Stone Body and Speaking

Can I speak while under the effects of Stone Body from SpC p.207. It says I have no respiration. Does that mean I can't speak or does the magic that makes me stone still allow me to speak? If I can't speak it seems like a big omission to not put that in the spell description.

If it prevented the use of verbal components that would be a pretty big deal and the sort of thing I'd expect to be specifically laid out by a spell. I'm not sure why the spell says "respiration" rather than "does not need to breath", but "respeation" has multiple definitions only one of which would preclude speach.
