skuldsdottir as your wives?

Maia nods and turns to Aerin. Aerin Hitomi, do you take Iames Osari and Verdandi Skuldsdottir as your husband and your wife?

Maia smiles and turns to Vera. Verdandi Skuldsdottir, do you take Iames Osari and Aerin Hitomi as your husband and your wife?

...I do. Verdandi's voice is a little shaky.

Vala steps forward. In My name, I have witnessed the swearing of the Oaths, and on the behalf of the Enforcers of Oaths, I find them proper, sincere, and binding.

[Lord Iames Osari]

In My name, as your Oaths are proper, binding, and sincere, I bless you. Have you the rings?

Iames nods, pulling a ring box from his sash and opening it. Inside is the ring that he and Vera bought for Aerin. We do.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin takes out her ring box and opens it, revealing the ring that she and Iames got for Vera. We do, she says with Iames.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi fumbles very slightly with the last ring box, glad she hadn't accidently snapped it in half. She opens the box, showing the ring she and Aerin got for Iames. We do.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak watches, smiling.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Then your Oaths are bound to your rings forever. As your Oaths shall be unbroken or broken, so shall your rings be unbroken or broken. But while you may put on and take off your rings, beware that you cannot put on and take off your Oaths in like manner. You may assume your rings and Oaths.

Aerin hands the ring for Vera to Iames.

Verdandi hands Iames's ring to Aerin.

Tehanu keeps her frown to herself and turns to watch Iames, Vera and Aerin with a neutral look on her face.

Iames takes the ring and Vera's left hand and slips the ring onto her third finger, smiling at her.

He then hands her the ring for Aerin.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin takes Iames's ring and left hand and puts the ring on his ring finger.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi takes Aerin's ring and places it on her finger.

Lillah and Kyrian smile while watching the ceremony.

As your rings and Oaths have been assumed, you are now wed. In My name, I bless this union, that you might be healthy and exultant, wise in your words and actions, joyous in your passions, generous of spirit, and tender in your affections.

Iames kisses Aerin passionately, then turns to Vera and kisses her with equal ardor.

Aerin returns Iames's kiss, then smiles at Vera.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi kisses Iames back then turns towards Aerin.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin steps forward and kisses Vera softly on the mouth.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi kisses her back, then steps away after a moment, smiling a little.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin smiles back.

Gwen smiles as Rain and Aramir purr. Gwen tucks her bare feet underneath Rain.

Lyrak starts clapping.

[McBish]

Lillah and Kyrian start clapping.

Tehanu turns to look at Lyrak and struggles to suppress her frown and irritation.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames takes Aerin's and Vera's hands and smiles at both of them, then turns to look across the courtyard at everyone. Thank you all for coming, he says. The reception will be at the SMBR, so feel free to head over there when you're ready.

Gwen politely claps and smiles at the newly wedded trio.

[McBish]

Lillah and Kyrian go up to the three. Congratulations. I hope you three are as happy as we are. We'll see you at the reception.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak looks over at Tehanu and frowns slightly. You want to go?

[Lord Iames Osari]

Thank you both, Aerin says to Kyrian and Lillah.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi smiles at Lillah and Kyrian. Thank you.

Aesa vanishes, whispering something to Svala, who teleports off to the SMBR soon after.

[wxdruid]

Tehanu politely replies, "I will go where you wish to go," my Lord.

[McBish]

With a smile they disapear.

[wxdruid]

Gwen stands and walks over to Iames, Vera and Aerin, Congratulations.

[Lord Iames Osari]

I think I'd enjoy a dance or two with you before we go home, Lyrak smiles at her.

[AmberVael]

The valkyrie in the back stands and walks towards the three, a very small smile on her face. Her shield and spear seem to have vanishes, but her helm in under one arm. She waits behind the others talking to the trio, her slightly shorter height hiding her behind them.

Verdandi smiles at Gwen. Thank you, mayor Gwen.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Thank you, Gwen.

[wxdruid]

Tehanu gives in as he smiles, she smiles back, "Yes, Lover."

[Lord Iames Osari]

We're glad you could come, Aerin tells Gwen.

[wxdruid]

Gwen smiles, I'll be at the SMBR. I wish you three the best. She turns and leaves. Rain and Aramir follow her.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Lyrak takes her hand and teleports them to the SMBR.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Vala has disappeared, but Maia is lingering behind. She seems a tiny bit disappointed when she sees Lyrak and Tehanu teleport out, but she waits patiently.

The valkyrie, being the last one there, finally steps up to the three. Congratulations. Verdandi snaps away from watching Gwen leave, and her eyes widen a little.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames looks at the valkyrie. Thank you. You are...?

[AmberVael]

The valkyrie is slightly shorter than Verdandi, and has red hair. She is not overly beautiful, but is fairly good looking. Her eyes are perhaps her most intriguing feature; they are a sky blue color that match Verdandi's perfectly. Aren't you going to introduce me, Verdandi? Verdandi nods and then looks to Iames and Aerin. Iames, Aerin... this is my mother, Skuld.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames's eyes flash yellow for an instant, then turn green and stay there. Hello, Skuld. Verdandi has told us some things about you, but we weren't expecting you. At least, I wasn't.

[AmberVael]

Perhaps there is a lesson to be taken from that. Skuld holds out her hand. A pleasure to meet you at last, Iames. Verdandi smiles very nervously.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin notes the flash and looks from Iames to Skuld worriedly.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Iames takes Skuld's hand and shakes it. Likewise.

[AmberVael]

Skuld inclines her head slightly then turns to Aerin. And you as well, Aerin. She holds her hand again.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin shakes Skulds hand. It's good to meet you, Skuld. Aerin smiles politely, Vera's nervousness and Iames's reaction making her not quite sure how to react.

[AmberVael]

Skuld inclines her head again, then withdraws her hand. I am afraid I cannot stay for the reception- there is work to do, as always. However, I have brought a gift for the three of you. She holds out her hand palm up, and a stack of three, soft gray metal bracelets appear. Verdandi looks at them curiously.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Thank you. I've never seen anything quite like these before. What are they?

[AmberVael]

They are of my own making. Wearing one will link your fate to the other wearers. Skuld raises a finger. Not like the disastrous link between Aesa and Verdandi, mind you, merely an entertwining that almost promises that no matter where you are, or what has happened, you will be together with the other wearers by the end of the day.

[Lord Iames Osari]

Aerin smiles and holds out her hands to accept them. Thank you very much. That sounds perfect.

[AmberVael]

Skuld hands them to Aerin and then gives a very small grin. Oh yes, and they fit together like a puzzle as well. Have fun with that. The bracelets are indeed interlocked and somehow connected together like the people who are meant to wear them. Farewell, and a fair marriage to you. Verdandi waves, but before she is even finished Skul is gone, having vanished without a trace.

Aerin examines the bracelets, seeing how they fit together and trying to figure out how they're supposed to come apart.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi joins Aerin in looking over the bracelets.

Maia puts a hand on Verdandi's shoulder. Pardon me for intruding, but I would like to offer you something.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi starts and then turns around with a smile.

[Lord Iames Osari]

In addition to being the goddess of marriage, I am also the goddess of chilbirth and fertility. I can return what was taken from you, if you want it.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi looks down as she thinks about it, not entirely sure what to say.

[Lord Iames Osari]

This is obviously a very significant decision, so you do not need to give me an answer now, but I thought I would extend the offer. Maia smiles at her kindly.

[AmberVael]

Verdandi smiles back at her. Thank you. I'll think about it.

[Lord Iames Osari]

You are welcome. When you have made your decision, you can address me directly by saying my name, or you can relay it to me through Iames. Congratulations, and until we meet again... Maia steps back

Verdandi goes over and takes Iames's arm.

Aerin takes Iames's other arm.

I take it you're ready to go to the reception?

Verdandi nods and smiles up at Iames. Finally.
