View Full Version : You MUST multiclass!

So, because I was bored, I wondered if anyone could come up with an effective/interesting build that does not take more than a single level in any class. Prestige classes are still allowed.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone can come up with!

(And there are no multiclass penalties. That'd just be evil :smallwink:)

Multiclass penalties wouldn't apply since they're all pretty close
Firstly one assumes fractional saves and BAB

Illumian no second level of anything... Athasian Human then, factotum 1 (able learner), rogue 1, binder 1 (practiced binder), thug fighter 1...

With fractional BAB from UA, Rogue 1/ Spellthief 1/ Sneak Attack Thug Fighter 1/ Psychic Rogue 1/ Ninja 1/ Assassin 1/ Psychic Assassin 1 etc., which basically gets +1d6 sneak attack per character level.

Before it was ruined by an official ruling that Bloodline levels don't benefit the Animal Companion class feature, since it's a level-threshold and not a per-class-level ability, you stack dips in tons of animal companion classes with a bunch of bloodline levels to have an epic animal companion at ~5th level, depending on the number of bloodlines. For an all-dips build, assuming each minor bloodline counts its bloodline levels separately, you can take all 35 minor bloodlines and spend 35k xp on 35 bloodline levels after your first character level, since they don't increase your ECL. With that you can go Druid 1/ Bloodline 35/ Fey Bard 1/ Animal Companion Sorcerer 1/ Animal Companion Wizard 1/ Beastmaster 1/ Abolisher 1, etc. and be counted as a Druid level 183 for your animal companion's benefits at ECL 6 (50k xp, party level 10.5). You can get Exalted Companion for a Celestial Warbeast Fleshraker that has everything standard for that creature plus 118 extra HD, +118 additional natural armor, +59 Str and Dex, and it should have Vow of Poverty and Epic Vow of Poverty (http://community.wizards.com/forum/previous-editions-general/threads/1666016) which gives Divine Rank 0, and I don't even want to calculate those EVoP bonuses for a 122 HD creature.

NE Half Orc Ranger 1/Barbarian 1/Half Orc Paragon 1/Orc Paragon 1/Totemist 1/Fighter 1/Warblade 1 into Frenzied Berzerker, Bear Warrior, Eye of Gruumsh, and as many different "Rage-stacking" PrCs as you can find. Requires Flaws.

Could I ask a request/side challenge?
Could anyone make a build utilizing/focused Master Spellthief and Psiotheurgist (http://www.realmshelps.net/cgi-bin/featbox.pl?feat=Psiotheurgist)?

Your build can't make the skill ranks for Master Specialist at level 2. Arcane Disciple doesn't qualify you for Dweomerkeeper (you'd need southern magician, or something similar for that).

No, they don't.

Just swap Drow Paragon in for the second level.

Dweomerkeeper's actually even harder to get into; you need the actual domain, which Arcane Disciple doesn't give.

It's solvable with substitute domain, though, since you get a domain to swap from Divine Oracle. The trick will be getting the UMD to use a want or schema of it.

This topic has come up (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?223669-The-One-Challenge)before (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?234293-20-levels-20-classes).

Going Ur-priest and taking a bunch of +1 spellcasting prestige classes seems the best bet.

Curmudgeon came up with a pretty viable 1-10 dipping build called Stretch (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=12282966&postcount=16), which can be finished up nicely with the following:

Lion Totem Barbarian [Pounce]
Master of Masks [Assassin Mask +1d6 Sneak Attack]
Swordsage [Assassin's Stance, Cloak of Deception, Death From Above, Distracting Ember, Mountain Hammer] (Might need feat for Assassin's Stance)
Shadow Thief of Amn [+1d6 Sneak Attack]
Psychic Rogue [+1d6 Sneak Attack, Force Screen]
Psychic Warrior [Leap Attack Bonus Feat]
Warblade [Sudden Leap, White Raven Tactics]
Exotic Weapons Master [Exotic Weapon Flurry]
Sonokineticist [Sonic Lash]
Lasher [Whip SA +1d6]

Assuming Fractional Bab (and a reasonable homebrew fractional saves) this build ends up with:
Medium BAB +1 (4 Attacks)
Good Reflex -2
Poor Fortitude
Poor Will +2
Roughly D8 Hitdice [Average HD is d(7.8)]
4+Int mod Skills/Level [Average Skills is 4.3]
13d6 Sneak Attack with Whip (1d6 Su)
12d6 Sneak Attack with other (1d6 Su)

Other Classes that are nice substitutes for the above are:
* Generic Warrior (UA) [+2d6 Sneak Attack & +1 BAB] (Probably not be allowed)
* Ronin (CW) [+1d6 Sneak Attack & +1 BAB] (Requires EWP Bastard Sword: Weapon Aptitude]
* Avenger (Online) [+1d6 Sneak Attack & .75 BAB] (Requires Non-chaotic: No word on Battle Dancers of different Alignments, but “A monk who becomes nonlawful cannot gain new levels as a monk but retains all monk abilities,” might be relevant)
* Lurk (CPsi) [Faux +1d6 Sneak Attack & .75 BAB] (Good with Practiced Manifester Feat)
* Psychic Assassin (Online) [+1d6 Sneak Attack & .75 BAB] (Requires Practiced Manifester Feat)
* Warlock (CArc) [+1d6 Eldritch Blast & .75 BAB] (Might Qualify for Demon Binder…maybe?)
* Warshaper (CW) [Natural Weapons…]

Alternatively, Stretch would likely finish up nicely with Ur-Priest with 9 other caster increasing classes, and something like Tainted Scholar or Tainted Sorcerer to cast off of Taint, and some undead shenanigans...

L1 - Barbarian;
L2 - Ranger;
L3 - Fighter (Feats-prereqs for Dragonslayer);
L4 Duskblade (Little arcane);
L5 Crusader;
L6 Dragonslayer (Feat-Combat Casting) (boost Duskblade);
L7 Abjurant Champion (boost Duskblade);
L8 Swashbuckler;
L9 Warblade;
L10 Hexblade;
L11 Knight;
L12 Orc/Dwarf Paragon;

From here you would need to start looking for more prestige classes to go into. Full BAB, good HP, lots of odd little abilities. Also MONSTER SAVES...
