Planehopping with lvl 5 or lower lvl spells?

Is it possible? If spell slots and spells known are restricted to level 5?

For the inner planes, you could befriend a gem dragon...

You could find some portals... maybe find or cause a planar breach...

It might be a short trip, but you could get sucked into the Astral by putting a bag of holding into a portable hole...

There is an incantation that takes you to Yssgard. Can be accomplished early in game

Yeah, Plane Shift is 5th-level (if you have a cleric) so you can just use that.

Alternatively: find a Psion to take you on an Astral Caravan. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/psionic/powers/astralCaravan.htm)
