Avatar Theme Week Central 4

Hello everyone! After hearing about Avatar Theme Weeks, then rebooting them with the reanimation, I decided to make the next Avatar Theme Week Central thread. From what I've gathered, we each can nominate a theme for the week, then after a short period of nominations, we have a vote, then the highest count vote becomes the week.

This thread will be for suggesting new theme ideas and discussing old ones. To request, discuss, or show off avatars, consult the individual threads for each theme.

The process for choosing a new week is currently as follows:

1. Nomination phase: People nominate new weeks by suggesting their Theme Week Idea in bold.
2. Voting phase: All of the nominated weeks are listed and each person can vote for their top three choices in bold red.
3. Yay! We Won! phase: Once a week is chosen, one of the supporters for that week should make a separate thread for the theme week in question and then link it in this thread so I can add it to the archives above.

It was intentionally left open to interpretation. The most obvious answer is our own faces and headshots, which, yes, was the original intention, but i realized before even hitting submit that it could really be understood as anyone's face, or even any definition of the word and chose to leave it vague.

I can see us doing a continuous freeform roleplay where the world warps every theme week and our characters trying to cope.


Wow, I didn't think there would be so much support.

So, how would it go?
Would there be a default world that screws up for a week every month or so, or would the theme continue between weeks? Is it an abrupt change or a gradual one? Would there be a main plot, or would we create a plot through our interactions?

@Rain Dragon: I'm fairly certain roleplaying your actual avatar would be optional. Not many people actually keep a consistent character between their various avatars anyways.

I think we have a few choices for a RP thread. We could do it in the week thread, starting with the week, ending with the next week. Or, we could have our own thread in FFRP (Which I would happily create). Whether we want an ooc thread is up for discussion. I think it may be angood idea.

a castle would be pretty cool, but i like the idea of a city/town of us

We could have the world just dump us in whatever setting it feels appropriate, like we could be in a fairy forest for fey week, and it tosses us into the middle of an airship battle as soon as it ticks midnight on Steampunk Week.

Only two people said anything about what day it should be - me with "in October" and Strategos with 22/9 to 28/9. So, conclusion: the theme week will be the 22nd to the 28th of this month. Or it could be the 29th to the 5th. If it's the week of the 22nd, that means we'll only have one week to make the avatars, which some people can do and other people...will have to hope someone else has time to make avatars then. I suppose we can figure this out before the week itself starts.

I don't know if it is tradition or not (as I live under a rock, I suppose) but dressing one's avatar up as another's avatar interests me.

It's a really old tradition dating back to 2009. It was fun, we had a thread up where people would put up their regular avatars for reference and then choose to dress up as each other. I dressed up as Lord Magtok one year, as Wolfbane another year, and as KrisonaStick yet another year.
