shadow blade feat question. Text vs table question. New to D&D

As stated in another post I'm new to d&d. I'm curious about a small discrepancy in the text vs the table shown for the feat. According to the table "Shadow Blade One Shadow Hand maneuver Use Dex modifier instead of Str modifier on damage rolls with Shadow Sun weapons." However, according to the text "While you are in a Shadow Hand stance and attack with one of the discipline’s preferred weapons, you can add your Dexterity modifier as a bonus on melee damage for attacks made with the weapon. " The text says nothing about swapping STR for DEX. Instead it states to add not replace. So which one is right?

Edit: You may also be interested in Drow Fighter, from Drow of the Underdark, pg. 58. Does not require the drow race, though I'd fluff it as drow-related training.
