I recently had the idea of playing a claw/claw/bite race with one level of crusader and just fluffling it as a troll. He'd only be able to use crusader healing selfishly, but would be able to bloodlet, punch himself in the face, punch walls, what have you for out of combat healing which my group has generally ruled against. U've had some difficulty finding a claw/claw/bite race I want to play though.

I then refined the idea to playing a Crusader 1/Synthesist Summoner X. Rather than handwaving the nature of the character, I plan to play them as a child who was in a caravan that was destroyed by trolls and he manifested his abilities by creating a troll skin and he now believes himself to be a young troll. If he's ever confronted with evidence that he isn't a troll (like getting hit with dismissal) he probably won't be able to handle it and may attack himself until he loses consciouness and resummon his eidolon before opening his eyes when he wakes up.

The one problem I have is that summoner's Eidolon's go away when they sleep. Do I have options other than elf or an Elf that brings something to the table for a Synthesist Summoner? Does Elf trans count as not unconcious for the purposes of keeping an Eidolon up? Constructs aren't really an option since I want the whole traumatized child backstoy. Do half-elves trance? I know half-elves have a favored class ability that puts them on par with human Summoners.

What is it, specifically, that you want? The claw/claw/bite? Particular abilities? I'm not clear on what you're asking.

Warforged, get one level of the Half-Fiend template class (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20031010a) and the feat Jaws of Death from Races of Eberron to gain your claw/claw/bite routine. You never have to finish those template classes (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20030824a), and Half-Fiend can be applied to any living, corporeal creature with 4+ Int, which a Warforged definitely is. That one template class level is counted as a point of level adjustment, so you can buy it off (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingLevelAdjustments.htm) and eventually catch back up, replacing it with an actual class level.

Since most martial strikes take a standard action to deliver, excluding the option of a full attack, you can use your natural slam attack to deliver those which adds x1.5 Str to damage. You could actually just skip the Half-Fiend level and make a Warforged Crusader, stick to your slam attack and carry a shield.

You can always grab the Half-Construct (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/other-rules/creating-new-races#subtype-half-construct) subtype.

Crusader dip is quite good for a multiattacker, since with Martial Spirit (you're talking about 3.P setup with ToB, I presume) you'll get healing up to 6hp/round at low levels.

As RAW there's no need for a Summoner to sleep to regain spells (which is not the case for say, a Wizard), you're set.

I'm partial to the Half-Minotaur WE Desert Kobold. That can get you claw/claw/bite/gore/tail.

That could work, I'd need to further refine the backstory, I don't quite understand the RP system. How much RP is acceptable on a "normal" race.
