Pathfinder Class Skill Clarification

I am pretty sure Iknow the answer to this but I like to double check when I cant find actual text to support my thoughts lol.

Is the plus three bonus from putting ranks in a class skill counted as skill ranks? For example, if a prestige class asks for five ranks in knowledge religion, and you put two points in it and its a class skill sould you qualify? I wouldn't think so, but I am not sure.

Nope! The only ranks are the ones you put in yourself. A bonus is a bonus.
Similarly, a masterwork tool does not give you +2 ranks - it gives you a +2 bonus.

It's an untyped bonus, not ranks. If something in PF requires 5 ranks in skill X, that generally means you need to be character level 5 to get it, similar to (X-3 ranks) in 3.5.
