I'm wondering if anyone has a list of prestige classes that aren't 10 levels long, or would help generate a list of prestige classes that aren't 10 levels long?

Abjurant Champion - 5 levels
Exotic Weapon Master - 3 levels
Warshaper - 5 levels
Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil - 7 levels
Ruathar - 3 levels
All the Racial Paragon Classes - 3 levels

I know there are probably a lot of others, but the top of my head seems a little short.

Tough question. This is the list of all PrC's: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/lists/prc So getting a list of ones with less that 10 levels would take a while unless someone has that info in a database somewhere.

Fastest method would be to start here: http://dndtools.eu/classes/ and check each class in turn.

There are a few that go 13 levels.

This document (http://dnd.freeminded.org/tables/DnD3.5Index-Classes-Prestige.pdf) is a massive (90-page) list of PrCs, though a bunch of pages are other info. It includes how many levels each class has. I can't go through it all myself, but you can check it yourself if you have the time.

EDIT:
This thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?226460-3-X-List-of-PrCs-with-quot-nonstandard-quot-levels) lists PrCs with a "nonstandard" number of levels (i.e. not 5 or 10). There are a lot of PrCs with five levels, so if you want those, you'll need to put in quite a bit of effort.

5 is almost as standard as 10-- Even the DMG has a couple of them.

A book with no classes under it means "This class has prestige classes, but they're all 10th level." Books that aren't listed (the PHB, for instance) don't have PrCs in them. I tried to use the most recent version of every PrC, so if a class first appeared in a 3.0 book but was later updated to 3.5, I listed it under the 3.5 book it appears in.

Aw, thanks. I'm happy I could help!

Also, I realized that Wikipedia's book list, which I was using, is inexplicably missing most Eberron and Forgotten Realms books. So I'll be hunting those down and editing for a bit.

I'm honestly confused; are you going to the wiki list and just remembering with incredible accuracy which prestige classes have not 10 levels, or are you flipping to each book to check? Both are awesome; one is brilliant and the other is generously dilligent.

I was mostly using Wikipedia's list (though Eberron Campaign Setting made it on in the first round because it happened to be on my desk last night) and then using dndtools to check how long classes are. If that site doesn't have info on a class, I go hunt it up in a physical book.

Now I'm using non-Wikipedia lists to make sure I got everything. Unfortunately, I don't really use Eberron or FR in real life, so my collection of books specific to those settings is lacking--I've got the main ones, but not many random regional books or whatever. That means that if dndtools doesn't have the info I need, I have to trust the internet at large to tell me how many levels something has, which is probably gonna lead to more mistakes this go-round.

So more diligent than brilliant, I'm afraid. :smalltongue: Even in the books I'm very familiar with, some of these PrCs slipped my mind until I started compiling this list. F'rinstance, Complete Arcane was literally the first non-core 3.5 book I ever bought, and I swear I've never heard of the Argent Savant. I mean, I went and looked, and it's definitely in there, but I never noticed it.

Racial Paragon classes are not technically prestige classes. Rather, they are a new type of class. Unlike prestige classes, they can be taken by a starting character at level 1, and they have no prerequisites (other than being a member of the correct race).
