Joining a PF game where material from D&D and PF and any setting for either game will be allowed on a case-by-case basis. I'm playing a Cryptic and am wondering if anywhere in any D&D or PF setting there's a god of patterns. Even if it's 2nd ed or earlier.

in terms of Arts/craft or Illusion? ... Patterns in D&D terminology can mean several things that doesn't directly have any relationship with each other

He's playing a Cryptic (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/psionics-unleashed/classes/cryptic), so no illusions or crafting. They're psionicists who understand the fabric of the universe, manipulating its 'patterns' to achieve their own ends.

Deities like Boccob and Vecna (3.5e) or Ioiri and Nethys (Pathfinder) seem appropriate. Boccob and Ioiri are the wholesome ones, while Vecna and Nethys are slightly Mad From the Revelation.

So you've researched the Detect Waldo cantrip

On target:
Ptah would seem an obvious choice — Egyptian pantheon, LN who can be found in (D&D p152) or (Sand p47)

Any knowledge, secrets or thieving deity would work. From the Golarion pantheon I'd probably go with Norgorber.

Pharasma does prophecy and fate which isn't an impossible stretch. Sivanah's portfolio of illusions and mystery might also fit.

Edit: The Draconic Prophecy in Eberron is all about patterns and prophecy. A supernatural force rather than a god but definitely something I could see a Cryptic being devoted to.

Planescape has The Cadence, which isn't really a god, but its the term used for the underlying flow of the multiverse that makes things happen at the right place and right time.

I really like the idea of worshiping The Cadence, since it's very fitting with the fluff surrounding my character's backstory. She's a white-furred Kitsune wasn't an Oracle, but people thought she would be. Was raised to be a religious leader then kicked out when her oracle powers didn't awaken. She "sees the patterns that underlay the universe" every time she closes her eyes, which is where she learned to use her cryptic powers. She's a NG Cryptic who basically uses her mastery over the pattern to deceive and defeat evil doers, since in her eyes acts of evil violate the pattern.
