What methods are there to attract Symbiotes (found in the Fiend Folio and Eberron) as a Binder? The Binder can heal the stat damage they cause, and can stack a ton of them on to gain abilities but they don't have any easy ways to attract them to themselves.

The only rules for attracting symbiotes are in the Impure Prince prestige class and it is a class feature, if you aren't one you need to either find them (probably some dungeoneering checks) or buy them at the black market (and IIRC only the eberron ones have price)

You could also just wander around the areas they inhabit until you find one - IIRC they're on some random encounter tables somewhere.
That's very DM-dependant, though.

Go for Fiendish or Celestial templated symbionts: cast planar binding, lesser

You'd need half-fiend or half-celestial, actually. Celestial and fiendish don't make you an outsider.

well, you could planar bind the fiendish symbionts like the Fiendish Familiar... they are outsiders(extraplanar)

EDIT: actually the fiendish and celestial templates work just fine because the targets don't need to be outsiders, just extraplanar. The Dark template would work as well.

That's gate. Planar binding and its allies only call outsiders and elementals.

the Fiendish/celestial versions would be preferable to Half Fiend/Half Celestial because they would have lower Ego scores

nowhere in the spell description does it say that, it does however state that when calling something of an elemental or aligned subtype that the spell is Evil or Fire or Law or whatever.

EDIT: But there it is in the target line, outsider or elemental... still, the Fiendish Symbiotes from the fiend folio(all three of them) are still game.
